Soy mexicano, me atrajeron a sus platicas diciéndome que si daba 2 horas de mi tiempo, me obsequiaron un certificado de descuento a mitad de precio en cualquiera de sus hoteles, oh sorpresa, nos retuvieron casi 5 horas, su táctica de marketing es super agresiva, nos cambiaron a 5 personas intentando mermar nuestras emociones, al final al darse por vencidos me ofrecieron otro certificado de 3 noches 4 dias con 40% de descuento. Lo tomé... oh sorpresa fue qué los 2 certificados estaban condicionados a una platica de 2 horas cada uno, acabo de tomar una obligatoriamebte e igual me retuvieron 5 horas usando la misma técnica, chica amable, chico amable, chica grosera, chico comprensivo y asi, pero como ya me la sabia... incluso como no quise contratar nada con ellos me dijeron que mi primer certificado que compré me lo cancelarían, un asco, no vayan a sus platicas y evítense ese acoso!

Unlimited Vacation Club is hands down the biggest scam I have ever been involved in. Their affiliates are just as bad...namely Amstar. UVC tried to get me to " Upgrade" my membership...again on my last trip to Ixtapa,Mexico. The initial cost to upgrade from my current level was $39,500 USD! Without any upgrade in services, so when I said no, they start to bully me and then drop the price even when I kept saying NO! By the time they finally gave up trying, the upgrade had dropped to $5500.00 USD!! Seriously?! They just tried to extort $39,500 USD out of me 15 minutes prior! It's all a scam people! Don't buy into the bullshit! I 100% regret buying a membership to this poorly run vacation membership. No accountability, no customer service, POOR communication, throw other divisions of UVC under the bus... You NEVER are connected to the right department for who screwed you over! Last trip I paid Amstar 105.00USD for a shuttle to and from the resort. I had stomach troubles and told the attendees at the front I was quickly running to the washroom before leaving the resort to go to the airport. The shuttle waited 3 MINUTES then left without me and I had to scramble to find a cab and pay $500 pesos for a ride to the airport!! No apologies from the resort, UVC who sold me the shuttle.... and no refund or apology from Amstar!!! NOTHING! Save your money folks and stay away from Unlimited Vacation Club AND it's affiliates who they sell services with! one word, SCAM!!! They haven't earned the one star I was forced to give them!

In September 2023, I took my partner to Secrets Moxché in Playa del Carmen, expecting a luxury experience. Instead, we were immediately pressured into a 30-minute sales pitch in exchange for a “free” massage. The sales rep followed us to breakfast, commandeered our morning, and forced us into a tour of both our hotel and a neighboring property, aggressively pushing the Unlimited Vacation Club. We were overwhelmed with promises of free nights, upgrades, VIP access, and exclusive discounts.

We made the mistake of joining the program. That’s when the real issues started. Billing was aggressive and unrelenting. When I had difficulty with payments due to a cancer diagnosis and treatment, there was absolutely no compassion or flexibility. I paid off my balance, and once I was healthy, attempted to use the benefits we were sold.

That’s when the deception became obvious. The “free” 7-night stay was a classic bait-and-switch—most properties were excluded, and at the location we wanted, the benefit was cut to just 3 nights. When I raised this issue, I was told “that’s just how it is.” No accountability, no solutions.

We booked the 3 nights at our original hotel, paid $100 for a taxi from Cancun, and arrived to find our reservation had been changed—without our consent—to Secrets Mirabal in Cancun. The vacation club’s response? No help, no apology. If we wanted to stay where we originally booked, we were told we’d have to pay full price and lose our “benefit” nights.

To make matters worse, I was denied restroom access at the hotel where I was supposed to be a guest—even though I am a prostate cancer survivor with urgent medical needs. No one cared or offered assistance. When I requested help with the unnecessary cab fare, I was told it was not their problem. The only suggestion was to take another expensive taxi and hope for the best.

At Secrets Mirabal, the so-called “upgrade” was underwhelming. The room was basic, the hotel was under construction, and Unlimited Vacation Club staff continued to harass us with messages and invitations to more presentations, blaming us for their misleading sales tactics. Their idea of compensation? A beach bag with cheap trinkets, and later, a $50 voucher—only if we signed more paperwork.

