The software is easy to use
The software is easy to use, it guide you step by step. The staff are very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable to help whenever there is a problem or some difficulty with the software .

I didn't receive emails or voicemails…
I didn't receive emails or voicemails to renew ultimate tax by June 30 and they charged me $200 extra to pay on July 7.

It's unfortunate that you didn't get the notifications. We sent those to all of our customers and our renewal process, our renewal process offers discounts till June 30th and then it is our normal price. Glad our team got your setup with an earlier renewal for next season. Since you renewed, I am assume that the software and support are working great for you. We ask for reviews, on our process, I understand that you are not happy but I think a 1 star is a bit tough, but thank you for being a customer.

The person that tried to assist me was…
The person that tried to assist me was totally incapable of understanding my question or my problem. She then transferred me to another person who also did not seem to know what I was talking about. And both of them kept telling me what I was seeing and what I was doing when I tried to explain to them they Over talking me and not paying attention to what I was telling them. It was an extremely frustrating call dealing with this situation. My problem has not yet been solved the advanced tech was supposed to call me back with further information however I have not received that call. I was totally disappointed with the assistance I received and I considered it a total waste of my time.

We do our best to solve all issues. Sometimes there are issues that we struggle with. Since we do not control the environment that the software is woring on we do occasionally run into issues. We do not close tickets that have not been solved, so I am sure they are still trying to figure it out.
UPDATE - our customer support gave you an answer on your issue. The program is working as intended. There is not a work around for how you want to do it.

The software needs updates
The software needs updates, some firms are not in the system, customer service in the past has been horrible with their favor phrase ( I am not a tax preparer) even though you are calling for technical support rather than tax advise.
This has some what changed at the end of the season with some ladies taking over the customer service.

Extremely Satisfied
I've been using Ultimate Tax for many years. I have been extremely satisfied with every aspect. This could very well be a 5 star rating but, I was always taught that there is always a way to improve a service or product.

There are a few forms that need attention such as 8863-- EIN number of College, and drop down for who is claiming credit that appears in return.
Also worksheet for 1099G EIN number that automatically inserts Gov agency.

Ultimate tax is reliable and efficient. When ever I need some technical support, they respond quickly. It really feels like they are family. I thought about leaving last year but the trust I developed with them forced me to stay. I highly recommend Ultimate tax.

Room for improvement
There is plenty of room for improvement - the company is not competitive to other software companies who offer better discounts when you are a returning customer. They don't have packages that will allow you to only purchase separate business software to which you only need one verses all (including individual tax forms).
Slow response to emails requesting assistance to resolve software issues.

We have tried many things over the past 15 years. Our renewal rate is one of the best renewals in the industry. Yes, it would be nice to charge less, but unfortunately, we have to pay the bills too. We are usually pretty good at responding to our emails all day long. Though when we are closed we encourage you to use our extensive knowledge base. Thank you for the honest comments.
