Purchased a pair of Caterpillar Elmore Safety Trainers at just under £100, spending more than I normally do as I was expecting good quality due to the brand name. how wrong was I?
Despite wearing them for only 4 months in a not-particularly hard-wearing environment (Goods in department in a garden centre) they both started to come apart inside at the heel which resulted in extreme discomfort.
Contacted Caterpillar directly stating that they were purchased through another website and were coming apart and they requested photographic proof. After sending them the proof they responded stating that they could not assist as they were not purchased directly from Caterpillar - begs the question why did I have to go to the trouble of taking photos and send them proof of damage in the first place??? Total waste of my time!
Then contacted the website I purchased them through (Workwear Gurus) and then again went through the whole process of sending proof of purchase along with various photos. They then responded stating that they would contact Caterpillar regarding the issue directly (uh oh!!) who in-turn declined the claim stating that the damage 'had not been caused by a manufacturing fault'! So I can only assume that they are admitting that the damage had been caused by POOR QUALITY. It certainly wasn't caused by my feet or the environment I work in!
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY buying these safety shoes, I am now reluctant to buy anything from Caterpillar following from this extremely disappointing experience. I have purchased cheaper safety boots from less well known brands that have been more comfortable and lasted well over 1 year without any issue.

Ordered at 1900 Monday night they boots were here at 10.30 Tuesday. Talk about fast. Perfect

Gravel 6 boots are the best boots I’ve owned, very comfortable and robust.

I was happy with my new safety boots but one of the boots had a problem so I reached out to customer service and send and email with pictures, they responded fairly quick and I got a full refund, the boots were nice, they were just faulty but I'll definitely shop with caterpillar caus I know defectiveness can happen but customer service is solid.

Received as described,in good time, overall no complaints!

Quiero denunciar un fraude con el nombre de caterpillar,compré jnas botas que nunca han llegado,llevo mes y medio esperando y dice que están entregadas. Reclamo pq lo primero es que me cobran más de lo que es,pido factura que nunca llega y por último me proponen un reembolso de un 60% pq no pueden pagar más y que sea comprensiva dicen. He contactado con carterpillar en Barcelona, y me dicen que no trabajan estos productos. Me piden los datos y el link para hacerlo llegar a Estados Unidos. Me comentan que seguro es una estafa y lo pondrán en conocimiento de la empresa. Y ahora que? No se ni por donde empezar... como puede ser que se anuncien tan fácilmente estos chorizos

Goods as expected and always up to date with offers. One thing that could be changed is the offer of Free P&P as advertised then you find out it is only UK postal addresses - not indicated on the offer.

Bought a pair of boots which were very comfortable and had great grip. But the soles have disintegrated after 12 months, letting in water. The boots have not had a hard life - no hiking, no building site, no walking to work. They've barely seen any action at all - I work in IT, so a typical work day seems me walking around on carpet in the office. They're barely even worn in - so when the soles failed, I contacted customer service via the web chat service.

Customer service got back to me. "Miguel" from customer service assured me they stand by their quality products, and then asked for a load of photos which I duly provided. I never heard from "Miguel" again despite several emails asking whether the pics had been received. I tried contacting someone else through the web chat service. Wouldn't you know it, "Miguel" got in touch and assured me they stand by their quality products and asked for a load of photos. Clearly this is some sort of stock response - I doubt "Miguel" is even a real person. I replied (again), but don't expect to hear anything back (again).

So they offer an opportunity to contact customer service, but apparently have no interest in what their customers say.

I've been a CAT customer for 20+ years, but am bitterly disappointed in the quality of their new products, and the quality of their customer service. I now have to resort to a credit card charge back to see if I can get any redress. It's not acceptable that the soles of a pair of supposedly good quality boots can wear out in 12 months of light use.

Extremly fast delivery, great quality... I couldn't ask for more! Thank you!!
