My bad ... NOT!! (addended x 2)

My bad , forgot to check reviews on this company and frankly I paid for it... [EDIT]£157.74 for nothing

... 5th November 2025 I contacted EP to get a price for fixing the right hand channel on my ARCAM amplifier , I sent the amplifier for assessment. EP acknowledged receipt on 11th November.
Quote finally received on 10th December after some nudging on the ( claimed they were very busy ... OK). Quote included over £100 of extras which I opted out of. I accepted the revised quote to get the RH channel fixed.

The AMP was returned to me at extra cost , quite poorly packaged but sound.
I tested the amp to find that the amp RH channel still didn't work ( they had not completed the requested fix) and requested an RMA ...

EP claimed to have found a second fault which they should have repaired the first time as the request ( and agreement) was to get the RH channel working , which they did not do.
For this additional work EP wanted a further £90 plus postage ... they would not listen to my complaint and denied they had not fixed the agreed work.
By this time I had enough and requested the AMP;s return at £40 costs !!!!

If you value your sanity, I would AVOID these people at all costs, whilst they are polite, they seem to extend the repairs and do not put any value on carrying the agreed work ... VERY dissatisfied customer with burnt fingers,

ADDENDUM - [EDITED] plugged in the amp today, 7-01-26, and lo and behold the treble and base [and volume] dials do not work now ... I paid well over £130 [actually £157.74] for an AMP to be repaired and got it back in a worse condition ... and the casing was damaged too - what a load of incompetents these guys are !!!

Thanks for your review. This Arcam amplifier was diagnosed with a fault on the right-hand driver amplifier circuit, which was successfully repaired and returned fully functional. Optional work to replace aged capacitors — recommended to support long-term reliability — was declined. The unit was later returned under warranty with a new issue affecting volume control. Our inspection confirmed the original repair remained intact, and the volume fault was due to a damaged potentiometer — a separate component outside the scope of the initial work.

The subsequent labour charge was a modest £65, which reflects highly reasonable pricing for professional amplifier repair in the UK. Claims of £40 shipping are incorrect — standard return postage is £7.90, with a £14.90 surcharge for heavy equipment if applicable. Totally professional and efficient

From initial contact requesting an estimate for repair to the job being completed, the communication from the company was excellent. They needed to see the item that required fixing before they could provide an estimate but they provided the necessary pre-paid address label to send it to them. They gave the estimate which included a detailed description of the work that needed doing and once I had accepted the estimate and paid, they promptly went ahead with the work and then sent a review of the tests they carried out afterwards. I paid the invoice for the return postage and received the working item back a few days later. I was kept updated every step of the way.

Was given a quote for repair of DJI…

Was given a quote for repair of DJI mini drone, which was more than the drone value, so I declined repair, but was hit with £67.59 return fee. No mention in there web site to warn you, I feel coned

Thanks for your feedback. Based on our terms, all DJI drone assessments carry a standard service charge when repairs are declined after diagnosis. This is clearly defined under Section 2.1 of our Service Fee Schedule on our website and applies regardless of the outcome or repair value.

The total invoiced amount includes the diagnostic fee for drones and the return postage cost, both of which are outlined in our published pricing. These charges are also confirmed prior to payment and dispatch.

Terrible customer service

I sent a radio in for repair on the 18th November. On the 17th Dec it was sent back to me but I was working and the courier - DPD - ended up taking it to a designated drop off point. I awaited a code to pick it up and this wasn't sent. I contacted DPD and they said the drop off point - a shop - wouldn't take the package so it was sent back to Electronic Partners who then booked it in for a repair even though it had already been repaired.
It's now the 24th Dec and I still don't know when my radio will be returned.
They use a call centre in Brazil and AI for customer service. No-one is at hand to resolve problems like this and obviously the company is saving money at our expense. I can only hope their repair job is better.
What a pity repairing goods has become so difficult and we have to pay and spend so much time just getting something returned.

Thanks for your feedback. The radio was repaired and dispatched on completion. Delivery was attempted by the courier, and subsequent redirections were requested to a neighbour and then to a nominated pickup location. The collection point declined the parcel, after which the courier returned it to us.

These events relate to delivery handling after dispatch rather than the repair itself. Once returned, the item was logged back into our system in line with standard process and is now being prepared for re-dispatch.

To repair or not to repair? That is the question!

My device arrived back in the same condition it was sent in, despite claims the device had been 'fixed'. I have proven this with video evidence.

No actual evidence was provided to support the claim that the device was repaired. I shall now be taking this matter further.

No help at all

I sent a turntable to Electronic Partners for repair as the automatic tone arm wasn't fuctioning. Having not heard anything back from them, I twice had to ask for an update. The first response was a standard "repair times are longer than usual" reply, however the second request (sent 21 days after they received my turntable) finally prompted them to actually look at my item. Unfortunately they didnt repair it, barely explained why or what the issue was & then had me pay an extortionate amount to send it back still unusable. Would not recommend

Electronic Partners advertised that…

Electronic Partners advertised that they could repair the Internet radio on my Cocktail X10 music cd ripper/player. The cd hard drive stored my collection of 237 cds and worked perfectly when I sent it to Electronic Partners. Only the internet radio was defective when I posted it off for repair. 2 weeks later my machine was returned to me with an email stating that they could not repair the radio and when I fired up machine I find that they have either wiped the hard drive or removed it completely as it indicates there isn't a hard drive fitted.
I only wanted a radio fix and they have turned my player into a lump of junk.
Do not ever trust these people with anything, they will ruin it.

