Course in Social Care Management level 5 is absolutely brilliant , very informative , short lessons of 10/15 mins which provide the gist of the topic . I would recommend as excellent starting point in the field , but its lacking practical and care field practices also topics in Duty of care and responsibilities of care manager are not fully covered . I would advice to get a real person with experience in the field to review and upgrade the course information . Its absolutely vital for Level 5 to teach practical strategies how to manage HCA and implement policies for person centered care . Thanks for the course

I found the changes in voices…
I found the changes in voices repetitive and some content not relavent to my setting. If youve already completed safeguarding training yearly some of the content is a bit how to suck eggs but if its your first time its very informative and covers all safeguarding.
The prepaid certificate was a bit annoying and my portal showed only 37.5% completed which was annoying when youve sat for hours listening to the recordings. Its now updated to 80.4% cant diwnliad my prepaid certificate.

I really enjoyed completing the… Level 5 designated safeguarding lead
I really enjoyed completing the designated safeguarding lead course. (level 5) This course was informative, easy to understand an covered the key areas of safeguarding in a clear and practical way. It has helped me develop my knowledge and confidence in understanding safeguarding responsibilities, recognising concerns, responding appropriately and understanding the importance of multi agency working. The only thing i have not figured out is how to download the certificate for free as i have lifetime membership and have completed a number of courses and still have no clue how to get my certificates.

Disappointing and a waste of money
Disappointing and a waste of money. I paid for a life time membership, which should give me free certificates, I am still supposed to pay £12 per certificate.
The course I have done didnt even have content for several modules and the transcript is auto generated and inaccurate. The information isnt even correct, stating pork should be cooked to 63 degrees, when it should be at least 74 degrees.

I found the course very informative and valuable. Each module has helped me develop a stronger understanding of residential childcare, from effective communication and relationship building to safeguarding, leadership, child development, trauma-informed care and managing risk.
I particularly enjoyed learning about how different areas of childcare work together to support the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people. The course has also helped me understand the importance of teamwork, professional communication, equality and inclusion, and providing consistent and person-centred care.

Events Planning & Management course
I have recently completed the Events Planning & Management course and feel this review may be helpful for anyone considering purchasing a course with Royal Open College.
The information provided in the course is exactly what you would need, and the content itself is useful and relevant. However, I felt the course delivery significantly let it down.
The course is essentially a PowerPoint presentation with AI-generated narration throughout. There is very little interaction, engagement or variation, which made it difficult to maintain my concentration. I also found that, because the narration appears to have been generated using AI, there were occasions where words ran together or sentences lacked natural pauses, particularly where full stops appeared to be missing. This made the course difficult to follow at times.
I feel the course would benefit greatly from being redesigned using the same core content, but with less repetition, more natural narration and, most importantly, some interactive elements. Other online learning platforms offer quizzes, activities, scenarios and practical exercises that help reinforce the information and make the learning experience much more engaging.
Unfortunately, I found myself switching off during a large part of the course because of the delivery style, which meant that I was left looking elsewhere to make sure the knowledge and skills I needed had actually sunk in.
Overall, I initially felt the course was somewhat of a waste of money for me. The information is there and is relevant, but the way it is presented makes it unnecessarily difficult to engage with and retain. With a more interactive and professionally produced format, I believe the course could be much more effective.
*I have since updated my rating to 3 stars because of the excellent customer service I received after raising my concerns. I contacted Royal Open College by email regarding my experience, and I was very pleased with the way they responded and dealt with my concerns. While my opinion of the course delivery itself has not changed, I do feel it is important to recognise good customer service when it is provided.

course well planned, at first i was confused with pre-paid certificate because when i finish my course it said to order one then it took me somewhat ten minuets till i figured it out that on the ordering certificates page after you click the link then it says to choose the options, you have to scrolled down till it reached the end of the page that said something about if you've pre-paid for the certificate, after you clicked it it'll take you to another page that asked you to enter your email and order ID without hashtag in front of the numbers. was frustrated during the fact that i have to figure it out myself before i email customer service to make sure that it may have been a mistake or error on the website. I'd recommend royal open college to give a little bit more visible information about where to go if you've already pre paid for certificate, it wasn't noticeable that much at first. thank you

The course is well planned but...
The course is well planned and delivered. It will be good to be able to print the materials.
The low rating is because it's been hard to start access when initially the password given did not work. And then when it came to ordering the certificate it's asking for payment even though I have prepaid.
The above issue is yet to be resolved, customer service is not the best.
