Huge thanks to the team at Teacher Active for their excellent support with my referral process. They followed up thoroughly every step of the way. A special shout-out to Elise — she was incredibly responsive, even when covering for colleagues who were on leave. Really appreciate the dedication and quick communication. Highly recommended!

Avoid TeacherActive – Misleading Process and Questionable Practices
I’m writing this review to caution other potential candidates. I recently attended a hiring event hosted by TeacherActive, along with a group of other job seekers.
We participated in group activities, after which the company selected a few individuals to proceed to the interview stage. I was among those selected and completed three interviews one on the day of the event and two more during the week.
After going through the entire process, I was ultimately rejected, with a vague and unconvincing reason given. During the process, one of the hiring managers even mentioned that multiple candidates had left the company in December, which raised some concerns about staff turnover.
What’s most troubling is that the same vacancy I applied for has been reposted several times since my rejection. This suggests the listing may be a “ghost job,” which is not only misleading but also highly inconsiderate to job seekers who invest time and energy into the process.
Another concern is data privacy. With the number of candidates they process, it’s unclear how TeacherActive handles personal information and whether they are truly GDPR compliant.
In summary, I would advise job seekers to be cautious and consider applying elsewhere. There are plenty of more transparent and respectful companies out there.

Hi Jordan
We appreciate all forms of feedback, so thank you for taking the time to write this review.
I'm sorry that you feel you were given vague feedback at the hiring event. We always aim to be honest and transparent with our decision-making process. We held several interviews during this hiring day and, at times, we won't recruit anyone for a role if we haven't found the right person, given our rigorous process and high standards. We can appreciate that this may be frustrating for previous applicants when we re-post an advert, however, this does not mean we are posting 'ghost' job adverts.
We are fully compliant with GDPR legislation. You can find our privacy notice on our website https://www.teacheractive.com/app/data/tmp/images/Privacy%20Notice.pdf
To fully understand your experience and investigate this further, we would require further information from you. Please get in touch at feedback@teacheractive.com with any comments or questions, and a member of the senior leadership team will be in touch.
Kind regards

Full of false promises
This outfit promises you lots. They even promise that after 10 assignments (cant remember exactly as been so long ago) with them your DBS fee is refunded. Well sadly thats all they are. Full of promises with little to show the other end. 2 years and only one measly job. Waste of time.

Unprofessional, Not to be trusted; they caused me to suffer a financial loss.
I do not trust this agency (Preston) due to my negative experience resulting in a significant financial loss. Despite my efforts to provide my personal information to three staff members multiple times via phone and email, my file was never cleared in time for the interview/trial. My file should have been prioritised to be ready for the interview/trial. This oversight caused me to lose a week’s pay, as the interview date was rescheduled several times. I turned down other agencies to be available. Consequently, I requested that my data be removed because I no longer trust their assurances.

Don't waste your time
Wasted my time doing an online onboarding session, only to be told I would then need to come into the office just so they could scan my passport!!
Also falsely advertise jobs. The job I enquired about and was then given the school didn't even have a post available (I checked with another agency and then my friend who knows someone who works there). Sadly it seems this is many agencies way of getting you to register with them.
Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time with these guys, plenty of other more transparent agencies out there.

Hi Chris
We appreciate all forms of feedback so thank you for taking the time to write this review. We’re sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the onboarding process, having evidence of physical proof of identity is standard practice during our onboarding and compliance process. This is to confirm that we have verified that the document is a true document as well as a true likeness to the individual. This process is set out both by the government and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
We work closely with all of our schools and through our direct line of communication can receive specific roles to hire for. Due to this, others may not be aware of the role available as it is not advertised elsewhere.
If you have any further comments or questions, a member of our senior team would be happy to discuss these with you, please email feedback@teacheractive.com and we would be happy to assist.
Kind regards

My experience was not good
My experience was not good. Wasted my time inviting me into their Birmingham office for absolutely nothing they couldn't have done on the phone or online. Low rates of pay and taking hardly any time to consider qualifications and experience. Despite taking time out of my day to travel into Birmingham (at my own expense) was told they could not copy my documents due to "IT" issues and had no consultants who were available to talk to me as they were all busy. Rubbish.
