Do not hire- Unprofessional and over priced


Technician Anvar Hamidov was very unprofessional and very over priced. 1st they quoted me 110 for diagnosis and then when he came to the apartment he fixed a small part and over charged. He refused to give a break down of the labor cost or the part. He refused to leave the property until he got paid and as he waited as I attempted to pay him via Zelle, he took out the new part after he installed. Extremely unprofessional and over priced, and disrespectful. I do not recommend this business.

Stay clear of this company

Stay clear of this company. Repairman barely spoke english so there was a language barrer. He was to repair a Whirlpool washer. After 10 minutes of diagnosing it, the cost exceeded a new replacement. He tried to justify that a new washer would be much more than that.
I paid the service fee and sent him packing.

Called for ice maker repair

Called for ice maker repair. Major language barrier. He told me the ice maker and ice catcher should both be replaced at $300 each. I looked on Amazon and told him I could buy the part for $80, then he said the ice maker worked and not to replace the catcher because the icemaker would break it again. Nothing he said made sense. Terrible experience.

Terrible experience, beware

A technician was supposed to arrive between 11am-2pm to service our dryer. We received a call around 12:40, the tech would arrive in approx 40 minutes. He's at the door after 2pm, and when I tell him he's late, he said the company should've told us about some issue with his car. He diagnoses the dryer as a thermostat and sensor issue, but then pulls the dryer forward too far, which apparently disconnects the vent hose, and then turns on the dryer to "test" for a clogged vent. This ends up sending the clogged lint flying everywhere in the room and he proceeds to stop the dryer to open the window because he clearly didn't do a visual check for a clog in the first place. He quotes me the replacement for thermostat, sensor, and "cleaning" fee for over $400, which I proceed to tell him, no I will not proceed. When I confront him about why he just yanked the dryer forward, and didn't just check the vent without turning on the dryer and sending the lint everywhere, he conveniently doesn't understand me and pulls out his phone for translation. In the first place, his English wasn't very good and understanding him was difficult. At this point, I'm just livid cuz there's lint everywhere and I just want him out asap, so I told him to get out of my house and that I would pay for the service fee of like around $90. When we called to complain, I get a call back from I guess a manager from the parent company, who proceeds to "listen" to my story but basically doesn't and tells me the technician was just doing his job and telling me the cost of the thermostat, sensor, and cleaning fee, which I clearly didn't agree to. When I told him it didn't make sense to test a clogged vent by turning on the dryer when the hose is disconnected, he proceeded to tell me that that's how you're supposed to do it if you're a tech. He asked me "are you a tech?" and that his was wearing a camera so they have video evidence of me being rude, which is great because I also took photos and videos of their incompetence. When I told him that he conveniently didn't understand me, the guy on phone said I should've called the company as if it were my responsibility to send someone who can understand and communicate properly. He also feigned ignorance and asked me why the tech had to open the window, knowing that his tech sent lint flying everywhere with the hose disconnected and that it was unprofessional service. I told him that it doesn't take a tech to do a visual check for clogs, instead of yanking out the dryer too far forward and then mistakenly turning it on without the hose. The person on the phone wouldn't listen either way, so I told him that they're scammers and I don't want them to come back and finish the job, end of conversation. I don't even care for a refund because that's not the point. There was no apology, no intention to listen to the customer, and no professionalism in person or on the phone. This was a horrible experience and I would definitely recommend others to stay clear of this company.

I live in raritan new Jersey I had your company come out last December to fix my gas dryer. The repairman stated that the roller was bad. He replaced it within a week after that. I know if the dryer was sticking. I'm about a month ago. My driver was making a clunking sound. I call another repair service to come out there and repair my dryer today. The repairman stated that the roller was never replaced by your company. So your company did not replace the roller.And charged me over $300. And then I replaced the part. I would like to know what your company is going to do about this. When restitution for the charge that wasn't taken care of

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! I found this company on the web. They were the only people that made house calls and the service charge would go towards the service. My heating element went out in my dryer. I made a appointment with this company. We set up a date and time which was March 11th @ 6:00 pm giving me time to get off work. OF course no one showed up that day then i get a call at 7:30 that same evening saying the tech couldn't make it and could we reschedule for the next morning which was Thursday march 12th. That was my first sign of danger but i ignored it. The tech came out and let me know that it was my heating element and it was gonna cost me 300 to repair it. Well i declined the repair so that i may find something cheaper(which i did) but anyway i agreed to pay the service charge which I was told to be 79.00 and that is what i paid. moving forward to this past saturday the 28th of march. I decided to check the dryer just for the hell of it and its making a really loud sound that i have never heard before. I couldn't find their number so i went to my credit card statement and called the number. After exchanging text messages someone name Liam called me. I told him what my issue was and all i wanted him to do was send the tech back out to fix my dryer back the way he found it. These people claim to never have been to my house even after providing a picture of the tech who came to my home and i also had video footage of him at my door. they claim i never made an appointment with them even when my cc statement states i clearly paid them. I've reach out to my cc provider and have disputed the charge. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECCOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL OR TRUSTWORTHY.

