DISHONEST 'Royal' Mail - 0 STARS. If I had the option to rate 0, I would.
I have had 2 deliveries from Vinted sent to a RM locker. On both occasions I have received a notification that it is ready to collect, but no code provided...I spent 1.5 hours the first time I called to report this & I was informed that I had missed the timescale to collect & therefore I had to schlep to pick it up from a depot, which is a 40 minute round trip. I pushed to get my parcel delivered to my home by RM as i pointed out that they had not honoured the delivery service, and in RM's defence they honoured this request. I thought this was a one off, but oh no. The exactly same thing happened a 2nd time- no code provided. This time I sent an email straight to RM as I had the address. I was told AGAIN that I had to pick it up from the depot. I asked for it to be escalated to a manager and advised that I wanted to make a formal complaint. The RM reps kept pushing back & sending generic emails & ignored the fact I wanted to formalise this issue as a complaint. I then stated that if they did not treat this as a formal complaint, I would be publicising the fact that RM go through the motions of pretending that they've delivered a parcel to a locker, when in fact it has never left the depot.No response received, but the next day I receive an email providing a code. I have just gone to collect the elusive parcel, and guess what....it's the wrong code!! That's probably because my parcel is still at the depot!!! What an absolute shambles & dishonesty at it's finest!!!

Where to start. Literally withinin months of each other, I have had bank letters not being delivered, I have received other people's mail. I have sent out 1st class signed for letter 1 out of 3 got delivered! What is going on Royal Mail? Like there isn't an existing issue with fraud on the planet. Royal Mail seems to be adding things into the equation.

AN IMPORTANT LEGAL RULING!! I posted a set of binoculars to London in 2024. Yes, you guessed it arrived smashed to bits. Tried to make a claim under my Royal Mail special delivery cover. RM tried every trick in the book not to pay my claim for £472. I had to send some of the documents 4 times. RM ultimately rejected the claim, asserting immunity from prosecution for loss or damage to parcels under TORT. This immunity applies to all parcel delivery services in the UK. Despite this, I took them to the small claims court in Manchester, which took almost a year. The judge postponed the hearing as it was too important for him to hear. A special hearing was then held. The judge ordered RM solicitors to allow a full day for the hearing on 2 Dec 2025 Manchester Civil Justice Centre. The short version is that the Judge REJECTED THE RM IMMUNITY UNDER TORT. The judge then considered the case under the Sale of Goods Act. I WON THE CASE AND GOT MY COMPENSATION. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT RULING IF TAKING ON ANY DELIVERY SERVICE IN THE UK!

Even 24hr or 48 hour service never works even tracking very rarely works 3 to 5 days to deliver under 300 miles. You should take lessons from FEDEX = up to minute tracking & 2days to cover 6000 +miles door to door.

I have just had a parcel delivered to my home. A very polite and respectful "Postie" offered me an unsolicited package. But before doing so he asked what my date of birth is.
He was informed not to be so bloody nosey and his request was denied. He respectfully stated that he could not leave the package. I closed the door but soon after relented.
I gave him a date. He then read out the next instruction - "does he look 70 plus"
Who the hell in Royal Mail determined that it is acceptable to place the "Postie" in a potentially aggressive and confrontational position by having to enquire the age of a recipient !
Bloody appalling and inconsiderate action.

Shocking, important letters take 2 weeks to arrive, come in packs like they have been saved up at the sorting office. Also when a parcel needs to be delivered you get a very general, will be delivered today before 5pm, it then doesn't get delivered, after which you will get an email advising you you have redirected the parcel and or you where not home, neither are true. Shambles, should not recieve any taxpayers money! Darwen office!

PARCEL COLLECT DIDN'T TURN UP FOR A COLLECTION. I waited in all day yesterday for a collection. Their collection time was 10.30 to 2.30 but couldn't be guaranteed. Wasted even more time trying to find out from their website, no means of contact. Eventually got an email saying to rebook my collection. USELESS

Absolutely horrible service and system.
I'm a new business so I can only qualify for a "business light" account which means that every day, Royal Mail will sent me an invoice that needs to be manually paid within 24 hours or they'll suspend the account.
There's no way to set up an automated payment or direct debit. Now this could be manageable except:
- They don't sent the invoices out the same day
- when they sent them, the payment system doesn't always work
- when you notify them that it doesn't work, no one takes note and they'll suspend your account anyway, and it takes 72 hours to get in re-instate.
Absolutely impossible to do business with.

Had a parcel or something delivered when I was out, note through the letterbox saying in safe place, well it wasn't in the Safe place so I've been trying all morning to call them but nobody Answers the phone, this is an absolute joke surely there's 1 person who could answer the phone
So much poor service!
I booked and paid handsomely for a mail redirect recently as I thought I could rely on Royal Mail not to mess it up - how wrong I was. Of course they took the money immediately - but then proceeded to not bother setting it up, losing my bank card and important letters in the process. When I complained about it I realised just how difficult they make it - presumably so people will give up and go away (no chance of that). You either have to trawl through the website trying to find the form they do their best to hide, or you can call and have a wait time of 60 minutes! After I made the first complaint they closed it off as resolved without even telling me - and without resolving it. Then they got my call mixed up with somebody else's and kept telling me I had phoned them twice and one time was about a lost parcel - I think it was at this point that I decided I will never again trust them with my money for a service. I have made numerous complaints since, which are still outstanding, nobody has explained what happened to my bank card (which I only found out was missing when I tried to use my old one which had been stopped, and it was declined in the shop). I did get a call from a manager last week after absolutely insisting on this - to be told the best they could offer me was to contact the delivery office and it would take up to 10 days to report back to me. Interesting how they have not yet refunded me for the period of just over a month where I have paid for mail redirection and they have not redirected any mail ... The complaints will continue to come, and all very publicly.... good old UK.

Terrible call centre behaviour would not recommend
Business customer, tried to call call centre for help, was on hold for 40 minutes and then when we finally reached a person in customer services and started to speak to them they suddenly claimed that they couldn't hear us and just kept repeating while talking louder and louder over us 'can't hear you terminating call'. this continued while we could hear giggling in the background until they put the phone down on us - just happened at 4.10pm 19th September 2025. Just terrible call handler behaviour and as expected terrible service as usual.

Do the royal mail actually deliver anything anymore or are they just a joke shop post office? My parcel hasn’t moved for the past 8-9 days because they are ‘short staffed’ yet multiple orher things including previous tenants parcels have turned up in the meantime?? What a pathetic excuse of a company.

Ignorant & Useless
One star because I can't give a zero. Charged me twice for a customs fee. Happily paid using PayPal as it's an option they offer, but after 12 days I had to pay by cash over the counter because my payment wasn't showing up, despite the money being removed from my account with 24hrs.
Had to pay be cash over the counter to avoid the package being sent back to Oz, so I paid twice.
I then had to open a case on PayPal and they ignored every request from PayPal to address the case.... they just ignored all messages.
Took me a month to finally get my initial PayPal payment back from them. Other people may not be so lucky with this bunch of grifters.
Top-tip... avoid using PayPal, or better still avoid using any system that this lot may get involved with. Better off to try and use the likes of DHL, Fe-Ex etc from overseas to cut this bunch out of the loop.

Parcels should be delivered on Leicester city but while I tracked shown as melton Mowbray delivery office and every two days changing the location of my parcels still waiting for my parcels to come Can’t even deliver the parcels to the right address then they make out it’s your fault because they are to lazy and can’t do their job properly