Could not what they advertised and charged £58 to return item

I shared the model, make and serial number of a boiler PCB board that required testing before sending and was told they could work on it. The device brand and use was even listed on the website at a key heading.

The response was quick (a few days) but they responded to say they could not test the device without the boiler being attached.

The cost to have the device returned to have someone else test it was nearly £60 and I had been without heating of hot water for a week, which is a total waste of time.

They really should be more clear on what they can and cannot repair and when they get it wrong, they should pay the return postage and just apologise.

Based on our diagnostic process, no faulty components were identified on the board, and the programmable IC cannot be functionally tested without the full boiler system connected. This dependency is a standard limitation in boiler PCB diagnostics, and in such cases we can only report on the condition of the board as received.

The charges applied were the standard service charge, return postage, and the priority option selected at booking for same-day handling. As no repair work was possible, no additional costs were applied.

Absolutely great service

I wouldn't usually bother writing a review unless I've got a grievance, something I'm always wary of when looking up other people's reviews, however in this instance I was really impressed with the service I'd received with these guys.

My Asus ZenFone 10 had an issue where the SIM reader no longer worked for reasons I still don't understand. Given the value of the phone I was worried the repair would be stupidly expensive and yet it was very reasonable, in fact it was less than EP had initially quoted me.

Granted I paid the extra for the express service but I was still pretty chuffed by the fact that I'd sent it off on a Monday and got it back again on the Friday.

They were really good at keeping me up to date with the process and made sure the phone was well wrapped when it was sent back.

I'm writing this review in part to remind myself to use these guys again if I ever have another electronic issue.

The communication with and from the…

The communication with and from the company was excellent - so many thanks for that. I was getting a circuit board checked and repaired for an Italian commercial dishwasher. When I was dropping off the circuit board to be tested/repaired, the premises themselves were a little offputting - unmanned so I had to call to get someone to emerge and that occurred though a call centre in Brazil which was a bit weird... However the process from there on was faultless and the net result was a fixed circuit board for considerably less than a new one.

Do not do business with this company

Do not do business with this company. Sent my beats pill XL to them around June 25 my battery would no hold a charge they said battery was dead needs new one £150 so I paid it. It came back to me exact same way I sent it to them. so I sent it back then they tell me another part has broken on it and it will be £94 and yet I had a Analyse sheet to say all working there response was it was working when they sent me it. I said it obviously wasn’t so I reluctantly paid the extra £94. Another Analyse sheet saying all fixed but it does not hold a charge I have to keep it plugged in for it to work so can’t take it outdoors with me. These people will con you out of as much money as they can. This as been on goin for around 6 monthsAvoid at all cost.

Based on our diagnostic records, the first assessment identified a faulty battery, and this was replaced to allow full functional testing. After completion, the speaker powered on, charged, connected via Bluetooth and produced audio normally. The single-LED indicator noted at the time relates to the device’s internal microcontroller behaviour and does not affect charging or playback.

Several months later the speaker was returned with a new, unrelated fault — no sound output. Our diagnostics confirmed a failed audio IC, which is separate from the original battery repair. In line with standard repair terms, warranties apply only to the parts and labour involved in the initial repair, so a new quotation was issued and approved before this second repair proceeded.

Both repairs were completed according to the findings at each stage, and we can only report on the condition of the device as received during each assessment. The charges applied were the standard diagnostic and repair fees associated with the approved work, along with return postage.

CD player to be repair

I had a Sony CD player to be repaired that was part of my Hi Fi system. I contacted Electronic Partners website and left an email to see what could be done. I received a reply and requested a quote, within 24hrs I received one. Once I accepted, I got a free return label. I had to box up and take to Post Office, but there was an option for it to be collected. Once they had received package I got an email and picture of its receipt. Then it was a case of waiting I got a couple of update emails and did chase them after 15days when it went quiet. Once fault was identified I received an invoice and estimate of completion and then the player was delivered back to me repaired. It was straight forward and they were easy to contact via email with timely responses. Only issue I had was the chaser as it all went quiet for a lengthy period. I had no problems but I was not in a hurry and had the patients to wait. They do provide a fast track service but I don't know how much that would have costed.

Sent my pre amp with the mc input not working, they sent it back still not working, saying THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG reported it and they insisted that it was okay, if i use the mm input fine mc not working.£70 lost

Based on our diagnostic process for the Nakamichi CA-5E, the unit was extensively tested and the reported MC-input fault could not be replicated. All inputs and outputs, including the phono stage, operated normally under controlled test conditions. When a fault cannot be reproduced, no component-level issues can be identified, and a reliable repair isn’t possible without a confirmed failure. This limitation is standard in amplifier and hi-fi diagnostics.

The charges applied were the standard diagnostic fee and return postage associated with the assessment.
