Ordered for valentines day...order didn't turn up and was delayed by DPD and we were away from 15th. Said I should've ordered for the day before, but I wasnt there, and that it was my fault so wouldn't give me a refund. Disgusting service and £80 in the bin.

The order was delivered 24 hours later than the agreed date, and I received no communication from the seller. Very poor communication. I suspect, though, that it was DPD’s fault rather than the seller’s. Nevertheless, the oysters were super fresh, and the crab meat was the same.

I paid ridiculous prices for fish from this price.The fishing industry is on a death march.It is finished and when it's gone it will be gone forever.It's like pubs,hackney cabs and Michelin Star restaurants.They all treaded a very fine line and have now crossed it.An absolute rip off of an industry.

Cooked shelled lobster arrived to day 231225 at 1300 hours. Totally defrosted. 2 months past its sell by date of 211025. Country of origin NE Atlantic - not quite Cornwall !!!!
Straight into the bin with it.

I ordered sardines and some other fish. They wrote to me, saying they didn't have sardines that day, and asked what to do. I instructed them to wait until they have sardines, and then ship my order, which they did. The package arrived nicely chilled. The fish was by far the best I had in the UK, obviously, freshly caught wild fish. Thank you, guys. I'll be a regular.

I found the website and ordering process clear and straight forward. I took the advice on the order confirmation to have the order delivered a day earlier incase of any courier delays. The Fruit de mer was excellent with a nice selection. No cooking required which swayed me to choose this item over others. I particularly enjoyed the oysters they were a good size. Thank you.

Great gifting ideas. I sent my Dad a Thermidor hamper for Father’s Day. I was a little apprehensive at first, coming all the way from Cornwall to North Wales. But all arrived perfect. The lobster, as well as the sauce, were thoroughly enjoyed. I would 100% recommend. I’m already planning my Christmas order.

I ordered 2 dover sole. Paid £57+. Smallest dover sole I’ve ever seen. One was 442 grams, the other only 286 grams. I’ve bought a Dover sole in Waitrose for about one third of this price (and definitely a larger specimen). I complained to the company, and they are going to refund me for 9 grams of fish. I presume this is a joke, however, I’m not laughing. I feel totally ripped off and will never deal with them again. Judging from the reviews for the whole of this year so far, they seem to on a self destruct trajectory. Shame I had to pay so much to help them along it. Please note Cornish Fishmonger, a complaint handled well will assure you of a loyal customer who will sing your praises to anyone who will listen (regardless of the original complaint). Badly handled complaints lose you far more than just that one customer. Avoid this company, they’re going downhill fast (read reviews).

I ordered 4 portions of king crab claws, but I ended up with 4 portions of crab legs, thin spindly things with hardly any meat in them.
When I complained I received appalling customer service, the lady who emailed me was most aloof, and dismissive, I wouldn’t use this company again, I know there are much much better seafood and fish companies available

The fish ( salmon and mussels ) should have arrived frozen. Both were totally defrosted and warm. When I contacted the company they glibly said ‘ oh they won’t affect your health eating them. Surely the point was I paid for good quality fish and that should be a guarantee but it was very tasteless. There was no offer of cost reimbursed

Such a sad experience.
Delivery never came for the day I ordered.
Company did nothing but refer me back to the terms and conditions on line.
Mussels currently rotting on my driveway as the reason I ordered for said day was I was going on holiday for a week the following day when DPD chose to dump them on the driveway.
Really disappointing that they’ve enjoyed my £50, DPD will have been paid by them and the only person in the whole transaction to lose out is this CUSTOMER. Loss of £50 and never got to eat the mussels.
I shall now be buying elsewhere, which is super sad given I’ve been a loyal customer for many years.
Avoid if you want your order on time, or if it’s not want them to care about it.

I ordered fish from them from the internet the rd mullet looked good on the website when it came I got 8 fillets were no bigger than 75mm to100 mm long minute and it was £54 a rip off the turbot I got looked nice but at over £90 it’s works out at over £90 per kilo rip off ,I would never use them again have bought fish off the internet before and it’s always been value for money stay clear of this rip off company BEWARE

When I ordered my lobsters they were going about how fresh they were.. Ordered it all on my phone, and there was nothing not a single thing. that said Id be getting frozen rubbish!

As a past customer of Fish for Thought I thought I’d continue to use the company, post take over, thinking it’d be the same - how wrong was I ?!
Actually the delivery was on time and well packaged and the lobster was very tasty but oh my word how the sauces have deteriorated!! The lobster Thermidor sauce was bland plain and tasteless- it tasted of …… nothing. Such a comparison to the creamy delicious luxurious sauces we used to get from Fish for Thought. The crab sauce/soup is the same :(( such a shame. Could you bring back the old FFTh sauces please?

The present firm succeeds Fish for Thought with whom I have dealt for many many years. Sadly the new company is very heavy on self promotion and not so good on supplying fair priced and truly fresh lobsters. My latest purchase was for 24 oysters( all perfect) a kilo of mussels (quite a few dead on arrival) and the smallest split lobster which was overcooked and sinewy Also tasteless and frozen. Sad to see standards slip. Everyone has a bad day. Let’s hope the next order blows us away.
