To all future clients from France or Switzerland: do not go there.

I set up my company with SPC Free Zone. Before payment, everything seemed professional: a dedicated advisor, quick replies, and a written promise of step-by-step support with no hidden costs.

After payment, everything changed.

I paid the final visa and e-channel fees on 8 February 2026. And it was only AFTER payment had cleared that SPC sent me emails, dated 9, 10 and 12 February, informing me that I was not allowed to leave the UAE during the processing of my residence visa and Emirates ID, including on a second passport. This travel restriction was never clearly communicated to me BEFORE payment. NEVER. If it had been, I simply would not have triggered this stage of the process.

On 11 February, I asked my assigned advisor in writing on WhatsApp whether I could take my flight after the medical appointment. His written reply was: “Biometrics appointment then you take your flight.” I relied on that. I even sent SPC an email the next day requesting an urgent earlier biometrics appointment because my advisor had clearly told me (by phone, of course) that he had the ability to push for an earlier appointment, which proves that I was following exactly the instruction given to me.

The result: lost flight, being stuck in the UAE, and more than CHF 2,100 in documented losses: non-refundable flight, emergency accommodation, alternative transport, repatriation. Every item is supported by receipts.

And even while I was already stuck, SPC still offered me optional PAID “fast-track / insurance” services for AED 1,611. (lol...)

When I sent my complaint, SPC acknowledged in writing that their advisor’s communication “should have been clearer” and that it “appears to have been communicated in an informal manner.” Despite that written admission, SPC refused any reimbursement.

I kept every piece of evidence: emails, WhatsApp exports, payment proof, SPC’s written admissions, and a detailed loss schedule with receipts.

It is honestly sad to have to consult lawyers over a matter that, after such a written admission, should simply have been resolved properly.

My view is simple: do not go there.
In my case, professionalism stopped the moment payment was received.

To this day, despite its admission, SPC has made no real effort to resolve the matter fairly. Sad...

Worst place to setup business in the UAE .

What stems my frustrations and leads me to write a review is that the same customer service experiences that resulting losses to business because of the staff's poor knowledge to their job.

Two weeks gone for the back and forth to resolve a straightforward renewal issue, talking with multiple members but they are not even reviewing well at least to read but haven't. How can they assist the client efficiently when these team doesn't take ownership. No solution. No accountability.

Both poor processes on license and visa impacted business losses because of unnecessary delays and dis-oriented people.

If the staff are well equipped and knowledgeable of their job, the processes would be simplified but the staff's structure is a failure to provide efficient support to entrepreneurs.

SPC - The senior management has to intervene and do audit for the CSR's service. The system has to be fixed and the people should be knowledgeable to their job.

SPC management please fix your CSR structure to put knowledgeable people who has initiatives at least know how to read carefully and understand. It's highly costly for us - a small entrepreneurs incurred losses due to inefficient team you kept.

I do not recommend SPC at all. Anyone looking for business setup go elsewhere.

For nearly two weeks I’ve been trying to resolve a straightforward renewal issue. I’ve spoken to multiple team members. No ownership. No solution. No accountability.

This delay has directly impacted my business operations.

I requested escalation. I was told I would receive a call. That call never came.

The issue itself is simple. The failure is structural. And the team are not equipped.

If a company cannot manage something as basic as a renewal process within a reasonable timeframe, founders should seriously question whether this is the right partner to rely on. From my current experience SPC is not the right partner for you.

SPC - this needs immediate senior intervention. If this is not resolved within 24 hours, I will be transferring my license elsewhere.

If it was possible to give a negative Star i would probably give it...The work culture is extremely poor.... They are quick to ask for money.... But are not willing to do the job.....poor communication.... extreme level of frustration.... Just find another organisation

Unfortunately, my experience with SPC Free Zone has been extremely disappointing and is the main reason I decided to close my company.

The processes are unclear, constantly changing, and poorly communicated. During the company cancellation, the Business Owner Resolution (BOR) was returned to me multiple times despite the fact that it was filled and submitted at their own center. Even at the final stage, the process remained disorganized and inefficient.

The assigned agent, FREDAH, was unable to provide a clear end-to-end process, a defined path, or transparent costs. I had to keep chasing for information, and every time I asked, new requirements or new costs appeared. There was no consistency, ownership, or proper guidance.

What makes this worse is that this is not a one-time issue. The exact same problems happened last year during license renewal and FTA registration, and now they are repeated again during cancellation. This clearly reflects poor internal processes, weak training, and very bad communication.

Because of this experience, I am moving forward and opening in Ajman, where I have found much better support, clearer processes, and proper assistance.

I do not recommend SPC Free Zone for anyone looking for professional, transparent, and reliable business setup or support.

They are a scam company set up only to take your money and then give you the runaround forever, my visa was not approved, with no explanation, so i could not continue with the business setup, but they take your money well before, then when I want to cancel the license and get a refund first they say there is no license cancellation fee, but then when you submit the documents they keep on finding issues with it and moving the goalposts, for 8 months its going on like this, now they say they say i have pay the license cancellation fee. This is a proper scam company designed only to take your money. Don't believe the 5 star reviews, they are obviously fake reviews

One of the worst freezone and service you will ever come across..... once you pay for the license you are trapped.... they will not pick your calls.... Basically a scam organisation.....stay away from them if you want your mental peace..... they will only call you to ask money.... once you pay them you are on your own ..... and I am sure that most Google reviews are fake....The worst ones are truth....

Just as we criticize, we must be fair. A few days ago, we wrote a negative review of SPCFZ and received a call from a supervisor named Ahmad who took a few days to review the email chain and assess the performance of his employees, as well as the veracity of my complaints. Today, he contacted us again personally, resolving the issues fairly and professionally. We appreciate that they dedicated their time to caring for those who trusted them.Thank You

Terrible service, frustrating, poor communication. Would not recommend.

Very bad FZ, I opened two companies there and its a nightmare to get a nice service,
Majority of the clarks there are idiotic people keep pushing you in endless loops.

Be careful when you dealing with this company that took your money and never provide any service awful experience

We created our company in spc it's been more than a year now, first we were told that all that administration process we be done in les than 7 days it toke more than a month to setup our company in spc, we face to many problems with visa application, ids got canceled without any realistic reason, and at each time we request a support we always receive if you want this you need to pay and pay again and again, they only request payment, even we were told that we will have our own account manager, after that when requested it again the feedback was you need to pay 3000 aed for a dedicated account manager, I don't recommend this free zone at all.

Avoid at all costs!!! The company is an absolute scam! I had “???” Sent to me by the most unprofessional staff, when they required an extra payment. Now I’m waiting on a refund, they have refunded me 1/5th of what I was due and owe me £4,000!! This has taken weeks of back and forth trying to get some info, no one knows what they are doing here and only know how to take your money.
Unhelpful, not trustworthy and I wouldn’t bother. I have tried to make a formal complaint for several weeks and they don’t do anything