The hotel itself was far from luxury. Maintenance issues were everywhere: a lamp lying on the restaurant floor, water leaking from the ceiling, and staff who ignored complaints. The alcohol was bottom-shelf, and bartenders refused to make drinks unless continuously tipped. The food was mediocre at best, and staff dismissed any feedback.

This experience was a complete disaster—misleading sales, no accountability, and blatant disregard for guests’ time, money, and health. I strongly urge anyone considering Secrets Moxché or the Unlimited Vacation Club to stay away. This was one of the most disappointing and frustrating travel experiences I have ever had.

They will gladly try to chew up an entire day of your vacation twisting your arm promising the world and giving you a worthless plan. They will throw out and outrageous $ amount and if you are dumb enough to bite, good for them. When you say no, they keep working the number down to a point where it might make sense to you but all the time taking benefits out of the plan but never telling you. They will also offer you a financing plan that sounds very fair. In our case we signed a 30 page financing plan and when the first payment came due, they took the entire amount against our credit card. Our advice, find a really good travel agent and skip all the UVC propaganda and under the table dirty dealings. They are robbing you while smiling and laughing ( at you )

A Vacation disaster!

Dreams Curaçao ranks as one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had. The outdoor buffet is basically a bird feeder—flocks of birds regularly land on the tables, pick at the food, and walk across serving trays while staff look the other way. It’s unsanitary and unacceptable for a resort that claims to be “luxury.”

The room conditions were even worse. Mold spread across the ceiling, the sink was missing its drain, the doors didn’t close properly, and the furniture looked like it had been dragged through a hurricane—chipped, peeling, and neglected. Even the basics weren’t functioning: the water was barely warm, making showers uncomfortable at best.
The positive is the ocean is absolutely beautiful. We asked to be moved and they told us to go to their sister resort Zoetry for more money as if we have spent enough on this dump already!

For a resort tied to Unlimited Vacation Club, this was a complete embarrassment. Save your money and your sanity—i am sure there are far better options on the island.

I got a card for cruises. The July 4 Italy cruise is on a boat princess Magdalena. However that’s a luxury river boat for 50 people. It is not the cruise ship shown and cannot be used on the ocean. I called to explain the problem and ask which princess cruise boat is the cruise on. The woman just kept asking my member info. No concern that info is wrong on site. Its monthly fees even during Covid when no trips allowed. Save your money and just don’t buy into timeshares.

I am sharing my experience with Unlimited Vacation Club so others can make an informed decision.

After signing my membership, I have made consistent payments since day one. During the sales process, certain benefits were presented as available; however, when I later attempted to use them, I was informed that they were not yet accessible or came with additional limitations that were not clearly explained upfront.

It has now been approximately a year, and despite ongoing payments, I have not been able to meaningfully use the membership as expected.

In addition, I have made multiple attempts to contact the appropriate department regarding the cancellation process outlined in my contract. It has been extremely difficult to obtain clear, written guidance. I was redirected multiple times, unable to reach the appropriate representatives, and only received a response after repeatedly following up across multiple email threads.

Even then, the information provided has been limited and conditional, with no clear confirmation of the full cancellation process in advance.

This experience has made it very difficult to plan responsibly and has raised concerns about transparency, communication, and overall customer support.

I strongly encourage anyone considering this membership to fully understand the terms, availability of benefits, and cancellation process before signing, and to ensure all communication is documented in writing.

I hope the company improves its responsiveness and clarity for current and future members.

This Vacation Club is far from a vacation and more of a nightmare. First, they make lots of promises, many are so wonderful, but not usable. So in our case, we show up with our 13 year old duaghter. We listened and sounded like a good deal. One thing they told us was we could take our family. Not true, the whole package is only for two people. Our daughter had to pay like a regular person. The anytime and anyplace they told us about is not true. Trying to book was like a super sale at Walmart for one item. They were always full, and this is what we have for these dates. The options they have left are always sold as the very best and "I can give you a special deal". We were told we could use it right away, and it lasts for a year to make a reservation. Also you can pay for this over time. Things they do not tell you. You cannot use your club membership until you have completely paid for it, and your year to book starts the day you sign the papers. So if you pay for it in 6 months then only have 6 months to use it. We called one day, yes, one day after our year. They told us there was nothing they could do, and we paid for nothing. NOW, after a very terse phone call was was something that could be done; that was if we wanted to pay more money to extend it for another 6 months. Now, don't forget we also still have to pay for our daughter. Remember, a family is two. On anything they offer that is extra or a freebee make sure you see the contract and READ the small print of when you can use it, under what circumstances the offer will work. They will also tell you they are associated with major players in the resort world. I do not know what the relationship is but no one in the real resort world I have spoken with thinks highly of Unlimited Vacation Club. When the ink dries on your paperwork, the sky will become dark, and you will enter unhelpfulness and begin to question, "What have I done?". We have since been members of vacation clubs that are very nice, and we enjoy. Unlimited Vacation Club is the absolute worst and probably why they have terrible ratings. Please tell all your friends as we are helping you.

