Membership sign up are scams.
I signed up for a membership with unlimited vacation club at the breathless hotel in Dominican Republic last year only after I confirmed with the sales agent that the Moon Palace hotel in Cancun Mexico where my son's wedding would be held was including in my membership. I even provided the Moon Palace hotel name and address to the agent and his supervisor and they both had confirmed that the Moon Palace was listed on the membership plan as a choice of hotels.
Five months later, I tried to make reservations at the Moon Palace Hotel for my son's wedding and was told that the hotel was not on my membership plan. Had I known this in accurate information from the beginning I would have never signed for this membership with Unlimited Vacation club.
I was given inaccurate information by the agents from Unlimited vacation club and was scammed into purchasing this membership knowing the fact that the Moon Palace hotel was not included.
I have never used this membership. I tried to cancel this membership recently through the Better Business Bureau because I was misled and scammed into purchasing and Unlimited vacation club refused to cancel my membership due no fault of mine. The club did not even apologize to me for the inaccurate information that their agents had provided to me prior to signing up.
Unlimited Vacation club scam its members, takes your money and unable to deliver what was promise to members prior to signing their contract.
Unlimited Vacation club is not a member of the Better Business Bureau due to their inappropriate and shady business practices, so buyers before you decide to purchase a membership suggest that you research this club, read their reviews and also contact the Better Business Bureau in order to avoid been scammed.

UVC Member: Get Every Promise in Writing
I’ve been a member of Unlimited Vacation Club for a while now, and after our most recent trip to Secrets Akumal I’m honestly beyond frustrated with how this program is being handled.
First issue was the room. I booked an ocean view room. Secrets has different ocean view categories, including preferred ocean view. I specifically asked about preferred and was told I didn’t need to pay for that because I was already a UVC member.
We get there and our room is basically all the way in the back of the resort. Later we find out the preferred ocean view rooms are up toward the front, which is obviously where we would have wanted to be.
The difference in price was around $50 for the entire week.
Fifty dollars.
I would have paid that without even thinking twice if somebody had just explained the difference correctly when I booked. Instead I relied on what I was told as a member and ended up with a room location I never would have chosen.
Then there was the situation with the two couples we brought with us.
We upgraded our own membership on this trip and one of the couples we brought actually purchased a UVC membership themselves. So between our group, UVC got an upgrade and a brand new membership sale.
We had been told there were two ways to book guests, guest certificates and unlimited sharing. We understood that guest certificates didn’t automatically include preferred access, but we were specifically told that if the guests booked a preferred room, they would get preferred access and wouldn’t have to attend a presentation.
The third couple booked a preferred room.
They then tried to charge them $400 because they didn’t attend the presentation.
How does that make any sense?
They paid for a preferred room, we upgraded our membership, and the other couple literally bought a membership on the same trip. Apparently that still wasn’t enough and they wanted another $400 out of the third couple.
The biggest issue though is what we were told when we upgraded versus what customer service is now telling us.
We were told multiple times that after upgrading, the people we brought would never have to attend another presentation and that we would still get the nights/benefits for bringing people because they simply wanted members bringing new people to the resorts.
This wasn’t mentioned once in passing. It was part of the reason the upgrade sounded valuable.
Now the customer service line is telling us that isn’t true.
So either the people selling these memberships don’t understand what they’re selling, or they are telling people whatever they need to tell them in the room to get the upgrade signed. Either way, that is a huge problem.
The Hyatt hotel rates were another big selling point of the upgrade. We were shown rates that made the program look extremely attractive. Now that we’re actually looking at the rates available to us, they are nowhere near what we were shown during the sales process.
It honestly feels like smoke and mirrors. Everything sounds amazing when they are trying to get you to sign, and then once you actually try to use the benefits, the story changes.
I’m not expecting everything for free. I’m not expecting every upgrade in the world. I just expect the things we are told when spending thousands of dollars to actually be true.
