I bought a $3000 TroyBilt ZTR Mustang 42" in May. It needed a repair in June after 4 uses!!!. It rides really rough and noisy. It's either a "lemon" or this model is more cheaply made than the ones in the past. I had the same mower in 2016. It lasted for 10 years. The new model is inferior. TroyBilt customer service was awful. I would like to return it. TroyBilt will not allow a return. They want me to wait until something else goes wrong and then repair it again.

I’m a 73-year lone senior female. I own and reside on 1.75 acres of homestead property. I bought my first riding mower online from Walmart, at a cost exceeding $2,000.00. It was a Troy-Bilt. The first time using it, a cable snapped. The cable was approximately three-feet long, not much thicker than a strand of hair! I come to find out the warranty mandated me to have it serviced only at its designated provider quite some distance from my residence who provided no pick-up service. I begged Troy-Bilt to consider certifying a service provider near my area; Troy-Bilt refused. I ended up selling the mower on Marketplace for pennies on the dollar. Between Troy-Bilt’s gross lack of customer care and its tractor cable better suited to fit a Barbie Doll-sized mower, I EMPHATICALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THE TROY-BILT BRAND!

I ordered a brand new mower online from the manufacture. It was missing parts & a plastics piece on cable was cracked. So, it wouldn’t engage self propel. They had me send it to a shop of their choice for warranty repairs. 3 months later, many claims & still no mower. The shop unable to do repairs till Troybilt sends parts. Their customer service is terrible & their warranty dept located in S Africa. Just put in more claims. Accomplish nothing. What a joke ! If I had bought this through a third party ( Costco, Homedepot etc..) I’d had a full return. I will never buy their sorry product again. This small hiccup just minor set back. I went bought a new Honda ccv mower. When I get this Troy bilt garbage back. I find it a new home. Life learning experience ! Live n learn 🤪😩

Horrendous! Bought the z54 Mustang less than a year ago and it has been nothing but trouble ever since. Before we ever used it we woke up to the blades on the ground, which were already rusty. Customer service did nothing so we gave up calling and complaining. They refused to service it and only offered a service location that was two hours away and I'd have to get them over there at my own expense. I then asked how can I return this POS and an associate literally told me I should "donate" it...sure a $5k mower! This mower and dealing with Troy Horrendous! Just bought a Troy-Bilt self propelled lawnmower from Costco. I haven’t started it yet but as I’m getting ready to do my first cut of the season, I noticed that the rear wheel height adjustment lever is bent (from factory). There’s no other way for it to be bent as the lever is protected by the wheel. Now the lever rubs against the wheel and doesn’t allow the different stops to pop into the slot in the lever. That slot is just cutting into the rubber stops. Such a small thing to stop at manufacturing but instead now I have to deal with it. Not impressed. I hope the rest of the unit is beater than this.

Needed to order a carburetor for our lawnmower. It wasn’t clear on whether gaskets were included, so I phoned. The representative assured me that it came with gaskets. Guess what, it arrived without gaskets. Called again, next representative said no it didn’t come with gaskets. I have now ordered the gaskets separately and now have to pay a shipping charge. If I had received accurate information in the first call, I would have ordered the gaskets at the same time as the carburetor with no shipping fees.

I just purchased a new Troy-bilt edger from Menards. I put it together added the oil and gas and tried repeatedly to start it without any luck. It smoked like a freight train a few times and after 45 minutes of trying to get it started I gave up. Tried to return it and that’s where I had another problem. You can’t return a gas powered machine from Menards until you take it to an authorized repair shop to see if they can get it fixed. If they determine it is broken then you can get a return number and then you can try taking it back to Menards for a refund. Wasting my gas a time driving all over the place to try and get a new product working. Call the 1-800 number and got the total run around, yeah I cussed them out, and when they told me they didn’t appreciate my attitude I told them I didn’t give a crap. I just spent $275 on a POS that won’t start and now I have to spend more money and my time to get it fixed, F you Troy-Bilt

The company said our ordered part would take 5-8 days to ship. Never got one of the two parts. 5 calls and always told another week for it to ship. After 6 weeks I called to cancel. Told them I also should be reimbursed for $7.49 shipping fee since the item didn’t ship. The second part was a $6 spark plug that we added in but could have bought locally. Customer service agents very hard to understand and just read from a script.
Now it’s 6 weeks with a snow blower torn apart and we have to find this part elsewhere.

I bought a new walk behind TB310B. The bagging system was the wrong size. Spoke with 3 people at troy bilt. Sent pictures of receipt that it was purchased 6 days ago and of the wrong parts with the bagging system. Finally the last guy i spoke with said they sell these. I asked about why the wrong ones were in the new box i got? He said go to the store and let them clarify that it is wrong but there is nothing we can do. I will never purchase a troy bilt again.

I unhappily own a Troy Bilt vortex2890 snowthrower. Not only was this the most expensive snowthrower I've ever owned, it was also the biggest piece of garbage.
From the first snow, it gave me nothing but unreliable performance. the only thing worse than this equipment is the customer service. After an hour on the phone attempting to speak to someone who had a working knowledge of English, I finally reached a very kind gentleman who had absolutely no knowledge of the product. Unless you are looking for a very expensive doorstop or anchor, I would not recommend this purchase.