This a horrible vacation club. They only try to take your money and trick you. Run away if they try to get you to be part of this vacation club.

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. This has been the worst $6,000 I’ve ever spent.

From the beginning, I had concerns that this might not be a good investment—and unfortunately, those concerns turned out to be valid. I moved forward largely due to family pressure, and I regret that decision.

Trying to actually use the membership has been extremely frustrating. The booking process is complicated, customer service is difficult to reach, and the so-called “benefits” are not as advertised.

The “free nights” are very limited, often only available during undesirable times, and rarely at the properties you would actually want. The better resorts require significantly more points, and even then, availability is restricted.

What’s most disappointing is that in many cases, I’ve found better pricing on Booking.com than through this membership—defeating the entire purpose.

Overall, this has been a stressful and disappointing experience. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before committing.

Greed driven organization that will tell you whatever you want to hear with zero intention to follow through. Extremely unorganized and your trip will be littered with sales pitches. Stay away if you really want a relaxing experience.

Worst mistake we EVER made. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing they told us turned out to be true. The legal language in their brochures and contract is FULL of legal loopholes that result in room upgrades AT THEIR DISCRETION and higher costs for vacations than what is commercially available otherwise when airfare is factored in. Plus, they want continual fee payments every year. After the first year of trying but failing to book a trip at our chosen resorts, we gave up. Each resort we chose was denied for one reason or another. When they expected the fee for the 2nd year, we told UVC that we no longer wanted to continue and agreed to eat the costs. It was cheaper to eat it than to keep it. Stay away from Unlimited Vacation Club. It’s a scam to take your money and provide very little, if any, value in return. And…now we won’t go back to Mexico since it’s been known that the resorts in conjunction with the Mexican government will arrest Americans for violations of Mexican contract law. Worst mistake we ever made. Hopefully this review will save someone from making the same mistake.

This is a total scam, they always will ask for more money. None of the benefits they advertise are real, significant hidden fees, and prices that often exceed standard booking sites.
The business office is difficult to deal with, unhelpful, and hard to reach.

Complete scam. Just say NO. They are worse than car salesman. They say no pressure, then harass you when you don't want to commit to only going to their resorts for the rest of your life. Tried to sell us a 40 yr plan and we are in our early 50's. Like we would still be coming at 90? Wtf. They said no obligation and only 90 min talk over lunch. BS. Alex, Alejandro, and Nicholas are crooks. Spread the word. Its the same as old timeshare shit that they try to say it isn't.

If you are sitting in an UVC sales pitch then please get up and leave ! A quick exit is the only way to save $20,000 of your hard earned money. This is a scam, every time you contact these people whether to book or for information....they will ask for more money. None of the benefits they advertise are real. The sales guy will get over your rudeness, he is part of the scam too !

Stay as far away from this as possible. They are snake oil salesmen. They pressure you to talk to them and once you have a problem they say there's nothing you can do. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THEM. Use a travel agent and you will be much happier. They will tell you one thing when you book and when you get to your resort it will be completely different. Then they will say its up to the resort. This is a complete scam. Hyatt is getting rich from false promises.

We booked a Spring Break trip to Mexico through Unlimited Vacation and recently reached out to request a change of destination due to safety concerns. We were not trying to cancel our vacation altogether , only to adjust our plans in order to feel secure traveling with our family.

We were informed that if we cancel, cancellation penalties will apply, and no flexibility or alternatives could be offered. We escalated the issue to a supervisor, but the response remained the same: it is company policy.

While we understand that policies are in place, we were disappointed by the lack of consideration given the circumstances. As higher-level members, we expected a more customer-focused and solution-oriented approach, particularly when safety is involved.

We hope the company reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future.