⭐️ 1 STAR – DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I am extremely disappointed with this service. My refrigerator is still NOT working after they charged me $528.

The main issue was never fixed — the fan motor is still not running, and nothing has improved. I was told to wait 24–48 hours, and it has now been that long with zero change.

On top of that, communication was very difficult. The technician did not speak English and had to use his iPhone to translate everything, which made it hard to clearly understand what was being done or explained.

This experience has been frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of money.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I feel like I was misled and overcharged for a repair that was never completed.

I would strongly advise against using…

I would strongly advise against using this handyman. He came to fix my stove and claimed he knew what he was doing, but it quickly became clear that he did not have the skills to handle the job. Not only did he fail to fix the stove, but he actually made the problem worse. He charged me $200 and promised to return with the proper stove parts to finish the job, but he never showed up for the follow-up appointment and stopped responding.
Based on my experience, I found him to be unprofessional, unreliable, and dishonest. I would not recommend his services to anyone looking for honest or competent repair work.

It cost $89 to speak to a repair person who was about 1 hr late, couldn’t speak English, didn’t understand my question, had little or no knowledge of Maytag washer, and pretty much took 15 minutes to do absolutely nothing

They misdiagnosed the issue with my dishwasher. i payed for the new part & labor they recommended, only for my dishwasher to still not work properly. They didn't even correctly install it back under my counter. They also didn't clean up the debris/dust left behind after repair work. The technicians were kind, but didn't take the time to fully go through steps to properly diagnose. I would not recommend.

Bismal Customer Service

One of their repair techs came out less to two months ago to replace my water pump in my front load washer. The repair went as planned but the tech unknowingly didn't put all the parts and pieces back properly. After a few wash cycles the machine started leaking which progressively got worse. I could see that the metal ring that holds the front rubber gasket on wasn't seated properly and had started coming off (through the drum vibrations). It takes a special tool to pinch the ring together and push it back into place. A two second fix if you have the right tool. The customer service rep said my technician didn't take off the metal ring. I told him I was standing right next to him when he took it off. They wanted to charge me for a full trip charge on something they did incorrectly the first time plus try to sell me a new rubber door gasket. Very disappointing and quite surprised they responded this way!! I definitely won't be calling them back for any other appliance repairs in the future.

Dishonest, Unethical & Manipulative

Complete failure to resolve our appliance issue. Complete lack of confidence in company to honestly communicate and follow through. Dishonest and unethical business practices.
First issue was Technician did not speak English, nor have another means of communicating.
At time of house call on 19/17/25 we conveyed issues with refrigerator needing repair but technician did not seem to understand, it was unclear.
Technician took a $200 deposit to repair refrigerator.

We did not receive any communications from company for more than a week. I called company and asked for an itemized estimate for refrigerator repair. On 10/31/25 we finally received an estimate, with no details and no itemization.

It became apparent from estimate our two repair requests were not addressed and the cost was projected to be $500.

This was a red flag something was not right.
They appeared to be charging us for work not needed and failing to fix our two concerns. On 10/31-2025 I called and sent an email that we were canceling refrigerator repair and required our $200 deposit refunded.

In summary we lost confidence in company to do repairs needed at a fair price. Their inability to diagnose problems and communicate. We filed a BBB complaint, company lied and refused to issue refund of deposit. No resolution has been reached, no refunding of our deposit, less service call fee.

Problem Solved...Money Saved!

The Upper Appliance Repair technician was thorough assessing the refrigerator/freezer problem. His first recommendation was to replace the condenser. Upon consultation with his manager there were additional recommendations to rectify the problem. The technician was directed to examine it further and determined with some minor replacements would probably work. End result: the refrigerator is running like new without replacing the condenser. Overall problem solved and repaired. The savings for us was about $800 without replacing the condensor.

bad experience

I used these guys in NJ to diagnose an ice maker issue. The misdiagmosed the issue....saying I needed a brand new ice maker, for $550 and then after they left and took my deposit, the ice maker began working. The did not refund the full deposit claiming shiipping fees and some other nonsense for the parts they said we needed.....when we didnt. Go elsehwere.

The worst company that i have ever used personally and dispatcher very rude and irresponsible, i wanted to mark the director of this company Nadir, he implied the most uneducated people to the phone calls. They do not even know how to speak with people properly. Hate from Houston!

The Technician

The technician, Sammy, gave me a new hope that there is knowledge, honesty, and integrity in an service area where many times this is not the case. Sammy was professional, listened to my concerns, and solved my problems. I have already made family and friends aware of how pleased and impressed I was, and I will definitely be using Upper Appliance (and Sammy specifically) for any future needs I might have!!!

Rip off

They're overpriced and lied about military discount. When i made the appointment i already told them what the problem was. They wanted to charge $385 to replace $35 suspensions on my washer. Ordered parts on Amazon installing it myself and saving myself a whooping $350.
