Terrible post issue customer service

I had a boiler service with a great technician. Almost 2 weeks later, after a lot of deliberation I conclusively knew I could smell gas in my small ultility room. I phoned Solv and to be honest they did send the same engineer that had done my boiler service to rectify the problem. I have no issue with the engineer, he came back and put his hands up and said he had made a mistake. Things happen. People make mistakes. However, I was surprised that no one from the company even had the time to make a courtesy call back after it was fixed. My boiler had been leaking gas for almost two weeks. As I said, the engineer was great. I think the company needs to examine it's customer service policy. Again. The engineer was fantastic and I have no complaints about him. Mistakes happen. Company needs to think about following up.

Thank you Patrick for your feedback, we’re sorry to hear that you weren’t happy with our customer service post repair, but we’re pleased to hear you found our engineer helpful.

When you contacted us to report the issue, the same engineer returned to your property within around half an hour to investigate and carry out the necessary repairs and safety checks to ensure there was no longer a leak and that the installation was safe to use. The matter was also reviewed internally by our Technical Supervisor, who addressed it directly with the engineer, reinforcing the correct solv procedures for boiler servicing and carrying out a follow-up audit at another site.

Our responsibility and typical process is to carry out work safely and respond promptly if any issues are reported, which we did in this case. As the engineer had resolved the issue and confirmed everything was safe on site, we did not feel an additional follow-up call was necessary. However, we apologise if this left you feeling differently.

If you ever have any queries or concerns, our technical team is always available through the office and we are happy to assist.

Response and quality of work, second to none.

While carrying out work on their gas meter, Phoenix Gas discovered a pressure drop on my system and turned my gas off. I rang Solv at 2:30pm, and although I was a new customer, they had an engineer, Harry, out within the hour. By 4:30pm, Harry had discovered and repaired the gas leak and had my gas heating back on.
I found their quick response exceptional, thank you Colm, and will definitely be using this company in the future.

The service was very good but I had to wait a week to get a new fuel pipe for my boiler, leaving us with no heating for that time.

We’ve looked back at the job notes to better understand your feedback. Your booking was made via our website on the 15th, and we attended to carry out the repair on the 19th, so the turnaround was 4 days. At the time of booking, your notes advised that everything was working ok and that you were leaving the property on the 22nd and would appreciate this resolved before then – which we were glad to be able to do.

Unfortunately, during what is a very busy time of year, our repair slots for the following couple of days were already fully scheduled, and this was the first available appointment. As the booking came in after hours on the 15th, the booking was arranged and confirmation email sent on the morning of the 16th confirming the callout for the 19th. We would always encourage customers to contact us if their situation changes or becomes more urgent so we can review options where possible.

Excellent

Speedy telephone response, engineer turned up when he said he would and resolved boiler failure promptly. Engineer was friendly, professional, and provided reassurance and guidance. Overall and considering that the boiler failed out of normal working hours and just before Christmas I was impressed and delighted with the service I received from the Solv team.
