The Move Market has listed my daughter’s house that is for sale but she has not instructed this company to sell her property. It is listed as in poor condition although it is only three years old and is in immaculate condition. Although the house has been valued by three agents at similar values,THE MOVE MARKET has significantly undervalued the house.
THE MOVE MARKET was set up by a director of Property Platform Solutions, registered office 85 Great Portland Street, sounds impressive but it’s a kind of virtual office where you can rent a meeting room.

The the ownership of this company then changed to Termite Media Ltd. Yes you’ve guessed it, it’s owned by the same director.

The registered office of Termite Media is 55 Station Road Beaconsfield and their accountants are JLA Accountants in Darlington.

All the above information is a matter of public record and is available free of charge if you search on the COMPANIES HOUSE BETA website. Its an interesting website to browse as it details all the information regarding companies, financial results and directors.
There’s no suggestion of anything illegal, more a case of smoke and mirrors. Unfortunately the company that operates THE MOVE MARKET does not respond to messages to amend or delete property details listed on his website, even though you never asked The Move Market to list or sell your property!

I am pursuing the matter with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to enquire if The Move Market or its Director is in breach of GDPR rules?
One test being Principals, where data held is being assessed on accuracy and fairness. I am contesting with the ICO the accuracy and fairness of property details and valuations on The Move Market website. Is it fair that my daughter’s property is described as being in poor condition when it’s in excellent condition and when no one from The Move Market has inspected the property? Is it fair and accurate for The Move Market to undervalue the house when they have no knowledge of the local market or my daughter’s house?
My daughter has filed a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman asking they investigate The Move Market and whether the inaccurate information held on their website has caused financial loss, aside from the stress and anxiety it is causing.

Presumably if the Financial Ombudsman rules favourably in this matter and a property owner can demonstrate The Move Market has caused financial loss, compensation may be claimed.

I am also engaged on behalf of my daughter with one of the top Claims Lawyers, again on a No Win No Fee Basis.

As I have pointed out above there are a number of free of charge actions that can be taken.
Hopefully, if enough people who feel aggrieved by the adverse effect The Move Market has had on their house price / valuation, the director / owner will desist from listing properties where the owner has not instructed The Move Market to sell their house.
I have since discovered that my own house is also listed on their website showing photos of the house when we bought it SEVEN YEARS AGO. Since owning the property, we have extensively extended and renovated the house including new bathrooms, kitchen, fitted wardrobes etc. Despite the house not being for sale it is still listed on THE MOVE MARKET’S website and describing it in poor condition, this is a joke, The house is in immaculate condition and the property valuation is of course totally incorrect.

Valuation of my house om this website is £210000 but if I want a quick sell it recommends £198000. Identical houses regularly sell for £300000- £340000. Waste of time looking at this website with such inaccurate and random prices guesses.

Said property had increased in value by 8000 after around 10 months after sold then 4 months later suddenly it had decreased by 2000?? Make it make sense. Really untrustworthy and bad practice. Not sure why it is still allowed to operate?

Themovemarket directors name and identity is on UK public records via the company registration number and UK Companies House (.gov) website. No record of qualifications in property valuations have been found after extensive searches, no apparent history in property industry (bar a trash website launched 2017). Absurd 'finger in the air' valuations that repeatedly appear to undermine actual property values. Possibly a fraudulent entity with malicious intent to devalue properties not in a certain 'club'. Please see @TheMoveMarket tweet 9 Nov 2017 where the director reveals his disgusting modus operandi (whilst touting for business). For clarity and to save Trustpilot members the trouble, the following is an extract of the directors tweet ... 'If enough people and publishers 'say' house prices are falling, it is bound to lead to downward pressure true or not' NB - to 'TheMoveMarket' (& its director) : IF the tweet I refer to above is 'taken down' I will REDOUBLE my intention to expose you and raise it's profile via other routes ... trust me.

I noticed my house listed (and completely under valued) on the move market! My house is NOT up for sake and the photo listed is not even my house but one down the road! I habe emailed with my proof of ownership and requested they remove my property along with the wrong photo. This is a breach of my privacy and my ownership - l have no idea who this naff company is!!! Surely this is illegal. I shall be contacting my legal team.

I literally just tried to get an extra valuation/opinion from a non-local agent(as it seems my all locals “work” for one very wealthy person and always undervalue every property in our quaint historic village…) But point is-this specific site could not even Do valuation!!!..Never worked with particular older properties and couldn’t possibly compare mine to the other one that was sold on the same street,same year bla bla 😂 hilarious really..I’ll continue my research!

Totally fake website. Don’t be fooled and the price listings not only undervalued but laughably so.

Another company trying to make property valuations , everyone I see or speak to they have valued the property soo low this a a very poor site to use for a guide , hopefully this site gets taken down for false information and guess work

This company are listing our property 100k less then the current value. Almost inviting people to offer a low price.
Misleading, and misguided. You contact them and they don't respond. I am now going to contact the ombudsman with a complaint.

I checked their 'sold price' at the Land Registry for an apartment I was considering and their information was totally incorrect.

Their assessment of a property (I already own) according to them has increased in value by 68% in ten years which they rate as a one star investment!

If you want the real facts about a property, register with the Land Registry (free) and pay £3.00 for a title register.

Try telling and complaint on web site. No such luck, it does not allow this. Must have a law against these cowboys.

elementary school algorithm that bases price on previous sales which depend on a bunch of factors; home improvements/deterioration are not factored. On the other side, unrealistic jumps in value in some properties sold few months ago

Going on to google i was alarmed to see the property i'm selling valued under by £30k. I believe this has massively effected the online auction to which my propert is in. This Company is at the top of google search above Rightmove & is giving incorrect valuations due to lack of knowledge of the property ie improvements etc. This Company should be seriously looked at!!

On 17 June, I raised a question concerning the valuation of two named properties that happen to be the same property (due to a name change 6 years previously). However, this website values for these "two" properties varied by £300K! Nearly 3 months later, themovemarket has still bothered to make any contact with me.
This website is a total waste of space.

This is a con-site. Valuations are completely ridiculous. Currently undervaluing my property by £100K plus. When you contact them to update the dimensions and other important details you get no response, and no action ever taken. Please close this site down. I wouldn't care but somehow it's No.1 in Google and annoying when you spend a lot of money on your home and it's misrepresented at the top of all search engines.

Highly inaccurate valuations. Wish they would close their website!

We emailed them twice to inform them of an incorrect valuation of one of the properties they had on their site due to an incorrect size on the EPC. This shows the value of the property higher than it actually is. They have not responded on either occasion nor rectified the details even though the new EPC has been done. I thought I was doing the right thing but obviously they cannot be bothered. Advertising false information. Shall not use their site again

I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with the movemarket.com. The website's publication of inaccurate and false property information is concerning. As a user, it is essential to exercise caution and verify the details elsewhere. The misleading content can lead to detrimental consequences, and I strongly advise seeking more reliable sources for accurate property information.

Three emails sent to try to amend my property details which are incorrect - website states semi detached instead of detached. (They claim the use land registry data, but I’ve confirmed with LR that they have the correct details). I’m trying to sell my house, so this inaccurate information in the public domain really isn’t helpful. :-( And as for the ‘valuation’…wildly inaccurate!
