VIRTUAL SHIELD IS NOT WHAT THEY CLAIM
I found Virtual Shield on The x22 Report. They claim to have great service. They claim to work with Windows 7 users. They claim to have several W7 customers using Virtual Shield.
Their chat is circular, and they do not really know how to help unless everything is going smoothly. They do not answer questions asked. They do not deliver service. Their chats are shallow and there is poor follow-through.
They will not let me talk to a supervisor, and they apparently have only ONE technician who continued to talk about how Virtual Shield is going to drop Windows 7. So why tell me VS works with Windows 7?
He started talking about Windows 7 like it is some kind of old rag. He started talking about the market share of VS. I had only 30 minutes. I am a technician and do not believe he can help me with windows 7. Why do they continue to lead me on?
I am very disappointed. It's been a 2-week waste of time. I need to go find a VPN.

I cancelled my auto-renew on 3/15/2022 a year prior to renewal
I cancelled my auto-renew on 3/15/2022. I emailed them and have the record of my request. On 2/9/2023 they charged me again. When I contacted them regarding the error, they wouldn't cancel my service. They continued to tell me I needed to try this or that to fix the service. They have no phone number to call. No way to cancel auto-renew in your account. I finally had to dispute the charge through my credit card company. I also filed a complaint with the State of CA. They have numerous complaints on the Better Business Bureau site, for the same behavior.

I have just been hit with an unannounced renewal charge of $300! This is supposedly a renewal charge that occurs every 2 years. It is completely unacceptable not to let an old inactive customer know that you are about to charge them $300 after years of inactivity. VirtualShield are pirates. There are better, much cheaper VPNs out there. Steer clear of these charlatans.

Bad service, bad tech support and bad customer service
I had a 2-year subscription that ended without any advance warning of my card being charged to renew. This VPN interfered with many of my apps, and also my emails. When I got the email receipt for my card being charged, I sent an immediate email to have the service CANCELED and money REFUNDED. Instead, they sent an email offering a 50% discount. What don't you understand about CANCEL AND REFUND? It took another 10 MONTHS to get them to refund my money and cancel the service! Their VPN interfered with my email downloads. I went back and forth with Apple and Comcast for months, thinking I had an email problem and was contemplating buying a new phone as I thought my phone was the issue. I eventually realized the problem was due to VirtualShield, and I had to turn off the VPN to have emails download. You can't find a phone number to call them, Tech Support is slow to answer and time-consuming to go back and forth by email. Don't waste your time or money. Opt for another service.

X22 Trial went great, but down hill soon after i paid my subscription.
Within 3 months the firestick app failed....that was a full 1 year ago. They told me it would be fixed in 3 months but it wasnt so they gave me another 3 months subscription. Then it was meant to be available in august, which came and gone so they said december blah blah blah, have another 3 months subscription for a service that doesnt work. Its now january. App unavailble for firestick for a full 12 months out of a 24 month subscription.
Left with no other alternative but to find a new vpn service and make sure this one doesnt renew.

NEVER GET THIS USELESS VPN
This VPN always dropped my coverage and it did it 4 times in 30 minutes!! I thought I was taking advantage of a "discount" subscription. I was paid up to 2026 and these THIEVES said they credited my account for a $71rebate BUT THEY NEVER DID!! IF I COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY A ZERO STAR REVIEW WOULD!!! LIVE AND LEARN.....DON'T PREPAY ANYTHING.....EVER!!!

Leave out offensive words? ROFLMAO!!! I'm speechless. I couldn't get VS to connect. Tried everything I could think of. Had a chat with Duane who was very patient with me. I learned something "new" today. Great service from Duane and well satisfied with VS.

Poorly design apps, bad customer service
I have been using them since the old version. And their problem was never fixed. While other services have only one category of payment, virtual shield has multiple add-ons which you don't know whether it working or not. You have to pay to use unrestricted streaming, but this add-on constantly bugs out resulting in you can't not connecting to it. Then their new version is often disconnected from their server leading to your device can't access to the internet until you uninstall virtual shield. And they have poor customer service. Any tickets that was posted, took them a half month to contact me. It is better to use other VPN service than virtual shield

Stay well away from this company , they are conmen who take your money for a broken service they have no intentions of fixing , they also will avoid a refund , I paid for 2years upfront , not even got a year without it failing, locking out all internet traffic and is totally unusable, you will be cancel cultured when you complain or try to get a refund ....nothing but CRIMINALS

Disappointing. 3 months in and it only works on my phone and for my laptop I need to use a free vpn from another company. The support is boiler plate and hasn't helped. Put in many hours with tech support and it hasn't helped.

I purchased this and wanted to have it for both Edge and Firefox. I downloaded the app and the software versions and it did not work at all on Edge and when I had it up on Firefox, it worked on regular websites but I could not go to my corporate websites, email or CRM with it on. I do not recommend this at all! I have had the hardest time getting a refund and they say they cannot give refunds with a technical issue. I have worked with this for 2 hours now and I do not have the time to spend on something that will not allow me to do my work on my corporate website. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME FOR THIS IF YOU ARE NEEDING TO ACCESS CORPORATE OUTLOOK, CRMs or ANY REPORTING WEBSITES!

Unstable VPN, nickel-and-dimed for features
The VPN is very unstable. You can count on it failing every 20-30 minutes. They have an "internet kill switch" option that shuts off your internet when this happens, which means you won't be browsing without a VPN without knowing it if you turn that on, but it also means you can't do anything that requires a stable connection.
When the VPN fails it will say "connected" but the UI will appear as if it's disconnected, if you "disconnect" in this state, it will reconnect (and tell you that it's disconnected) or it will simply never reconnect and you'll have to kill the program. If you have to kill the program, it often messes with your internet settings, and you'll have to go though troubleshooting steps to fix it.
Many (MANY) features that are free with other VPNs are paid add-ons for Virtual Shield. Want to see American Netflix? Sorry, that's an add-on. Want customer support? Sorry, that's an add-on.
There are several options when it comes to buying a VPN. Virtual shield is a fine while it works, and it often doesn't. It isn't cheap enough to justify its terrible stability and lack of features.
