TeacherActive Reviews

Indeed Teacher Active is a great connection between me and schools I enjoy working with. Luke has provided the enabling environment to work without stress and they are just a phone call away when you are in distress. The Newcastle team members are receptive and quickly sort your challenges. I did enjoy working with the team this year as my availability on the app. was always considered. Thank you

Luke Thomas is an outstanding human being. I have worked in many agencies but the kind of relationship Luke and Teacher Active have shown is almost second to none.

I have had a wonderful experience working with TeacherActive. From the very beginning, Luke Jacobs has been professional, supportive, and always quick to respond whenever I needed help. He has consistently matched me with suitable placements and made me feel valued throughout my time with the agency.
I would also like to thank Ambra Di Gennaro and Emma Pounder for their kindness, professionalism, and excellent communication. The whole team has been friendly, approachable, and genuinely committed to supporting both their staff and the schools they work with.
As someone working in education and care, I appreciate how reliable and organised TeacherActive has been. They have made the process of finding work straightforward and stress-free.
I highly recommend TeacherActive to anyone looking for a trustworthy agency with a supportive team. Thank you, Luke, Ambra, Emma, and everyone at TeacherActive for making my experience such a positive one. I look forward to continuing to work with you in the future.

TeacherActive is a wonderful Agency to work with. They work with many schools and they help you find schools around the area you reside for work. As an international and a UK qualified science and mathematics teacher, I have gained a lot of UK experience working as a supply teacher and cover teacher at different schools. Many thanks to TeacherActive and especially *Luke Jacob* and colleagues at the Newcastle Office for believing in me and putting me forward for long-term and short-term roles.
I will always recommend TeacherActive Agency. They are nice to work with.

I’ve had a fantastic experience working for Teacher Active in Swansea and I really can’t recommend them highly enough. The registration process was seamless and very straightforward and I received work every day that I was available at schools local to me. Thank you to Georgia Harries and Melanie Cooper for looking after me so well since I joined the agency it’s been a pleasure working for you.

Noel K in the Birmingham office couldn’t have been more patient & helpful during my re-registration today. I have had very positive experiences with Teacher Active in the past as well - thank you Noel & Jaimie Y ⭐️

A pleasure to work for. Communication is brilliant. Straight away I had Mia's contact details and can WhatsApp or text whenever. I can also call up and there's always someone to talk to. They are so approachable and helpful! Schools I've been in through Teacher Active have been lovely. I also find their emails and app very useful- job openings and loads of online courses.

I would highly recommend Zahra at TeacherActive. From the very beginning, she has been professional, approachable, patient and genuinely supportive. She took the time to understand my experience, skills and career goals and always matched me with suitable opportunities.
What I appreciated most was her excellent communication, encouragement and positive attitude. Zahra was always available to answer questions, provide guidance and offer reassurance when needed. Her support helped me build confidence and navigate my career journey in education.
Thank you, Zahra, for your dedication, kindness and commitment. It has been a pleasure working with you, and I would highly recommend both Zahra and TeacherActive to anyone seeking opportunities in education.

As a whole this agency is great to work for. They find me work very fast which soon became longterm. I have had both Rob and Tom in the past, both of which were very helpful and good with communication.

Just down 1 star as in the past I was sent to a school under the impression I would be a TA but was told upon arrival I was actually the supply teacher, despite being paid the TA rate.

Overall though, great agency.

Do not waste your time with this company. You apply, they then waste your time with pointless requests for information, and then reject your application based on information you had previously provided them with. Stay away.

It was a waste of time registering with this agency. Elise appeared very friendly and helpful but on the whole the communication with the agency was so unprofessional in terms of never having an email or call returned (I made several calls and emails). I even expressed my concern and offered feedback it's the worst agency I have dealt with in Liverpool.

My experience with TeacherActive was very disappointing.

I did not feel treated fairly as a candidate, and despite repeatedly asking for feedback, I received little to no meaningful response. Communication was inconsistent and at times unprofessional.

I also found it concerning that the same roles were repeatedly advertised, which raised questions about the transparency of the recruitment process.

Due to these concerns, I submitted a formal complaint to the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate.

Overall, I felt undervalued and not properly supported throughout the process. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this agency.

Only two days work with them sending back my availability seemed more of a tick box situation. Told them I am available numerous times since I got back off sick numerous times but not got back to me

I’ve been working for teacher active for a while now and there always very helpful my contact rhian has been helpful and listens to what I need she has been very helpful and supportive. I’ve had constant work so far and happy with them as an employer

I found everyone at Teacher Active in Exeter to be warm, friendly and efficient. Jasmine found me a great job and then another one which has led to me getting a permanent job. I really like the way Jasmine kept in touch using WhatsApp, as it's so immediate and handy, and all the goodwill and encouragement to try cover supervisor work in the first place. Thank you Teacher Active!

Teacher Active is a reputable agency and it’s clear that they understand the challenges, trends and terminology of the teaching industry.
They will always provide honest feedback, even if it’s not what you are hoping to hear. They build good relationships and my Consultants Nicola and Deion checks in regularly, offers post-placement support and takes an interest in your future plans.
You always feel like you are in good hands.

Used to be great when Melissa was there now discriminate against me because I made a complete, gave my job to so called 'qualified. Teacher.

Misleading and ignorant people who lack manners, honesty and integrity. My friends and I graduated in June of this year and decided to give it a try by signing up with this agency. The recruiters were not bothered responding or clearing us for work. I refuse to believe they have an army of teachers at their disposal, considering that there are plenty of agencies in the city.

I registered with TeacherActive to work as a Behaviour Mentor and provided all the required documentation—a lengthy and detailed process. My references were contacted before I was even offered any work, and I also paid for an enhanced DBS check.

I had a successful interview and was then asked for additional information. I provided this information and was from then on completely ignored.

This level of disregard is highly unprofessional. It is unacceptable to share so much sensitive and personal information with an agency under the impression that there are work opportunities—only to be completely ignored.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend TeacherActive to prospective staff or to schools looking for a reliable and communicative agency.

Since then, I have registered with another agency, which has been highly professional, and I have been working successfully through them.

Victoria, my consultant, is always available to help.
She is very friendly and supportive.
I would highly recommend working for Teacher Active
