Tufina Watches Reviews 

I purchased a watch from Tufina in September. On receipt of the watch, I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging quality—specifically the quality of the container it was stored in. Overall, the watch I received was of good quality considering the price-point (~$350 including all discounts) and decorative complexity (fully-automatic self-winding skeleton watch). It looked good too—even compared to their online presentation of the product.

I wore the watch daily for ~4 months without incident, including for daily athletics such as running, tennis, mountain biking, soccer, weightlifting, and downhill skiing. The face never scratched and the chassis never developed blemishes or discoloration. I was able to wash it in the sink (not advised, but I did it anyways because I trust the 5-atm rating it came with) and was able to keep it clean.

My only complaint at the time was that it was losing around 20 seconds per day, but this was consistent and within a reasonable realm of error—not indicative of poor quality control or cheap movement (the consistency of this loss more or less suggested that it could use more tuning). But I did not inquire to address this on its own.

The real reason for this review is because I had a very positive experience with their RMA process. Essentially, I had a minor mishap and needed to call on their 2-year-warranty policy. While skiing GS, I mistakenly struck a gate with my fist. It was enough that my knuckle was bruised and swelled for a couple of days. Potentially as a result, the minutes hand of the watch may have been knocked loose alongside another internal decorative ornament (or otherwise, it could be seen as an accumulated result from daily usage).

So, I put in an RMA request. The remainder of the internal components were in working condition, and the watch showed no signs of external damage. I was told to simply fill out a form describing the issue along with some other information, and to ship it (both the form and the watch) to an address (within the US, where I am from). I was not interrogated and was simply asked if the watch experienced ‘impact’ (to me, this implied a direct form of collision.. which did not technically occur), to which I replied ‘no.’

I was told to give them 8 weeks to fix it (this seems relatively standard). As of this week (within the specified deadline), I have received the watch in working order. During the waiting period, they were responsive (and it was a human response) on the email chain, enough that they actually provided a shipment tracking number when it was already almost back to me.

Also, I mentioned (in my RMA request) that I would appreciate them looking at the tuning once more. Since receiving my watch again, I have noticed an improvement in the time-loss I asked about and no longer see a measured day-over-day loss or gain.

Of course, I do plan on being a little more considerate of the watch (or rather, myself while wearing the watch) going forward. But seeing as they have proven the legitimacy of their advertised warranty, I wanted to say something about it. As such, I DO NOT RECOMMEND STRESS-TESTING THE PRODUCT AND EXPECTING THE SAME RESPONSE OR TREATMENT I RECEIVED FROM THE CARE TEAM AT TUFINA. Their warranty and RMA system is completely legitimate (in my experience), but I do not want my anecdote to result in any type of consumer negligence, nor to serve as an endorsement of it being tolerated. For anyone curious, the specific model of watch I purchased is: ‘Theorema Oslo GM-110-6’. It has a sapphire crystal face and looks pretty decent. It is well built and functionally sound.

I had such an amazing experience with this company that I had to share. I originally ordered a replacement band for a watch I bought years ago, and shortly after, I received a message pointing out that the size I ordered didn’t actually match my watch. At first I was a little skeptical, but they were completely legitimate and genuinely looking out for me.
Not only did they catch the mistake, but they went ahead and corrected the order for me to make sure I received the right band—no hassle at all. The level of attention, honesty, and proactive customer service was honestly above and beyond what you usually expect.

Also a testament to high-quality German craftsmanship. THIS is German craftsmanship. Among my collection, the most beautiful watch I own is the Tufina Madrid with the blue background. Bei der Reparatur meiner Uhr Theorema Paragon, deren Garantie bereits lange abgelaufen war, stellte sich heraus, dass die Teile nicht mehr verfügbar waren, sodass die Reparatur nicht mehr durchgeführt werden konnte. Da ich die Reparatur bereits bezahlt hatte, wurde mir eine völlig neue (identische) Uhr zugeschickt, ohne dass ich dafür extra bezahlen musste. I purchased the Tufina Buenos Aires watch (silver with black leather band) last month, so I’ve been enjoying it for several weeks. I was impressed with what I learned about this century+ family owned/run watch company early in my discovery process. After looking at skeleton style watches for several months, and always coming back to the Bueno Aires as my favorite, I made the purchase on a Friday afternoon and the watch was out for delivery the following Monday.

The watch dial is a little larger than other watches I have (which I like about it) and provides sufficient room for the 3 sub-dials. I like having the second hand in the center sub-dial, and the dual time sub-dial is useful if you travel across time zones and works accurately. The lunar sub-dial is not “moon phase”, rather rotates between day (sun) and night (stars) and is a fun addition. The skeleton structure itself is absolutely stunning and I love that I can see the spring (heartbeat) and other gears. This is my only watch that I need to wind each day (though it has spring power for about 2 days), and like another reviewer mentioned, it is a nice morning experience to wind it up and put it on my arm, before starting my day.

I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this family owned company who were very quick to answer a few questions I had after receiving the watch, and then checking in with me again a couple weeks later to see if I had any further questions about this very nice time piece. I will likely purchase another Tufina watch in the future when another one grabs my attention like the Bueno Aires has.

Actually this junk does not even deserve one star. First the watch came in with a damaged case (cheap China)
next the watch was still working, so I informed them they credited my account for $20 after bout a few months the watch was not working they asked me to run it about 8 times clockwise with the winding key they again after a few days we are back to the same cycle. I don't know where you purchase a brand new watch and it needs to be run clockwise for 8 times. Obviously like many Chinese companies they will not 1. replace the watch 2. Give me a refund. I am out of $500.
Always stick to the older brand names from reputable Swiss/Japanese makers and don't waste any money on fly by night brands, as this one. They are mostly Chinese companies that are masquerading as German or Swiss companies.
Everyone be careful of specials like buy one and get another for half price that in itself is a RED flag. Anyone can have a office in Germany and state that the watch is from Germany, this is absolute trash and that's where I put it, in a trash can, will never buy stupid brands like these in future.

Tufina has many styles and I decided on the Florida Diamond Pioneer. The watch arrived fast, well and professionally packaged. When I took it out of the box I was blown away by its stunning black appearance and gold trimming. I could not for the life of me figure out how to set the day dial. I emailed and within 15 minutes Elsa replied with how to use the function. Time (no pun) will tell but so far I love this beautiful watch.

The watches are nice to look at. They expensive for what you get but love the looks and can live with it

I would say if you want the watches just for the looks then tufina is ok, the watches are not worth more than $200 to $250 that also I would give it just for the looks, if I have to spend more than that I would rather get a movado or some well known brand. Their return policy also sucks. Since there is a restocking fees. So if you really like the watch then and only then you should buy it because returning is a big hassle. So be a 💯 % sure if you are ordering. Oh yes and for some of the watches setting the date and time is a hassle and yes cheap material. I bought three of the watches and I am stuck with it.

I bought 2 watches and both are very beautiful. The red one was a little more orange than the picture but still very nice. I would buy again from them