About 3 + years ago I bought a Troy built tb51 backpack leaf blower. I did some research and it had good reviews.it stopped working and I took it to a repair store. (One that sold Troybuilt leaf blowers) About a week later I received a call stating the blower was beyond repair. The repairman assured me that this was unusual. They usually last 5 to 7 years. My son after some research said Troy built should be good. He ordered a new one. On December 27,2025 I opened the box,read the instructions. It worked great on the first tank of gas. Part of the way on the second tank it started missing and then it stopped. Unable to restart it I finished my lawn with
My corded electric blower. My son said he sending this one back. Since I am finished with my leaves for the year I have until next year to research which on to buy nex

Troybilt is an historic brand that has been trashed by its current owners. They've harvested the name to slap on poorly built, unreliable products they use the brand to charge a premium for. I own a Troybilt riding mower. I literally spend nfar more time repairing it than I do using it. We have a large lawn, and I have never completed cutting the lawn without spending at least an hour repairing various parts of the mower. It was returned twice. This is the third one we have received, and we have given up on the process of returning it for a "working" one. For starters, literally, it can't hold a charge and requires a jump from another vehicle anytime you want to start it. When it stalls in the field (a frequent occurance) I literally pray it will start on its own. Usually god has bigger fish to fry - I used to walk back to the barn and bring a battery out, then I purchased a lithium jump starter, and most recently I permanently wired a jumper cable set to the mower battery under the seat to speed up the process. The mower has difficulty going up small hills, also the brakes slip when going down hills, so I expect there are or will be lawsuits when folks get hurt. The metal is of very low quality and threaded parts strip after a few replacements...you will replace a lot of parts. I foolishly relied on the brand name, which I remembered from being a kid. Don't make the same mistake - research more than me and buy a brand and model from a reliable, local seller who also services your specific model.

I used the blower one season on my own yard. It died before the leaves even started dropping this year. No service centers will touch it in Kalamazoo MI. Manufacturer was no help. Drive an hour just to have them tell me it's not covered? Don't buy Troy built. They are garbage.

I purchased a Troy-bilt walk behind Roto Tiller two years ago from the Troy-bilt webpage. After using it once I noticed the seal on one of the wheels was leaking gear oil. This same problem happened to an older Tiller I had. I was going to fix it myself but after watching videos I decided not too. Today I call Troy-bilt support and of course the person spoke broken English. I provide the Model and Serial number. Of course he can't find anything. Troy-bilt products are not worth the money. If the seal didn't happen to my prior Tiller I'd say okay things happen. Just poorly made equipment.

This edger was problematic to start from day 1. The starter rope finally broke from all the wear and tear. Since I just replaced the carburetor last year, and it finally starts okay, I wanted to replace the starter rope. I ordered the part online. Omg, then came the WORST EXPERIENCE ever.

1. Never received shipping information for order. Nothing beyond order information.
2. Looked up order tracking on website. Error
3. Called customer service after 3 weeks. Told it would be delivered that day. Nope.
4. Called again 2 days later. Same. It would be delivered that day. Nope.
5. Called week 4. Placed another order. Promised shipping information would be sent. Nope. Nothing beyond order information.
6. 7 weeks later. Look up order status. Error.
7. Called. Told me it would be delivered today. I requested tracking be sent to me email. Tracking goes from "out for delivery" on 6/14 to updated today on 7/28 while ststing it wouldarrive today. This is clearly a tracking / system error. No detail between 6/14 abd 7/28 showing a new order was placed.
8. Called customer service AGAIN. They cannot expedite shipping, even after 8 weeks. I ask for diameter of starter cord so maybe i can find replacement elsewhere. She tells me 3 inches. No way a cord is 3 inches wide. Refuses to dig deeper to get accurate number to help me. She gives attitude when I explain that there's no way a starter cord is 3 inches wide. Won't transfer me to someone who can help. Phandeka. Alex prior. These reps are horrible.

This company SUCKS. Stay FAR AWAY.

finding a great lawn mower for me and that fits me.

I tried to order a part via phone call. They charged me twice on one order; claiming my first card was declined, then after I used a second card, I see that both were charged. I get no confirmation email and have to call back multiple times to even verify my order because they claim they lost my order number. Not to mention you have to put up with their automated system to get to an agent that cannot manage to put in a parts order and send a confirmation email. I spent over $300 and I have no clue if I will ever see the part I ordered or get my money back.

Keep getting fraud charges from this company from people that steal cards then buy from this site. This is honestly getting old. I did an out of normal transaction and I think I am positive exactly which company did this unauthorized charge. Dribble like this is why I keep my credit limit low. This is like my third unauthorized charge from this company over the past 3 years. Their products aren't rated all that highly either.

Bought a part online from Troy-Bilt. Their computer picked part and told me it fit. It didn't. Returns are horrible here! I talk to a tech at first and that was great. He found the correct part and then transferred me to customer service. And that's where everything went wrong. Guy acted like it was my fault I got sent the wrong part and wouldn't send a return label. I have to pay for return postage. When I objected to that the customer service rep hung up on me. Great! Will not be buying any parts here again.

We recently bought a new Troy-bilt mower after our old one finally gave up after 10 years of hard use. Well after the first 10 minutes this new one fell apart. After inspecting the damage I found that the front and rear wheel assembly are held on by cheap plastic clips and after the first bump in the yard it came of and got damaged. I contacted Troy-bilt Customer Service and they refused to honor the warranty or even help out with parts to repair this cheaply made product. They claim that since we bought it from an online retailer that is not one of their Distributors they would not help us out, even though this is their product and is brand new. I myself work for a major equipment manufacture and we take care of our customers regardless of where they bought the equipment from, it is still our product.Shame on you Troy-bilt. Needless to say I will no longer be buying their prducts