We upgraded.
We brought two couples with us.
One couple bought a membership.
The other couple booked a preferred room.
And we still somehow ended up arguing over a $50 room difference, a $400 presentation charge, guest benefits that apparently don’t work the way we were told, and Hyatt rates that look nothing like what was presented to us.
Secrets Akumal itself is a beautiful resort. My issue is with the way Unlimited Vacation Club is sold and the way the benefits are explained.
If you are considering buying or upgrading a UVC membership, get absolutely everything in writing. Do not rely on what somebody tells you during the presentation, no matter how clearly or confidently they say it.
If they tell you your guests will never have to attend another presentation, get it in writing.
If they show you Hyatt rates, take pictures and compare them yourself before signing.
If they tell you a certain room category or membership benefit gives you preferred access, get it in writing.
We spent a lot of money with this company and brought them additional business, and somehow we came away feeling like every benefit had an asterisk attached to it that nobody bothered to mention until after the sale.
I’ve already contacted customer service and given them the opportunity to address this. If they make it right, I’ll update this review and say so. If they don’t, people considering UVC should know exactly what our experience was before they spend their money.
Scam
As all the other reviews state the fine print is endless with these guys. Trying to book? Difficult. Wanna talk to someone? Good luck. Ready to go somewhere? Extra fees. Multiple trips? Not within 30 days of each other. Such a scam.
Sales reps misrepresention of flexibility of contract
Sales reps misrepresented what I could do with the actual contract. UVC corporate is not helpful at all and is literally using the term he-said she-said around this situation.
Misleading, bothersome and rude employees.
Not only did we get mislead into spending thousands of dollars with this company, they also proceeded to bombard us with attempts to upsale us after we purchased a vacation plan stating what we purchased wasn’t really sufficient. This is AFTER initially convincing us that we were making a great (yet expensive) choice. Then, a customer service rep ( Shajaira) proceeded to get very rude in email with my wife when navigating confusion around failed call attempts. All in all, we spend thousands each year on multiple trips. Typically 1-2 are international. And I’ll spend my money with any of their competitors before I spend another dollar with UVC.
DON´T BUY HYATT OR RCI MEMBERSHIP
Jerry sold us the membership in Cancun. They sell memberships based on misleading promises. We were told that we would receive seven free nights and that there would always be availability whenever we wanted to make a reservation. However, when we tried to book, the hotel told us that reservations must be made at least two months in advance and that there was no availability. We were also told that, at certain hotels, including the Mita property, we would have to exchange two of our free nights for just one night. None of these restrictions were clearly explained to us when we purchased the membership.
WARNING TO OTHER TRAVELERS
WARNING TO OTHER TRAVELERS – MY EXPERIENCE WITH UNLIMITED VACATION CLUB
I am posting this because I believe other travelers should know about my experience with Unlimited Vacation Club (UVC) before agreeing to a membership or attending one of their sales presentations.
I signed a membership agreement while vacationing in the Dominican Republic. I subsequently exercised my right to cancel the membership and made it very clear that I did not want to continue with the club.
Despite this, ERICK GILDARDO JIMENEZ ORTIZ, or individuals representing the club/resort, have continued contacting me by telephone every few months.
I have made it clear that I DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED.
What is particularly disturbing is that when I contacted the company regarding these calls, I was told that they had not contacted me, despite the calls I have received.
At this point, I consider the repeated unwanted contact harassment.
I am formally requesting that:
1. Unlimited Vacation Club, its resorts, sales representatives, contractors, affiliates, and anyone acting on its behalf immediately cease all telephone calls, text messages, sales solicitations, and promotional communications to me.
2. My telephone number be placed on every applicable internal DO-NOT-CALL / DO-NOT-CONTACT list.
3. UVC investigate why ERICK GILDARDO JIMENEZ ORTIZ or representatives associated with the resort/club continue contacting me after cancellation.
