Sloth Move are useful up to a point…

Sloth Move are useful up to a point (they came recommended by a conveyancing solicitor, which is good, as he deals with people moving all the time), but... they sent me an email saying 'you might've forgotten to complete your Sloth move', after I'd paid - bit worrying. They corrected this a few minutes later.
And they don't cover some major providers when it comes to changing address. For example, my bank, NatWest (pretty well known!) weren't on their list, nor were my mobile provider, O2 (also, pretty well known!).
Ultimately, I managed to change address for some providers, but not all - so I'll now have to change those addresses manually.
It may cost more, but a Post Office redirect would've covered all of my providers.

The Post Office Redirection service is helpful - but, unlike SlothMove, won't update your address.

Fast and relevant help

Dream turned into a nightmare! (Updated!)

Edit: Update March 2024, I came back to say that while my experience still can't be described as 'stress free', I really do have to credit Slothmove with a top notch apology.

I was contacted directly by the company director, Anna, who offered me an unreserved apology and took full responsibility for making sure all of my details actually got updated, even while agreeing to a full refund. It's clear that while the system isn't completely foolproof and things do go wrong (horribly so in my case!), this company do actually care about setting things right, and I have rarely seen such a graceful turn around in customer service. I've got a lot of respect for folks who own their errors so thoroughly, and I'd be willing to give it another go in future as a result.

I would recommend doing things differently to me and signing up as early as you can ahead of the move, as it's a lot more stressful if things go wrong when it's already last-minute!

My original experience:

I'm on benefits partly because I struggle to deal with phone calls and admin, so a service offering to do it for me sounded like an absolute dream, but it has been nothing but stress.

First their automated form got a bunch of my details switched around, so the companies I was supposed to be leaving showed up as the ones I was joining. They fixed half of them when I asked for help, but then nothing happened for weeks and they simply stopped responding to my emails.
When I tried going back to the start of their help system, I was assured that one person was going to deal with my issue personally... but as far as I could see, nothing actually happened and then they also stopped responding.

It's been six weeks now since my move. Nothing is sorted, and now not only do I have to do it all myself, I have to explain to everyone why I haven't contacted them sooner. Absolutely my worst nightmare.
I'm genuinely considering seeking compensation for the mental distress this has caused me, because as a disabled customer I just feel completely taken advantage of.

Also, the advertised WhatsApp chat support that was mentioned several places on the website apparently doesn't exist. I was given the option of email only, so I have no other way to get hold of them.

I’m very disappointed

I’m very disappointed.
I signed up. Paid £35.
Said I’m moving today. Got a response and was advised to log into my account. I went to log in. Couldn’t log in. Sent an email advising them that. They replied they will revert with a response within 5 days! But it’s no good. I’m moving today so basically I paid for nothing as I’ve gone and changed my details myself. Very disappointed.

I was finding it a nightmare attempting…

I was finding it a nightmare attempting to contact various government departments hours (yes hours) on the phone getting nowhere just for an address change, Thought I would give SlothMove a try. Easy entry website and if all goes as expected, sanity saved. Thankyou.

I do not require this service

I do not require this service. I realised most of my address changes had already been done. You requested payment which I did, then you inform me I have omitted information, I then go through it all again with a further payment. It’s still not correct. I stopped when the 3rd payment was asked. I now have 2 pending payments at my bank.
If I have made a mistake why does the website not let me know, then it could be corrected.
Please cancel my application along with pending payments.
