Wetherspoons the last post Southend. Where do you start moved down here back in April a fair sized pub with two bars. Where the smaller bar never seems to be open for some reason. The staff seem nice but seems to run around like headless chickens on the weekend it's impossible to try and get a drink for amount of people. Don't even bother trying to order food then last time took over half an hour to be served. I wouldnt mind but the staff should inform you before you order and the food was lukeworm

Wetherspoons app not working stopped getting notifications about a week ago.
I was in Kilmarnock this morning and the App worked in the pub.
I've tried to delete and download again but still doesn't work in the house also decided to download on my wife's phone to see if I could narrow it down but still the same problem. ward to getting notifications of the real ale so I could plan when I would go in for a few beers but can't do that now so can one of the IT specialist at spoons look into this as it probably an easy fix for them.
The Moon & Stars Romford - dishwater ale
I visited The Moon & Stars Romford Sunday evening around 10:45pm. Had a pint of Wainwright and an ale called Brains?........at 60 years old I've enjoyed many pints in whetherspoons....... unfortunately the two pints I had whilst making a passing visit where the poorest pints I have ever had in any pub.....I really should have complained about the first but was tired and didn't need any hassle
The lady who served me disappeared into what looked like the kitchen service area and returned with my pints . They both looked and tasted like flat lifeless waste beer....i chose an alternative beer to the Wainwright for my second pint in the hope the beer would be better but it also was poor and was delivered flat from the kitchen area . Half way through the second pint I just left it and the pub, ordinarily I would have complained but as I was on a flying visit to Romford I simply left town.......That certainly wasn't hand pulled ale and was far short of the usual whetherspoons standard.....someone needs to find out what these staff were up to as what they were doing was very poor practice
On Tuesday 15/9 I was back near home and visited The Commercial in Accrington Lancashire and enjoyed 2 of the nicest pints of hand pulled Porter I've ever had at a Whethersoons so not all bad
Please give the staff at The Moon & Stars Romford a talking to as they'll be upsetting customers serving the kind of dishwater I received

Went to Biggleswade the crown .The curry I got was absolutely disgusting. The and food level has been dropped so far it is ridiculous. The rice like water, the staff didn't seem to bother. If you are after something simple ,you may as well eat grass and drink water.
Poor customer services
⭐ Extremely disappointing – Wetherspoons have lost my custom
I visited Wetherspoons in Exmouth intending to have lunch and sat in the outside garden area at the front of the premises with my small, well-behaved dog.
Unfortunately, we were then told that dogs are not permitted.
I was genuinely taken aback. This wasn’t an indoor dining area — it was an open-air garden, and my small dog was sitting quietly underneath our chair, causing absolutely no disturbance or inconvenience to anyone.
I appreciate that Wetherspoons can have its own policies, but surely common sense should also play a part. Refusing paying customers simply because they have a small, well-behaved dog in an outdoor garden area seems completely disproportionate.
What’s particularly frustrating is that the no-dog signage is at the entrance and is not particularly prominent or easy to see. If this restriction is so important, surely customers should be able to see it clearly before entering or taking a seat.
The result? Wetherspoons lost our business that day — and potentially our future business too.
I have to question the commercial sense behind a policy like this. How many other customers with dogs simply walk away and spend their money somewhere else? In today’s competitive hospitality market, deliberately turning away paying customers seems an extraordinary business decision.
I’m not suggesting that every establishment must allow dogs indoors. That’s a different matter entirely. But refusing a customer from an outside garden area because a small dog is quietly sitting underneath their chair is, in my opinion, unnecessarily rigid.
Wetherspoons may consider this simply enforcing company policy. From a customer’s perspective, however, it felt like being turned away when we were perfectly prepared to spend money with the business.
There are plenty of pubs, cafés and restaurants that understand responsible dog owners and welcome well-behaved dogs in outdoor areas.
So unfortunately, Wetherspoons Exmouth has lost my custom.
Perhaps management should ask themselves a simple question:
Is this policy actually bringing the business more customers than it is turning away?
⭐2/5
Very disappointing customer service and a policy that, in my opinion, desperately needs some common sense.

