Don't waste your money:
1) This software is so crappy and useless that I just used it a couple of times. It makes the computer to crash, and the recording is not reliable. I had to redo the recordings several times. What a monumental waste of time!
2) Unfortunately, the licence auto-renewal was somewhat hidden and I kept paying for it against my will years later. I just realize now that I paid USD 19.70 for 4 years for nothing.
Licence auto-renewal is not ethical. It should be opt-in by default, not opt-out.

Absolutely horrible program. Absolutely horrible. Buggy. It takes 20 minutes to start the program and 20 minutes to close. What happens is that you click once and wait for 1 minute and still the program doesn't load and so you obviously click on it more and you do so and more and 10 windows open up and thus computer hangs.

It is extremely inefficient and buggy. If I have a Youtube music background on, it basically renders it useless. Thoroughly dislike this program. What's the point of it if it is too clunky and doesn't work?

Also, can I just please have what I really asked for? Please? Is it too much to ask? All I want is a screen recorder. Not some frills and bells and whistles and other filligrees making it a full fledged editor. Hence it explains why it takes gazillion years to load and close.

Seriously. I miss the good ol 80s and 90s, where the software was robust, never crashed and did what it asked for. Nowadays, all these unnecessary add-ons and glitzy, cutesy ancilliary widgets and bells and whistles makes a modern software COMPLETELY useless just like Wondershare Filmora, Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF and other Microsoft Apps like Photos. Modern software is incredibly horrible in design, UI as well as efficiency. (On the other hand platform like Upwork (which has its own flaws) makes sure there platform is as robust as a steel and never crashes. It has to. Or else there would be no business.)

Don' get me wrong. I appreciate the add-ons like copyright free music (oh don't bother many videos get copyright strike cuz of the music but it wont affect your channel).

Programmers apparently think everyone has T1 internet connection or Cray supercomputer at home. They never beta tested it to see what would happen on an average user's computer?

It takes 400 hours just to make a 2 second video. Why bother?

Terrible experiencia

It routinely freezes and makes me lose 10+ minutes of my work. The UI sucks. I cannot find things that I need, especially post-recording, even though I have used it routinely for years now. Whenever there's an update, I never know whether it will work or will it mess up my computer. I hate this app so, so much, but my work forces me to use it. Who's gonna give me minutes and hours of my life wasted using this piece of junk, ScreenPal, huh?

this is a horrible worm, after you install the program and lunch it, it simply runs over 20 times utilizing 100% of the available CPU and RAM memory, to the point that you cannot even turn of your PC. it simply feels like a scam

I have been trying to get help for the same problem form these people for going on two weeks. I put in a ticket, I get one email response and then they disappear. There is no way it should be this hard to get help. This has got to be some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. And I'm not a free member.

Easy screen recorder and video editor with more free features than any competitor. Hosting and sharing videos is really nice too. I was using all their free tools, but then upgraded to get call-to-action buttons on my shared videos. Totally worth it!

I have been using Screencast-O-Matic for some time now as an educator. I use it for everything from quick video feedback or clarifying directions for students to full lessons. I've found it to be very easy to use, with a good range of features for the price. It integrates with our LMS, the editing features are perfect for my needs, and the captioning options make it very easy to create accessible videos for our students.

I have found the screen recorder to be very easy to use, produces good quality video, and is a great value. I use it often to record, edit, and publish to YouTube. The built-in editor makes it really easy to clean up my audio and add text. They have a library of royalty-free music that’s really easy to use. Overall, a great app!

Very easy to use! Screen and webcam recording is intuitive, and I like that I can easily edit my recordings in the video editor. Automatic captioning makes it simple to add captions. Super affordable, too!

Stealing your money og you can not delete your own acount and card info. Their have no customer support or way of contacting them.

Making people waste their time. They claimed that the software could record even DRM protected videos too, but I had to waste my time downloading, installing & trying it, to find out that it couldn't!

Horrible lying company!!! I bought their “lifetime” pro version and not only did I always have trouble loading it (it constantly needed updates and would force me to log into the website and even then refuse to open) a few years later they wrote and told me I needed to pay them:
I ALREADY DID!! Why did I have it for three-four years without payment if I had t already bought the lifetime membership!!! She said there was no membership associated with my email then abruptly cancelled my account. I was so freaking mad , if it was worth the time I’d take them to small claims but it’s not, I’m just going to find a better screen recorder that opens better with better features and oooohhhhh I’ll never use this company again
