I have used a couple of Indian online grocery shops and Shaalis has been the best by far. Good selection of food, very prompt next day delivery, which is much better than others who say 3-4 days and... Toon meer

I never thought that I'd be using online services for grocery shopping, however COVID 19 and the Lockdown made me improvise. Shaalis came to help during the difficult time and I have been very happy with their service. There were few glitches with stock availability, but that was communicated well and agreed alternatives prior to delivery. Overall a good service.

Ordered items on day 1, expecting delivery on day 2 as advertised on website and stated in order confirmation email. No status updates on the day. When asked about the whereabouts of my order on online chat at around 5pm, they had no clue. Then said delivery would be done on day 3, with no apologies. When asked for the reason for delay, asked me to wait again while they checked something. Another chat representative then said delivery would be made within an hour, was ready for dispatch. Nothing. When asked 2 hours after the conversation, they said it was out for delivery and driver would call. Then received a call telling an item was out of stock and if they could substitute...so order clearly hadn't been dispatched.other finally arrived at 10pm without the substitutes we had agreed on. Wouldn't be using again for sure.
My reply to shaalis.com:
Dear Shaalis,
1) It doesn't matter whether the delivery was made at 9pm or 10pm, the point is that there was no intention to deliver on the 11th of November, had I not chased for my order. I email you the transcript of my first chat with shaalis which will make that evident to you.
2) I did not email myself further transcripts when my order did not arrive within the hour as promised, but I can show you record of receiving a call from number in ending in 9596 at 7.54pm to discuss product substitutions, an hour after I should have already received my order as per the above transcript . There is nothing wrong with substitutions, all businesses provide them and they make perfect sense. The point is I should not be receiving that call when I have been told twice that the order is already ready or been dispatched. Isn't it? Furthermore, when we agreed on the substitution, why is it then not delivered? I can share a refund receipt from shaalis for the missing items if you require.
I do not wish to engage in a war of words Shaalis. I am sure you are a successful business and I understand there may have been excess demand at Diwali time. All I expected was acceptance of poor performance on this occasion, and nothing more. I was asked for honest feedback, and I offered it; it is now up to you to either use it to improve your services or to disregard your failings and defend yourselves. You have much more record in chat or phone than I do, to identify the exact sequence of events and reasons for delay, and I will leave it to you how to use it to your and your customers' advantage for the future. I rest my case here and thank you for whatever service you were able to provide on the day.
