Extremely disappointing experience – Serious concerns about my signature and customer service
I am extremely disappointed with this company’s lack of transparency, professionalism and accountability.
When collecting vehicle LA26CCZ, I was given only one page to read and sign. It contained my personal details, vehicle photographs, mileage and details of existing damage. A member of staff walked around the car with me, showed me its condition, and I signed that inspection document only.
I was never informed that a separate rental agreement was available through a link on the tablet, nor was I given the opportunity to read and knowingly accept those additional terms.
My serious concern is that the signature on the separate agreement is identical to the one I provided on the inspection page. I dispute knowingly signing that agreement or authorising my signature to be copied or reproduced on another document.
I raised a formal complaint requesting an explanation, supporting evidence and a refund of the disputed admission fee. Unfortunately, my complaint was rejected without satisfactorily addressing my concerns.
The customer service was equally disappointing. On 23 October, a member of staff working alongside the finance manager spoke to me extremely rudely, saying words to the effect of, “We have already talked about you and we know,” before abruptly hanging up the phone.
I later raised this incident directly with the finance manager on 26 October. Although the finance manager was not rude to me personally, I was disappointed by the lack of an apology or meaningful acknowledgement of the staff member’s behaviour.
My concerns remain unanswered:
* Why was I not informed about the separate agreement?
* How did my signature appear on a document I dispute signing?
* Why has nobody properly addressed this serious concern?
* Why was I treated so disrespectfully when simply trying to resolve the matter?
I am asking for transparency, accountability, a proper investigation and a full refund of the disputed fee.
A company’s reputation is defined by how it treats customers when things go wrong. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously damaged my confidence in this company.
I would advise prospective customers to carefully check every document and digital agreement before signing anything.

The petrol was not full when it arrived
The petrol was on 523 when it arrived I took screen shot according to their own terms and conditions it has to be returned full which I did and it filled at 534 when I complained they said it depends on driving conditions and temperature that is why it wasn’t full?????? Show me where it says that in the terms and conditions if I had returned it not full they would IMMEDIATELY take money out of my account but when it’s the other way round they make excuses SWITCH CAR RENTAL APPLY YOUR OWN TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND REFUND ME
Look at switch car rental reply they have not answered my question where does it say that in the terms and conditions ???? They sent me an email stating the matter is now CLOSED

As previously explained, the range displayed by a vehicle is an estimate and can vary based on a number of factors, including driving style, road conditions and temperature. For this reason, fuel levels are assessed using the fuel gauge, not the estimated range shown on the dashboard.

Charged £141 for "damage" 3 months after returning the car
I am absolutely shocked by the underhanded billing practices of Thrifty Car Rental (Scot Group Ltd). I was provided a rental vehicle through Renault to use from February to first week of July 2026 while my car was being repaired. When the hire ended in July, I was explicitly instructed to return the vehicle directly to the Renault dealership where I was collecting my own car, which I did.
Now, nearly THREE MONTHS LATER at the end of October, I have suddenly been sent an unexpected invoice for £141.25 claiming "damage" based on an Audatex report for an alloy refurbishment and a bumper touch-up.
I will never recommend them to anyone. Avoid this company if you don’t want surprise bills months after your rental ends!