4. UVC provide written confirmation that my information has been removed from all marketing and sales contact lists.
5. UVC preserve its records concerning my membership and all communications, calls, account notes, and contacts associated with my name and telephone number.
My advice to anyone considering Unlimited Vacation Club is simple: do extensive research before signing anything. Read the entire contract, research cancellation rights, and do not rely solely on what you are told during a sales presentation.
My experience has left me feeling trapped and extremely frustrated. Even after I canceled, I have continued receiving unwanted contact months later.
I will document every future call, including the date, time, telephone number, caller's name, voicemail, and screenshots of my call history.
UNLIMITED VACATION CLUB: THIS IS FORMAL NOTICE. DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN FOR SALES OR MARKETING PURPOSES.
I am sharing my personal experience so that other travelers can make an informed decision before joining.
They don’t care about doctor’s orders.
It’s as bad as the comments are making. We made a deposit for a trip with them, I became pregnant and per doctor’s orders due to health concerns cannot travel. I provided them with a doctors notes, they refused a refund and extended the period of time needed for the voucher to be activated. That extension is still while I’m pregnant.
Fine, I paid a nonrefundable deposit and they’re welcome to do that but they have continued to call me 4+ times since then to book the trip just rubbing salt in the loss of the $500 deposit.
On top of that there’s more blackout dates than listed on the voucher so it’s much harder to use than anticipated.
Just stay away, they’re crooks.
Company continues to call me
Company continues to call me. I am on the national do not call list.
Be aware of Unlimited Vacation Contracts
Be aware of Unlimited Vacation (UV) contracts. You are not getting a package what you paid for. Also, there are hidden maintenance fees, changes to your contract regarding RCI which were not brought to our attention at the time of purchase.
At the airport we were offered a free sight seeing if we can spend 1 hour. We were sent a car, given lovely lunch and the sales pitch was more than half a day. Initially we were pressurized to trade our Hilton Club contract to get UV contract. Fortunately we didn’t trade our Hilton contract and then we were forced into buying a contract to try out 6 weeks vacation for 5 years for $7,000 USD + maintenance fees.
When we called UV to activate, to our surprise, we found 1 of the week with UV to pay additional $1,900 USD and 4 weeks transferred to RCI. We were not informed. We also found all 6 weeks had end dates before 5 years and only the membership ended at 5 years, this was not explained at the time of purchase. Also, annual maintenance fees with UV and RCI, which we didn’t sign for.
From the start it was a fraudulent contract. Surprisingly, UV is connected to a renowned hotel chain like Hyatt. I hope this info will help others.
My experience with Unlimited Vacation…
My experience with Unlimited Vacation Club has been extremely disappointing, especially my interaction with Mr.Julian Pat Ricalde.
During my conversation with Julian Pat Ricalde I felt that he was rude, spoke over me, and did not take the time to listen to my concerns. As a customer and an owner of a business myself, I understand that customer service does not mean every customer is always right, but every customer deserves to be heard and treated with respect.
In my own company, I expect my employees to listen to customers, understand their concerns, and bring issues forward so we can learn from them and improve. Even when a customer’s opinion may not be correct, their concerns still deserve attention and a professional response.
That same standard should apply to companies that serve their members and customers. I believe employees who interact directly with customers should be accountable for how they communicate and how they handle concerns.
I also contacted Unlimited Vacation Club and Hyatt and asked that the conversation be reviewed, if a recording was available, so my concerns could be evaluated. Unfortunately, I have not received the response or follow-up I expected.
After the investment I have made as a member, I expected professionalism, respect, and a willingness to listen. I hope this review encourages Unlimited Vacation Club to take member concerns seriously and evaluate how customer interactions are handled.
Sleazy and untrustworthy.
