Offered (4) zip line tickets and (2) side-by-side ATVs for $100 USD if we would agree to a 90-minute presentation at Dreams Cabo San Lucas. They claimed it was not a timeshare and owned by Hyatt Hotels. Since I know how much things were going to cost if we paid on our own, me and my family decided why not. Below are the pros and cons.

Pros - they paid for the taxi ride to and from our hotel as promised. They offered a full breakfast which was very good. They provided the vouchers for the zip lines as promised and even made the reservation. They were very friendly for the most part, especially Julia and Oscar. I’ll explain in the cons why I say for the most part. Gave us our $100 back. Also explained below.

Cons: too many employees involved. Three different employees in the first 5 minutes before getting teamed up with Julia. Immediately changed the special offer for attending the presentation. They said I could still do the ATVs, in additional to the zip lines, but I would need to book it through the original guy (Josue) who made the initial offer. Supposedly Josue works for them at the airport. They would give us our $100 back, plus an additional $60 and he would take care of the reservation. Presentation took longer than 90 minutes by no fault of our own. Once we got to the important stuff, “the terms,” things went south.

Similar to a timeshare, only difference is you are paying to get discounts at various hotels they own. Always at least 25% off the published rates but could be as much as 50% to 70% off when they run specials.

The smallest package was a 15 year deal. The package they thought would be best for my family was the silver package which was a 30 year deal. The price tag at their discounted, “today only rate?” Just shy of $30,000 with over $7,000 being due today and the balance to be paid over 4 years at a 9% interest rate. For a discount program? No thank you!

When I said no, they kept pushing and changing the “today only special.” Pretty typical. Finally, when they understood we were not going to sign up, then it took FOREVER to get the promised items and to leave.

As an attorney, the biggest red flag was that I asked to see the real contract but they would not provide it. They wanted me to sign the offer before discussing the contract terms. I’m sorry, but I’m U.S. contract laws, once I sign the first paper, that is known as offer and acceptance. When they refuse to show you the real terms, the contract, that’s when you know they are being shady. They verbally claimed you can cancel anytime without any penalties but I know better and other reviews on here have confirmed this. If it’s too good to be true, then you need to run.

So, take advantage of the “free” stuff they give you, but know you will have a hard time leaving because they will stop caring about you once you say no.

It is owned by Hyatt, which apparently owns lots of things, like Southwest Vacations, but is no different than any other high pressure sales company. What I find funny is that on my Southwest Vacations itinerary, it has language that says avoid companies like this, yet both Southwest Vacations and Unlimited Vacations Club, are both owned by the same company.

Attend a presentation at your own risk.

We were accosted at the airport with promises of discounts on excursions and assurances that “this is not a time share” in exchange for a 90 minute presentation. It turned into a half day of our vacation and WAS in fact a time share. Once we said we weren’t interested, the impeccable customer service came to an end and we waited another hour to get only a small portion of what was promised to us. Don’t fall for it!!

I'm mexican. I bought a pearl membership 7 years ago with financing in dollars. ($7,500 USD). Given the threat of devaluation, I paid the entire membership a year later.

After a few months I tried to cancel but I had to pay a very high penalty which is stipulated in the contract. My lawyer advised me not to fight and use the membership.

The 25% discount on the rate compared to what is published by agencies such as Hotels.com or Best Day and others has always been granted.

The only but that I put to UVC is that they are building new hotels with very high rates and they are ceasing to maintain the hotels with a more affordable price, which lowers the quality in those hotels.

Every time I have stayed, they insist to increase the level of my membership, which I no longer accept, since that at the end of the 10 years of membership, using it 7 days per year, I paid in advance the discount that they give me and at I end up tied with them.

On May 31st my husband and I arrived at the Punta Cana International Airport and were approached by a female who proceeded to take us to a counter. We were unfamiliar with the procedures for leaving the airport to proceed to the resort. The gentleman Walter Daniel Perez seemed legit and honest. He explained to us how others will scam you but he was there to provide the truth to Americans and give pointers on what to do and not to do during our stay. We explained to him that we were interested in excursions, and he proceeded to give recommendations. He explained to us that the resort we were staying at and Secrets were acquainted and all we need to do is come for breakfast the next morning. We paid him $100.00 cash for an excursion that we never received. After leaving the airport and doing research, we discovered that we were scammed. We reached out to him (the telephone number was provided by him), and he quickly went from nice to angry when he discovered we were not coming for a presentation and was not interested in a timeshare or presentation as we explained to him in the beginning. We simply wanted to enjoy our anniversary vacation without being scammed. Now we will like a full refund for services not explained or received.

this people do not care about us club members, they will only try to keep selling things as opposed to help take advantage of the membership. If you're thinking about buying ... STOP !