No Tea?!
Only coffee machine working Urm 🤔 not at all well. Very weak black coffee. Another is just pushing out weak black coffee.
2 others have completely died!!
Was going to stop for food as normally it's very good here.
But if the bar staff who are not busy earnt bothered about the hot drinks machines. We won't bother & go elsewhere.....
So not what I expected from here.
Tasty food at a reasonable price.
My mother and her 3 sisters have been going to Weatherspoons, once a month for several years and reported no issues. They say, the food is simple but tasty, at a reasonable price.
Malicious Falsehood
Narrows Abingdon
My experience with this venue was disappointing. In October 2025, staff removed my drink while I was briefly asleep at a table. When I queried this, I was subsequently told that an incident report described me as verbally aggressive.
I obtained CCTV footage through a Subject Access Request. In my view, the footage shows me remaining seated and appearing calm before leaving without any obvious confrontation. I provided the footage during the company’s complaints process, but I remain dissatisfied with how my complaint and the resulting ban were handled, particularly because I do not believe the footage was properly considered.
As a precaution, I provided the incident and offered to provide the CCTV footage to Thames Valley Police under reference BCA-63082-26-4343-IR, in case the incident was later reported differently. I am not suggesting that the police have made any finding about the matter.
I was also the only visibly non-white customer present at the time. I cannot say whether this affected how I was treated, but it was part of my experience.
On that basis, I would not recommend this venue to anyone seeking a transparent complaints process.
TERRIBLE
Went to new crewe weatherspoons, rubbish. Inside was full, tables right near ladies bathroom, I feel bad, we went in for an evening meal, came out saying ‘never going back’ bring back beefeater next to premier inn rather than this unpleasant place.
Wetherspoons
I have frequented many Wetherspoons establishments over the years in different areas of England and only found complaint about one and that was in Southport. ( it may have been a busy day as 3 drink machines were out of order and they had run out of some products ) I recently visited Chester with my son for a 2 day break and chose to stay in the Wetherspoons hotel, the Bull and Stirrup. The staff were great. The room was equal to my Travel Lodge/ Premier Inn stays over the years. The room was spotless with coffee/tea making facilities. In addition bottled water was provided and replenished. We were allowed to use the hot drinks machine for free throughout our stay. A bonus was the breakfast at a very reasonable price ( as most meals are). There was a lovely outdoor space where we could relax with a last drink of the day. At 10pm we were asked to retire to the inside which I guess was to lessen the noise for the benefit of people living nearby. The price of the room over 2 nights was very reasonable. I received e mails with information about parking etc. All in all a lovely stay at this hotel. I would highly recommend The Bull and Stirrup and if I visit Chester again (great place for a visit with lots to see and enjoy) I will be booking again.
Weatherspoons Abergavenny
Premises were clean and fairly welcoming. Food was quick and good value. a small slip-up in ordering quickly corrected. Staff came out (I was sitting outside) to find me and advised a refund was due.
Will use again.
EMERSONS GREEN PUB IS AWFUL...
EMERSONS GREEN PUB IS AWFUL...
I really like 'Spoons pubs in general. At Emersons Green Bristol yesterday teatime I waited at the bar while a young bloke behind the bar chatted to his mates at length, after pulling their pints. Had I been in charge I would have sacked him on the spot.
Anyway I left and went to Spoons in Staple Hill a mile away where there is always efficient and timely service. Fishponds Spoons is good too. I will not go to Emersons Green again

Hessle Wetherspoons Home Farm is still in a chaotic muddle. Waiting more than a hour for basic food. Hungry unhappy kids. Plenty of waiting staff but the kitchen just isn’t performing. Time to get a competent manager.

