Unreliable and greedy
I found some weird data, inconsistent with data from a reliable analysts cabinet. So I was curious about the origin.
However, to view the origin, you need to "register for free".
So, I created a free account and I was bugged all the time with nagging "upgrade popups".
They don't create their own data. Just scavenge without checking.

Statista offers the opportunity to access market, political, economic, and other numerous data in most of the country in every format either in CSV format, PDF, or PPT. The search button helped a lot to elicit the data I required.

Violent customers experience
I terminated my Statista account a while a go since did not see the additional value in paying (~1K€) for the usage of data that is freely available.
However, termination process was not as smooth as one could expect. Without going to details, I can confirm many of the other experiences mentioned in the Trustpilot reviews are accurate including cancellation form that does not actually work and using a law firm Anwaltskanzlei Conrad to intimidate.
I can just say that I have never encountered such a hostile company during my whole career.

sind ganz interessante Statistiken dabei. Habe aber schon einige gefunden, bei denen etwas falsch war. Das hatte ich Statista geschrieben und die korrigieren das nicht mal.
Die Quellenangaben von den Statistiken sind häufig nicht offen einsehbar.
Auf der englischen Wikipedia gibt es Konsens darüber, dass Statista keine vertrauenswürdige Quelle ist.

Prinzipiell gehen wir allen Hinweisen auf mögliche Fehler in unseren Daten nach, denn auch bei uns in der Redaktion arbeiten "nur Menschen", die auch Fehler machen. Hierzu kann man uns jederzeit eine Mail an kundenservice@statista.com (gerne mit entsprechendem Link) schicken oder das sogenannte Bugreport-Formular auf unserer Webseite nutzen.
Es tut uns sehr leid, wenn wir Deine angemerkten Fehler nicht korrigiert haben sollten.
Ansonsten sind unsere Quellen, egal, ob wir diese sind oder eine andere Primärquelle besteht, grundsätzlich immer einsehbar. Bei kostenfreien Basis Accounts gilt dies natürlich maximal für unsere kostenfreien Inhalte. Bei den kostenpflichtigen Accounts gibt es keinerlei Einschränkungen für die Sichtbarkeit unserer Quellen.
Ein Eintrag bei Wikipedia, dass es sich bei uns um keine vertrauenswürdige Quelle handelt, wäre uns neu. Auch hier würden wir uns über eine Weiterleitung sehr freuen.

Vorsicht Abzocke! Die Preise sind nicht klar ausgewiesen. Alles viel zu teuer für diese schwammigen Daten.
Zwei Monate nach Vertragsabschluss gab es noch immer keinen Auftakttermin. Es ist unfassbar.

Non-Responsive Customer Service
I recently purchased a Starter Account from Statista for 1,609.20 USD, expecting immediate access to a wide range of content. Unfortunately, I was unable to access any of the advertised free information. I contacted their customer service within 24 hours of purchase and followed up several times, including reaching out to their team in Germany. Despite these efforts, I received no response or resolution to my issue. This experience has been highly disappointing, highlighting a lack of effective customer support and failing to meet the promised service standards.

As per the terms you agreed to when purchasing the Starter Account (formerly the Single Account), unless contractually agreed otherwise, the Starter Account subscription is valid for a period of 12 months and prior to expiration is automatically renewed at the regular monthly price for 12 months. The cancellation period is six weeks prior to the end of the subscription. For your convenience, I have attached the product description you received and you will find the cancellation policy on page 4.
When you select the package you are going to purchase, it shows you exactly what is included and what is not included in the Starter account, so you are always aware of what you are purchasing, as you can see in this table below: https***********
So if you need specific reports, you can either buy them individually online or upgrade your account. The table above shows what each account has.
At this time, I have made a note to your account, saying that you do not wish to renew your subscription for the following year, but we are unable to refund due to the terms and conditions stated above.

All our terms of use, terms of validity, cancellation periods etc. are not only disclosed at the time of the booking and must be actively agreed from our customers. We also include all important documents in the following confirmation email. These can be viewed at any time during the entire term. We are therefore under no obligation to remind each customer of a possible renewal before the end of the cancellation period. There is nothing criminal about it, because these things are restricted to consumers within the Distance Selling regulations and not for the business sector.

Il rinnovo automatico è molto pericoloso. Se si disdice prima del rinnovo a volte non va bene, perchè da contratto (non molto chiaro) la disdetta deve essere fatta con anticipo, diversamente da qualunque altro servizio cloud che si limita a non rinnovare se si disdice prima del giorno del rinnovo.

The statistic that you mention was consolidated from a source that only shows the years that are also displayed within the statistic on Statista. Dodgy sales emails
Signed up for a free account. Was sent a random email from the sales team with what looked like an invoice. Clicking on this then wanted to redirect me to another service. All the hallmarks of a phishing email. The Statista sales team told me it was a 'presentation I might be interested in' aka a sales pitch no doubt. Fine, but work on your comms strategy as your emails look like SPAM and make me wonder if my account has been compromised. I closed my account. Avoid.

Misleading and not to the level of B2B…
Misleading and not to the level of B2B expectations: beware that the subscription will be be renewed automatically without any notice and with no retraction possibility nor customer care.
You don't have a contract document or information on the invoice of the renewal and cancellation policy of this company, no proactive information neither. Just when you call an answer about "it's in the conditions that you acknowledge at the moment you subscribe that you should ask for cancellation 6 weeks before the automatic renewal (= 1 year ago), we don't have the ressources to inform customers". @statista: if you don't have the ressources to provide a B2B normal service like proactive information, then I don't recommend you for B2B customers. Practices of this company are under the B2C level, with invoice amounts of multiple hundreds (>700 EUR).
Quality of information does not worth it, @Any B2B or marketing professional passing by these reviews: don't subscribe.

Paid account doesn't give access to almost anything. For any report, you need to pay additional costs, but you would see this only after buying the paid account.
And it's impossible to close the subscription. They just ignore the cancelation requests and send new bills.
