Only gave one star so I could leave a review! I downloaded a manual for instructions to use a product and paid £1.49 - didn’t realise until second payment came out that it was a monthly subscription! Cancelled and called customer services and spoke to a very curt person who said it was unrefundable! Even though it says on website if you contact them within 14 days you can be reimbursed! They won’t give me a penny back! Absolute scam!!!! Don’t go near this company!

I paid for a download version of a user manual. Following payment, I was transferred to a form that wouldn't allow me to enter the name of the manual. I sent a complaint but have not received notification that it has been received. It was only £1.49, so most people won't even be bothered to complain.

What a bunch oof scam artists, ordered a £1.79p user manual for my vax carpet cleaner. Nowhere did it mention about a £25 monthly subscription fee. Just suddenly appeared 2-3 days later on my bank account. Called them up and asked for an explanation about the amount of money taken and was curtly told it was a monthly subscription. Stay well away from this crowd.

All I needed was a manual for my Hotpoint washing machine as could not find mine. After searching the internet I came across this company. You have to pay £1.49 up front which does not sound much until you realise they do not have any Hotpoint manuals.
I emailed them and they replied sending me some old manual for a very old machine. Not all models would have the exact same manual, they just got that out of fresh air somehow.
To add insult to injury SECONDMANUAL helped themselves to a further £24.99 I think the amount was.
Reason I am unable to check is due to this company called SECONDMANUALS helping themselves to my hard earned pension, from my credit card account which I have held for over 20 years without a problem. They were slow to act with this complaint of mine and in a panic I closed my account out of fear these scammers would just keep taking money out and give me nothing in return.
Why would any company take money out of a customers account but give nothing in return. How is this acceptable??
Why would anyone believe by placing an order for a manual that it would be part of a subscription contract.
Isn't online selling suppose to have a 14 day returns policy. Your company is disgusting I can not state it enough.
I will be making contact with trading standards because these people will just carry on doing this.

I already reached out to you before I realised you had taken a second payment. Thats when you sent me a hotpoint manual for some much older washing machine not mine at all and no help what so ever.
CAN YOU PLEASE CONFIRM WHAT THIS SUBSCRIPTION IS FOR? What am I getting for £24.99 oer month year or whatever, because I have received nothing from you other than an old manual that does not help with my machine.
If someone takes money out of your wallet and gives nothing in return that is theft/stealing.
You may think it funny adding useless replies when you obviously did not read my review nor care about my £24.99 you took but gave me nothing at all in return.
A subscription is for buying a product or service I have received neither so you out and out stole from me.

Offered a pdf of a manual for about £2 - tucked away in the terms and conditions are details about a 'subscription' for nearly £25 which kicks in after 72 hours. That would have smarted less if the manual I had been promised had at least been delivered but it was not. Do they actually sell anything or do they just take people's money? Avoid! I eventually found the same manual for free elsewhere anyway.

Downloaded manual - it was the correct model number but actually the wrong manual. Spotted the pending £24 charge on my account. Cancelled within the 72 hours and they denied the cancellation. Have ordered a new bank card as they have my details and evidently highly untrustworthy.

If you have been mugged over by this cowboy outfit as I was, do what I did and get a full refund.
Simply go to your card company and say the service is no good and they will refund your £24.90. I got confirmation it is back in my account just now.

Two days after the above review, they responded with the same support wishy-washy stock answer. I have told them, "I received nothing, just refund me". But no refund. (Yet).

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY and its dodgy practices. I paid £1.49 for a single manual but then got debited for £24.90 a few days later. They must think I am a mug. If you try to log into the account, it does not connect when asked for a password reminder. The New Day Fraud department is next on the list for dealing with this. Not even worth one star.

Not in legal terms a scam, since hidden in the small print is the information you are signing up for a monthly subscription, but I've had the same experience as everybody else - ordered a manual (which they didn't even have) for £1.49 - then found a debit of £24.90 on my bank account this month. I've cancelled my account via Secondmanual's website and got an automated email confirmation that no further money will be taken from my bank account. Contacted my bank fraud department - they have put a block on Secondmanuals on my account (along with Manualfinders, who use the same technique!). But I have to get the payment of £24.90 back from Secondmanual themselves - if I don't get it in 30 days I can go back to Barclay's fraud department. My impression is that Barclay's have a sort of greylist of suspect companies and alert customers if they see unusual continuing payments being made.

This software company is a SCAM. Lure you in with a cheap offer of £1.49 and then unknowingly charge your card on monthly rolling basis of £24.90.