The membership is a typical sleazy hard sell. They will stretch the truth and even lie to get the sale, including misrepresenting the Hyatt relationship. Hyatt should cut all ties with them if they want to preserve their reputation.
absolute trash
absolute trash. would not honor quoted prices. friends who we wanted to travel with were able to get their stay over $1000 less than we were charged. did not honor discussed conditions in the contract. every time i needed to discuss anything i was bounced around multiple times to different departments, then cut off the line or experienced extremely long waits. i am an elite member- noteworthy because we were told we would have personalized experience. this company is absolute trash

We recenSecrets in Cozumel Review - Run Down .. Much Better Choices Everywhere Else in Mexicotly stayed at Secrets Aura…
We recently stayed at Secrets Aura Cozumel and were very disappointed. The resort is run down and in need of major maintenance and renovation. Our original room (#632) overlooked an active construction site, and I paid an additional $1,800 to move to a room that better matched the resort's advertising. The beach was beautiful and the staff were excellent, but the food was average and the property does not justify its premium pricing. We would not return.
AVOID this club!!
AVOID this club!!! You will be fed all kinds of lies to get you to join. The level of lying is truly diabolic! When the lies are repeated to customer service representatives, no concern is shown. Do yourself a favor and avoid this club like the plague!!!
Stay away from this scamming company
Stay away from this scamming company. Went to the DR last year and sat for one of these presentations. Decided not to purchase timeshare because it was more expensive the purchasing a condo. We instead purchased a 4 nights 5 days certificate. We received a receipt for the purchase and that’s it. We were told to call the number to book when ready. Called a few months ago and there is no availability and was told to call back. Nothing about the certificate about to expire or will expire. Call last week and the certificate is expired and nothing they can do. Tried to speak to a supervisor but none available so someone will get back to me. Never got a call. I finally called back and got a supervisor who is explaining the numerous time they called me but they is no record of me calling them. How convenient. There is nothing they can do to reactivate the certificate. How convenient again. Just putting this out there so others can be aware of the nonsense this company is running. If you don’t purchase after the presentation and do decide to purchase a few days please make sure you get the certificate they keep mentioning. None was provided to us. How convenient, she just emailed it to me. So we are out our hard earned money. Be very aware of the deceptions being perpetrated by members of this company. Stay away. And again our situation began from a trip to the Dominican Republic.
My experience with Unlimited Vacation…
My experience with Unlimited Vacation Club has been extremely disappointing. Fear pressure when trying to cancel the plan. I would give 0 for this. BIGGEST SCAM IN THE WORLD. Gave me high pressure to take the plan
When I signed up, I was promised a $1,500 credit if I paid $3,000 upfront. After making the payment, that credit was never provided. I was also clearly told that I could cancel the membership within six months without any additional charges. However, when I recently requested cancellation, I was informed that I must pay 60% of the remaining amount just to cancel the plan.
The information provided by the sales representative during the enrollment process turned out to be completely different from what is being enforced now. I feel that important details were either misrepresented or intentionally withheld.
Customer service has been unhelpful and shows very little concern for resolving customer issues. Every interaction feels focused on collecting money rather than delivering the vacation experience that was promised. The team has refused to honor the commitments that were made when the membership was sold.
Based on my personal experience, I would strongly caution others before signing up with Unlimited Vacation Club. Make sure every promise is documented in writing and read all terms carefully. What was presented to me during the sales process was very different from what I experienced afterward.
I regret purchasing this membership and would not recommend it to others.
We went to Breathless punta cana resort…
We went to Breathless punta cana resort and spa and signed May 6th,2026 Emeral for $22,000CDN. They promised so much, and when I comeback and I tried to book it, everything was lies about the discounts in resorts, hotels and flights. Carlos was manager there and Luis was assistant manager, both are the biggest scammer. I put $9040USD down payments, and the rest after 60 days. On May the 8th i canceled my membership and asked for refund. After 12 days on May tge 20th I received my full refund bcz I canceled within 5days. Breathless punta cana resort and spa shouldn't allowed these scammer in the resort. Be careful, there is nothing truth to their promises. They pure scammers.
