I’m writing this review to share my experience and let others know what they can expect when it comes to customer service with this business.
I recently experienced an issue with one of my expansion pack batteries. After reaching out to customer service, a representative walked me through the troubleshooting process to help determine the cause of the issue. While nothing is ever perfect, I was extremely impressed with how this team handled the situation.
The communication throughout the entire process was detailed, clear, and professional, while everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. They were quick to work toward a resolution and consistently kept me updated through email. In fact, I never once had to follow up for an update—they made sure to keep me informed daily and let me know the progress every step of the way.

I have used this company many times. This last transaction has been the most disappointing experience of any online transaction I have ever done.
The amount of lies this company used to make it seem like I did not know what I was purchasing is crazy. They obviously do not record their phone conversations and I will never use this company again ever.

Because the size was confirmed prior to order fulfillment, refusing the freight delivery based on panel dimensions meant standard return shipping costs applied.

I found them to be liars and crooks.
I had issues with two of my solar panels while they were still under warranty. But after I sent in my panels I was told they were not under warranty, but I could just buy a new panel and get one for free. Great deal, but why would I do that when panels were indeed under warranty. So I called the manufacturer directly, my panels were in fact still on the warranty, so I started dealing with the manufacturer directly. They sent me a copy of the email from shop solar where they lied about me and made up stories to try to make me look like a fool. They never thought I would read the email.
When I was emailing the company I kept getting passed around from person to person because no one was able to actually help me. When I tested my panels both of them showed with the multimeter they were not getting power. I proved it with pictures. But somehow one of the panels magically started working after I sent it out.
I would guess they are moving refurbished products sold as new. I just know I will never shop with them again!
I can't set the dates right, but that's the site's fault.
**MORE LIES** I sent two panels in, you lied to me and told me they were not under warranty and I had to buy brand new ones. You even offered me a deal, buy one get one free. It was not until I started talking to the manufacturer of the solar panels directly that things got taken care of. You did not actually do anything. PLEASE STOP LYING. ¡¡I have emails to prove everything!!

To help resolve your issue quickly, Shop Solar covered the return shipping to inspect both panels. Upon bench testing, one panel was confirmed defective and was promptly replaced under warranty. The second panel tested fully operational, which meant it fell outside warranty replacement parameters. Per standard policy, operational items are subject to return shipping fees ($37), though our team offered alternative purchase options to help offset that cost.
We deal strictly in brand-new, factory-direct inventory and do not sell refurbished goods as new. While we regret that the communication during this process caused frustration, one panel was successfully replaced under warranty and the issue was fully resolved.
Excellent support during the entire project
From the first call to create our quote to final installation, customer support was top notch. Ordering was easy, shipping time was typical, and emails with our questions were answered quickly. Installation went smoothly. I'm very satisfied with how the project turned out. I tell my friends and those that stop by and ask about our solar system that Shop Solar is the route to go

Great experience at a great price
Although I was skeptical at first, I'm a believer now. Any issues or missing parts, I contacted them and they took care of it. My system is now completed and fully operational. Outstanding product support from Shop solar
When I purchased all this equipment as a whole I was a bit skeptical but from the sales departmen to the support team this company made the process super easy. Product is good
Product is good. Sales associates need to spend time explaining the product. I was asked about racking system and in my job this is where you mount batteries and other components. “Rack” . Then when I called customer support asking for mounting brackets for solar panels they sold me they said I didn’t order racking system which is necessary to install the solar panels . So much for complete solar kit from this company… now I need to spend $2000 for brackets for a total solar kit that it is not included.. very disappointing.

Our larger kits are sold with three options: no solar racking, roof racking or ground mounts. Looking back at the call transcripts with or Sales Department, the agent noted that your order was being quoted without the roof rack ("So this kit would be without a roof rack"). We realize terminology like "racks" can easily be misconstrued across different trades, and we regret the surprise during installation. Please reach out to our Sales team so we can work with you to get the correct mounting hardware for your project.

Grounding the system
It was a challenge to have my question understood. Essentially the answer was to confer with my local electrical inspector. It would have been helpful to have more details on Shop Solar info to show grounding info. Still unanswered is how to connect ground to the inverter, as I'm told that is what needs to be connected to ground.
There is no location indicated for ground on the inverter, except for ground connections for AC in/out. I doubt either of those would be proper for connecting ground.

To clarify the grounding location: on the NOVA MAX 3K, the ground connection is intended to go directly through the AC ground terminals (and/or the chassis ground screw). This ties the inverter safely back to your grounding system. Regarding multiple ground rods, code requires all ground rods in a system to be bonded together rather than kept isolated, which prevents dangerous voltage differences between components. We apologize for the miscommunication and are always here to help if you need further technical references for your build!
