I've worked with SCA-Tax and I've worked with their Directors previously, as a 3rd party on both occasions i.e. not as a paid employee. They're a pleasure to work with. Straight talking, honest and approachable, and the other people I've met at SCA Tax seem to share those values. It's clear to me that they have a genuine interest in recovering monies owed for their customers. I've recommended their services to people already and have heard no negative comments from doing so. We nearly fell for it when contacted by this company, however our solicitor alerted us to the fact that HMRC does refund you SDLT initially, but they actually check the claim 9 months later and then if the claim does not uphold they will ask for the full amount back plus a penalty. By this time you will have paid this company their fee. Beware and check with an independent solicitor first.

I had a fantastic experience with Hard Castle Swimby. They were incredibly supportive throughout the entire claims process and successfully submitted my 2 claims with ease. Their communication via email was excellent—they were always responsive and kept me updated at every step. I have 1 more claim ongoing at the moment but I have no doubt they will succeed in that too.
