I have had 2 Spacetalk watches (one for each child), and have had a few issues - one was incredibly poor quality watch bands (buy third party is my recommendation) and then porting over a number.
The customer service and flexibility is incredibly poor. While underlying watch serves its purpose, the second that there is a problem you have to rely on web base FAQ or an incredibly unresponsive and limited chat function. Everything is set up to auto renew and be as low touch for Spacetalk as possible and unfortunately it shows. Great in theory, but painful in practice.

401 DAYS INTO THIS SAGA (AND 270 DAYS AFTER MY REFUND) - THE FINAL SLAP on Dec 27 2025: I receive an email receipt congratulating me on the recharge of the SIM card that was returned to Spacetalk/Repairer for 10 months prior.
DAYS 402-420 post-purchase, I traded emails with Spacetalk, many of which completely missed the point. Eventually, in order to process my refund Spacetalk requested and I provided purchase receipts, credit cards transaction reports, SIM numbers, and the coup-de-gras was my date of birth (which I denied as a complete breach of privacy).
A few days later I was told that Spacetalk had previously provided a refund for my phone/SIM/charger 9 months earlier, a fact that I did not question. When Spacetalk finally understood that I wanted a refund for the unauthorized theft from my credit card, they refused. It’s all so familiar.
I’ve asked Spacetalk to refund my credit card, then delete my card details, then delete my contact details from their database. They have declined to do so.
I now need to apply for a credit card chargeback, cancel the card, and reschedule direct debits. Thanks, Spacetalk.

DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING FROM SPACETALK. DO NOT TRUST SPACETALK PRODUCTS OR SERVICE. MY EXPERIENCE IS A HORROR STORY WITHOUT END.

I am extremely disappointed with Spacetalk, mainly due to their poor customer service.

From my experience, getting help when something goes wrong is frustrating and time-consuming. Support responses are slow and feel generic, and it is very difficult to speak to an actual person. I found myself going in circles with automated replies rather than getting clear, practical help to resolve the issue.

When problems arose, there was no sense of urgency or ownership, and communication was poor. As a parent, this is particularly concerning because these devices are marketed around safety and reliability. When you need support, you should not have to chase repeatedly or feel dismissed.

Overall, the lack of responsive, human customer service has completely overshadowed the product itself. I would not recommend Spacetalk based on my experience, and I would think carefully before purchasing if reliable support is important to you.

Unusable product. Not reliable or safe for use for children.

Unfortunately I spent two days trying to set up this Watch before I read the reviews and realised I wasn’t alone.

It’s unsafe and frustrating that they target this product for children’s safety when it it’s reliable or safe

Watch software wont update.. just 'Fails', therfore watch cant be syncd to phone, doesnt do anything that is advertised it does, pretty sure thats an ACCC issue.
Customer support is AI... not helpful AI either... no risk of AI taking over the world here, as they only can offer the same 4 trouble shooting steps.. the so called 'human' support are Bots too, yes thats right Sam and Amanda, they program you to think you are real but you are 0's and 1's... $500 worth of garbage, daughter wants to know why Santa would ruin christmas for her this way...
So dissapointing.. should have gone the electric scooter she wanted, now she hates me and christmas.

Purchased in NZ, at a Hamilton Noel Leeming for ou daughter who is just turned 11. 0800 dont care line, rung 6 x times to AI no reponse. The App is poor for NZ, it only points you to AU information only. With a third party sim Spark NZ, it can receive an incoming call, however cannot pair device to APP QR code does not display. Attempt to get support zero reposnse. Will take it back to the retailer and give it a big fat 5 thumps down. All that marketing and hype, no substance or intergrity to its flashy offering.

I’d give a zero if I could!! DO NOT BUY

No support what so ever, can’t call them, they never answer messages or emails when you need them.

My son hasn’t been able to use his watch since he got it. Their AI agent is the only response we get

Purchased watch and app/plan package yet still have not received sim more than a month later and Spacetalk have not answered my emails and phone calls or msgs left.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on a product that I cannot use that has zero support.
Due to Spacetalk's lack of response I feel I have no other alternative than to take it to the department of fair trading.

All good until you need any sort of help or support. Non existent customer service. Recently charged me twice for a service and I have no way of contacting them. Dont know how they get away with that.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I bought two watches in June. For the last month we have had continuous issues, I can’t use the watches, can’t locate my children, they can’t talk to each other etc. I’ve been emailing the company for the last 3 weeks to sort and they reply every 2-3 days (won’t provide a phone number or alternate way of contacting them) and keep giving me the same response. The watches don’t work since the app upgrade and the customer service has been beyond shocking. Don’t buy this product.

If I could give 0 stars I would. New app renders the device completely unusable and unsafe. No response from support. An absolute joke do not waste your money.

The new Spacetalk app update requires ALL CONTACTS to download the app just so they can communicate with the watch owner! Why on earth is everyone required to download an app?!?!?

Absolutely the worst design, a great example on how to destroy something that worked by trying to be too clever. And, the CMO is all over reddit responding to the waves of negative feedback with a copy and paste response that doesnt address the major issue of everyone requiring to download the app.

Would give a zero if I could. Worked perfectly for 2 years and since the update this week neither watch works, no customer service and no way to communicate with my children. Not on!

A horrible update made the phone impossible to use. Contacts disappeared, my child got scared and couldn’t reach their grandparents, and we had to start everything from scratch, including device pairing. The phone keeps showing errors and won’t allow us to revert it back to the pre-update version. I cancelled our subscriptions immediately, and it’s unbelievable that there was no guidance provided for such a major change. Spacetalk offers no advice or support whatsoever. A perfect example of how to destroy a company’s reputation in an instant!

Had 2 of the watches for several years and they worked OK as we just wanted them so we can call the kids and they can call us.
Then came along the new app on 15/11/25. It has just thrown everything into a big mess they have truly outsmarted themself...all contacts are gone from one watch except min cannot call mum or grandparents - here is the kicker if you want to add them as contacts to the watch now they have to download the app also - absolute joke and so hard to work...

The app has just destroyed something relatively simple....Dont waste your time but a SIM apple watch and pair it of your account..... so much easier than Spacetalk they don't even get back to you and online instructions are very poor and wrong

How dare you intro a new app that wipes contacts from the kids watches so you can steer people into downloading your app - if i am wrong whay do you not respond to me contact requests??

Very bad one app update and all the contacts on the phone disappeared and can’t call or message. What a joke!

Absolutely appalling customer service from Spacetalk — the worst I’ve ever experienced. There is no phone number to call, and despite multiple attempts to get in touch, I’ve received no response from anyone but a Chatbot.

I returned a faulty watch on Friday, September 5, and six weeks later I still haven’t received my refund or a replacement. My son has been uncontactable since, which completely defeats the purpose of the product.

I’ll be lodging a formal complaint with the ACCC. It’s unacceptable that a company operating in this space treats its customers this way.

Avoid at all costs.

Broke immediately after taking ages to setup. Stopped subscription but they continued to charge me. Impossible to close subscription without calling and no refund for stolen funds. Terrible.
