Starting the search for a new puppy can feel overwhelming, especially with the scary tales of puppy mills out there. Thankfully, I was paired with three breeders through a service that feels like a matchmaking app for prospective dog parents and breeders. After an interview with Tailwise, each breeder reached out to me without any pressure, and the one I selected has been fantastic. The breeder has been incredibly supportive, providing regular updates throughout the pregnancy, birth, and ongoing puppy development. I believe this service is excellent and wish Tailwise great success in their new endeavor.

So far my experience has been really positive. The breeder I spoke to was probably the most thorough passionate breeder I will ever have the fortune to meet. The point being that Tailwise seem to be very choosy about their breeders (that’s kind of the point!) In turn the breeders get to pick the best ‘families’ for their puppies. The £95 is payable when you apply for a puppy, but refundable if you’re unsuccessful. I did give it consideration but felt £95 was a small amount given the cost of a puppy. If you don’t have a local breeder you can trust then I would highly recommend Tailwise!

Really underwhelming experience! Created multiple applications just to be rejected each time probably due to discrimination. One breeder wasted weeks of our time by taking ages to reply and by the time they finally rejected our application we’d missed out on puppies from other litters. Plus the fee to Tailwise is £95 and they expect you to pay that before even speaking with the breeder to check if going ahead with the application is worthwhile or before you’ve seen which puppies are still available.

We emailed Tailwise multiple times to find out if they could prompt the breeder to give us a response and they didn’t even get back to us.

We’ve managed to find an ethical breeder in our local area no thanks to Tailwise.

Not happy with tail wise at all 1st they let you do a 45 mins video call with them then to leave you hanging emailed a few times then just randomly sents you and email saying your not acceptable when you ask why they can’t give you a answer years of breeding Labradors and making so many family’s happy I thought tail wise would be a great place to share my Labradors puppys

We had been thinking about getting a dog for a while. We thought a cavapoo would be ideal but we knew they were very puppy farmed and really wanted to avoid that as the dogs involved are so abused. We found Tailwise through Twitter and decided to give them a try. They were brilliant! It took a while for us to find a match but that was ok for us in order to ensure an ethical breeder. Beverley from Tailwise emailed to say they had found us a match but she was worried as we live in London and the puppies were in Scotland! That was fine for us as we have friends in Edinburgh. The breeder, Claire, interviewed us on FaceTime and we were all able to ask lots of questions of each other. I think there was a worry that we lived in a flat and it might not have been a suitable environment for a puppy but we were able to set Claire’s mind at rest. We are both retired and live next to a park, so that helped. We obviously couldn’t visit the puppy but Claire sent us lots of photos and videos which was great. We went to see the puppy for the first time 4 days before we took her home. She and her 4 siblings were all in a very comfortable, clean pen in Claire’s front room. They had lots of toys and were allowed out to play in the front room and kitchen. Their mum was there and was obviously a very loved member of the family. Mum and the puppies were extremely secure and happy. We were very pleased with the environment they were being brought up in and we really couldn’t have asked for a better breeder. Martha is now 8 months old and has turned our lives upside down!!!! We would not have been able to have this adventure without Tailwise as it was so hard to find an ethical breeder on our own.

We found the right breeder almost immediately. She met, indeed exceeded, our expectations. The Tailwise ‘process’ is straightforward, easy to use and very good value for money. For all those who feel that the process of finding a dog/puppy is fraught with risk, Tailwise will help put you in touch with the breeder most likely to suit your budget and your needs.

Easy to use service that helped me find a puppy that I knew had been looked after by the breeder. It gave family information and was very informative.

Stumbled across Tailwise on Google, we don’t usually sign up for sites but we were really keen on making sure we found a healthy, happy puppy to join our family. We had been looking on the kennel club pages but couldn’t find a suitable litter. We liked the ethics of the site and felt confident in reaching out to one of the breeders. Only criticism would be that we live near Manchester and the breeders looked more Southern based - we will have to drive for three hours to collect our new puppy but we are prepared to do this because it was more important to buy from a reputable breeder.

I stumbled across tailwise when browsing for a new puppy and I'm glad I did.

The process went really smoothly and having the information about the dogs health and the information about the breeders is also a bonus.

I feel more safe and secure using tailwise as the owners also want to know about you to make sure the dog is also going too a good home

We sent a application for a new puppy and within a few hours they wanted to have a chat and now we are going to pick our new puppy up on Friday with all health checks and injections already complete.

What a fantastic site Tailwise is promoting reputable breeders, We have no room in society for puppy farms and this site is the solution and way forward to screen out the puppy farms.

lovely lady spoke with us and asked lots of questions before approoving us as one of the carefully chosen breeders to work with tailwise. she checked everything, she looked at our litter of puppies in our bedroom and asked for lots of info. this is a company who obviously checks breeders very well. this can only be a good thing to filter out people breeding in the wrong way.

I bought a cockapoo pup through Tailwise and am very happy with the puppy I bought. I originally was not sure what the best way to go about buying a puppy. It is 20 years since I had one and I was very wary of scams that have been advertised in the media.
The breeder was brilliant and sent photos and updates all the way through from birth to when we picked the pup up. She has been very helpful since too.
I would recommend Tailwise to anyone looking for and buying a pup.

Helps to have somewhere to start as looking for a new puppy can be daunting and there are so many horror stories about puppy farms! I was matched (love the fact it's Tinder for breeders and wanna be puppy parents :)) with three breeders, all of who contacted me following an interview with Tailwise - there was no pressure and the breeder I chose has been amazing. Super supportive,m keeping me up to date with the pregnancy and birth and puppy development all teh way through. I think the service is great and I wish Tailwise every luck as a new venture.

I bought my 9 week old cavapoo from a breeder listed on Tailwise. They charge a small admin fee if you choose a puppy through them as they only use reputable breeders. For me, it was worth every penny! He came trained to use pads and he’s very healthy and has a gorgeous personality! The whole process was brilliant. We were looking for a puppy for our family and weren't sure where to start. A friend had unfortunately had a very bad experience of buying a puppy independently, even though, they had done all their research the dog wasn't fully the breed they had been told. I wanted to make sure I had support through the process so I booked a consultation with Tailwise and had a lovely conversation with Beverley Cuddy, who has a wealth of experience of dogs. Beverley went above and beyond in providing information to us about different breeds of dog and which might be more suitable for our needs. The conversation was worth every penny.

That means that every potential owner application I receive via Tailwise will automatically go straight to the top of my pile.

Like most breeders on the Tailwise site, I invest huge amounts of time, money and effort into raising healthy, happy, confident litters. I work to high standards and ensure that my dog and puppies enjoy a loving family environment, with plenty of stimulation and a high standard of care. Sadly there are many breeders out there who don't treat it so seriously with significant consequences for the future health/behaviour of the puppies and for the mum. I understand that as a potential puppy owner it can be difficult to ask the right questions and sift the rough from the smooth. Be reassured! Tailwise grilled me before they allowed me to join! You can have confidence that they knew the questions to ask me... In fact, they had LOTS of questions! In return, I now have confidence that serious potential owners can find me because it is those same high breeding standards and practices that have allowed me to join Tailwise .