I was told that I was buying a Hyatt Membership, the name Unlimited Vacation Club was never mentioned during the presentation. Once I got back to the hotel and I got some time to review in details; I found out this was a timeshare, and none of the available vacation dates offered worked for me or my family. I read the whole contract and I was not very happy with the terms; but I also read you have 5 business days from the date you signed the contract to cancel and get a full refund. I sent an email right away to UVC and started the cancellation process. I took me some time since I was overseas but I didn't care, I just wanted to get out asap. I was able to cancel this contract, they had a very prompt response, I also called my credit card and faxed over all the communication with UVC and this was successfully cancelled 5 days later.

This company is a scam. Everything they tell you is a lie- save your money. It’s no where near worth your time or money.

Pleases, don't get this membership. They promise a lot of things that they don't do. To cancel the membership< I have to pay $5,000. The contract I signed is a trap. They said that I would have $1,000 credit for cruise, but they didn't mentioned that in order to have it, I had to buy a ticket that cost me more than $3,000. They justify it, saying that they can give as discount only the commission they receive when they sell the ticket.
I tried to get a ticket to fly from Miami to Canada. They told me that I can not get discount flying from Miami because their discount is only for "some" airport in USA, Miami is not one of then. I live in Miame area.
The only thing I am able to do on their website is the payment.

I thought it was illegal to have someone under the influence of alcohol sign a contract or provide alcohol to them during a contract signing???!! do not purchase this membership. they over charged me twice $1500-2000. gave me some story of that's what they were quoted. so I had to cancel, wait for my money, then book direct through the rental, airline, etc.. they will not refund your money after 7 days FYI !!! I was on my honeymoon, drunk, and didn't realize what they scammed me into until we returned home a week later. beware!!!!

I am seriously thinking about filing a lawsuit against them. When we were getting being pitched, they told us they would price match "any cheaper price'....THATS A LIE. They literally work with about 15 established websites (priceline, bookit, Airline Vacation sites, etc.), to ensure the rates are not beaten BY THOSE FEW COMPANIES...you can always find someone else to beat their deal. WISH I had known then, what I know now.

Disgraceful organization. You have 5 business days to exit your contract, so hopefully you'll see this review within that period.
After sitting through their (allegedly 120 minute, but actually 5 hour) pitch, and after they lured in the missus with promises of free yacht trips and upgrades, we stupidly surrendered and bought their snake oil. A few days later I sent them written notice of choosing to exit their contract, and a week later they refunded SOME of what we'd paid upfront. They took out a few thousand dollars to cover what they had told us was free but, when questioned, produced some page of a contract that we had not been shown, but which they had used DocuSign to add my signature to.
I'm currently disputing through American Express on the basis of undue influence, and withholding or misrepresenting information.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS VACATION PACKAGE. YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT THEY SAID YOU WILL RECEIVE LIES LIES AND MORE LIES OVER 4000 DOLLARS STOLEN FROM ME.

I would also warn people to stay away. Now that I have given them the money and start trying to use the membership, I find they are worthless.

I was promised 1000.00 towards a cruise. Not even close. Got better pricing from my regular travel agent. They would match the price BUT, this was with my supposed part of my 1000.00 of my membership. Once they have your money, is there a way to get it back and get out of this? Bond two two zero one at me dot com!

Worst business in the world. I hope they get closed down.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! If that message is not clear, let me repeat that Unlimited Vacation Club is a completely worthless SCAM to steal your money and provide nothing. Do not believe their lies which are presented in a "90 minute visit" which turns into close to 6 hours of high pressure sales and misleading information. They present themselves as part of the "World of Hyatt", which we trusted as we know and trust Hyatt. They lied to us, we cancelled at 8:30 the next morning (within the first 18 hours). By Mexican law they must return all money. They did not, keeping $2,000 for "services used" which was a "move in" and "upgrade" which were of course never used! There was no move in. There was no upgrade.
Perhaps 20 hours have been spent on the phone so far, in a continuous "you have to call another number" scam. Save yourself, run far away from Unlimited Vacation Club.
