MY ONLY WISH IS TO GIVE THEM A LOWER SCORE

I could not warn people to stay away more from this joke of a company! My bike was stolen because of the poor equipment they provided and then process got worse and worse from there! I could not cancel my subscription even though the bike was stolen so they took another months payment, the then cost of stolen bike was ridiculously high even though locks provided are easy for thieves and then every step of the customer service has been comical and taken months of my time and administration with unhelpful and rude staff - conflicting policies that don’t work and a want to send everything to a debt collectors from their faulty systems! When I want to escalate the complaint it’s refused and people on the phones don’t have the ability to help and some very rude!
Stay away unless you like being robbed, taken advantage off and terrible service.

Option to change bike

I wanted to change my bike and the staff did allow for it. They said it was working well, so no reason to change. I thought I had the option, but it turns out I don't. When I have time, I'll search other rental options

They failed to take a payment from me…

They failed to take a payment from me and sent the overdue money to a debt collector in under 4 weeks. TERRIBLE.

Unfortunately, if the payment is still not made by the new given date, the invoice will be sent to the agency.

Shocking Mismanagement and Unlawful Data Sharing

My experience with Swapfiets has been nothing short of infuriating. Their handling of my account demonstrates systemic incompetence and a blatant disregard for customer rights.

On 29 November 2024, I received a reminder stating I had 15 days to pay an outstanding balance. Without justification, Swapfiets escalated this to a debt collection agency, ARC Europe, six days before the deadline, sharing my personal data unlawfully. Despite acknowledging an internal issue with their reminders, they have refused to take full responsibility for their actions.

This premature escalation has not only caused unnecessary stress but has also potentially jeopardised my credit score. To make matters worse, Swapfiets seems incapable of understanding that their mistake invalidates any subsequent reminders. Their attempt to blame customers for "lack of communication" is both insulting and dismissive.

I have since discovered that this is not an isolated incident. An acquaintance experienced the exact same premature escalation to debt collection, further confirming a systemic issue within their operations.

Their actions constitute a clear breach of GDPR regulations, particularly regarding the unlawful sharing of personal data. I have demanded that they rectify this mess, ensure all data held by ARC Europe is deleted, and prevent any credit marks on my record.

If you value your peace of mind and expect fair treatment, avoid Swapfiets at all costs. Their inability to own up to their mistakes, combined with their lack of customer care, is appalling. I will be reporting them to the ICO and pursuing legal action if this matter isn’t resolved immediately.

One of the best companies for bike…

One of the best companies for bike rentals, their prices are good for the regular bikes, although the electric options could do with a price reduction. Very good customer service and very quick to address any issues, all for free, including regular check ups.

Andy at the Brick Lane store completely…

Andy at the Brick Lane store completely made my day. After the bookings team messed up my pickup, he stepped up to the task and got me on a Bike outside of his working hours and the operating hours even!
Hope they appreciate what a great asset Andy is to their team!

Excellent service and competitive price.
Jose helped me setting up the bike and explaining how everything works. The bikes are great and very well equipped with lights, pannier and lock.
100% worth it!

Bicycle broke during first ride

The rear mud guard came off during the first 15 minute cycle ride. I have had to wait a week to get this fixed, therefore I am currently in receipt of a bicycle I cannot use. Waste of money so far!

Terrbile company! Avoid them!

Very disappointed with the last service, i had to replace the battery, it started to drain more than usual. At my first appointment, I've met Jose and he couldn't give me a new battery, strange to be honest every time i used to get my battery replaced. I've booked another appointment, this time Jose was in the shop again but i was late 30min and he refused to help me telling me to book another appointment because i was late. Frustration started to build up, i've complained to the company, i received the message that my contract would end at the end of the month because "my behavior was not aligned with their culture". This is an odd situation, they canceled my contract because I wasn't happy with their service. I've been with them for more than one year, and customer service quality is decreasing from my experience. Avoid them!

We work on pre-booked appointments to manage customer flow and stock levels at the store.

The team always try their best to help and make a lot of exceptions, when possible.

Unfortunately, on this day, your late arrival to the appointment disrupted other appointments.

Since we have to be fair with every customer, Jose asked to book a new appointment for a better time.

It is quite rare for us to terminate a contract abruptly, and we understand this is heartbreaking.

However, we came to this decision because we value respect, kindness, safety, and professionalism, and we don't tolerate any kind of aggression towards our staff.

We are sorry that this has ended on a bitter note and we hope we all learn something from it💙