Went here today and had to walk out. The amount of screaming children's jumping all over the seats. Noise unbearable
No parents correcting them. Disgraceful
Ordered pizzas, big mistake.
Ordered pizzas. They took forever, and when they came it was like someone had put them in a microwave to warm them up. They were limp and doughy, not crispy as they should be if they were cooked in a pizza oven. I also asked for extra sauce on one and it came up with hardly any sauce at all.
This was at the Romford branch The Moon and Stars.
I usually like Weatherspoons, my local is the New Fairlop Oak. But this was really awful. I would have sent them back, but we waited so long and we were hungry. It wasn't cheap either.
The Dairyman Brentwood obnoxious manager
We went to The Dairyman Brentwood a few weeks ago. Ordered steak pie from the menu on the middle day saver. When I came to pay the bar tender charged me more than the set price. I queried this showing him the price shown. He called a manager who tried but couldn't make the the same price. He then called the restaurant manager who again tried. When he was unable He suggest I order fish and chips or something else. I informed him that I wanted steak pie and he should offer it at the price advertised on the menu. His attitude was very poor to say the least. I pointed out the trade description act ant that I would be complaining to head office. He said as he walked away"Yeah right good luck with that. Go for it" I said to the other manager "Can't you offer me a soft drink as a offer of good will" He said no. It was now more about how I had been treated then the money. I ordered my meal paying the full price keeping my receipts. This spoilt my afternoon resulting from the managers attitude. I complained to head office who referred me back to the Dairyman. They eventually offer me the difference but I refused and have decided to let others know about my experience
Wetherspoons Uttoxeter …
Another almost cold breakfast at Uttoxeter Wetherspoons, don't know why we go, probably time we stopped
Went to Wetherspoons “ Station “ pub in…
Went to Wetherspoons “ Station “ pub in Lytham St Anne’s about 3.30 pm on a Sunday. Great sitting outside with the sun shinning however as regards one lazy uninterested member of staff bring our 2 x drinks to the table ( 117 ) he sat the drinks down and didn’t have the courtesy or hospitality to lift any of the 11 x combined mixtures of used glasses sitting in the table. I’ve an arm Injury and politely went to the bar and asked him to kindly lift the glasses. Said he would do it in time - waited another 10 mins and had to speak to a lady who said they were short on floor staff, ok I get it but look it’s out of order having to sit outside and seeing greasy used glasses and Bottles at your table. I get it cheap drinks shouldn’t mean dreadful service and disrespect. Very Disapponted - Wetherspoons Lytham retrain your staff and managment.
Weathersppons- Scarborough
Weathersppons- Scarborough
We visisted on the afternoon and bought lots of drinks and meals for four professional people in their sixties. The food was okay and the drinks were cheap and cheerful like most Weatherspoons. The staff were friendly and approachable. After returning on the evening for one drink before going to an open air event, my husband went to place our drinks order again. Sadly, there was a miscommunication over my order of a vodka and diet coke as it arrived without any alcohol. My husband and his friend discussed this with the barman. He was abrupt and insisted that he'd been asked for a diet Pepsi only. We never ask for branded drinks and they argued our point and offered to pay for the missing vodka. The barman then proudly announced he was the manager. He said the bar had a zero tolerance for rudeness . He refused payment for the missing alcohol and demanded we leave the venue once the drinks were finished. He refused to provide his name but he had a beard and looked very young indeed. I myself tried to appeal to his better nature but he was hostile towards me and was resolute in his decision so we finished our drinks as instructed and left. I understand and appreciate that we live in a world where hospitality staff can be treated appallingly by being sworn at and threatened physically and I really feel for them. But this was a total over reaction and this situation could have been handled very differently with a little bit of diplomacy and humility. I think this particular manager has much to learn with some additional training. It was simply a misunderstanding. He had the power and was very heavy handed in his approach, clearly not ready for that level of responsibility. Thankfully most of our experiences with Wetherspoons as a whole has been largely favourable up and down the country so this negative experience won't deter us from returning once again. Thank you, Lesley Carr 😊
