My experience with When Push comes to Shove was second to none. A beautifully set out 4 day course, easy to follow and kept a good pace. All are classes recorded if you can't make a live. Nickita and Angela have a wealth of knowledge between them, this is the perfect introduction Doula/Birth Keeper course. They take you through all you need to know about the Birth physiology, Nutrition, how to support Women in Labour, navigating the system and so much more.
A wonderful course packed full of information on actually on what a Doula's role is and isn't.
Loved the spiritual side of this course, covering personal development your belief system, past trauma and they guide you through the emotion and passion that we are constantly going through.

Well. This course.

I took an interest in natural childbirth after becoming pregnant for the 3rd time recently. Turns out it was nowhere near that, but doing my research made me realise how much women can be let down by the system and I wanted to be part of a change.

After already speaking with Nickita a few times for reassurance during my own pregnancy, I knew it was her course that was the right fit for me as I love the way she is patient, welcoming, knowledgeable, earthy, accepting, encouraging. No question is a stupid question. The information is presented well and easy to follow. I felt no pressure.

We also had Angela come onto the course to teach us some information. She was also welcoming, reassuring and knowledgeable. They both delivered the information at a decent pace and were patient with those who needed more clarification. I'm not sure that together, there is not a great deal these two super women do not know.

Whether you are doing this course to help guide you through your pregnancy and birth, or you yourself want to become a doula, you must MUST choose WPCTS. It will turn you inside out, bend you backwards, and take a good look at yourself - but in a caring way. It certainly did for me. There are the perfect duo, the course is wonderful and enlightening, and is the start of a revolution that will bring women back into their POWER.

I absolutely loved this course! I have been an antenatal teacher since 2015 so I already know quite a bit about birth but this course was so insightful and inspiring. It's not just a "course" it makes you look deeply within and assess many areas of your life so that you can be the best support to your clients. This is an inspiring journey of the mind, body and soul!

The doula course was packed with loads of amazing information. Lots of useful resources to look at as well. It was engaging and the group had a nice amount of people in. Would recommend!!

I've just completed the April course and it was an amazing experience, I would recommend the course to anyone wanting to know more about birth.

I like that this felt very personal, and that we'll be encouraged every step of the way.

Like a breath of fresh air, this is a much-needed service in the current climate of over-medicalised birth, life and death. I feel deeply honoured to have trained with Nickita and Rachel and to be on the right side of history. We are changing the world one birth at a time and beginning to remember exactly who we are.

Having come across Nickita through all the amazing work she does to advocate for women and their choices in birth I knew it was a course I wanted to do. Having now completed it I can honestly say it has changed my life. Nickita has created a platform for like-minded women to truly discuss and understand the majesty of our nature as woman and mothers. The course was comprehensive and taught in an extremely safe and welcoming environment. The learning is also continuous after the course ensuring all new Doulas are supported and part of a tribe. I've had the opportunity to meet incredible women and to learn far more than just the practical side of what being a Doula is, the course has opened up a deep spiritual yerning and all I feel now is LOVE. Wow! This course came at just the right time. I had been procrastinating and worrying about other stuff that was going on in my life. I just took the plunge and just told myself everything would work out. The course was chilled and very relaxed and Nickita is like an encyclopaedia. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge. I cannot recommend the Doula course enough to all who would love to change their life path and the courses offered to parents who are looking for a different way of experiencing childbirth. ❤️

Nickita and Nush both helped us get through an emotional time. They are very supportive.

We learnt that we should be positive around the baby as any negative energy is going to upset the baby,

Before I started the Doula course, I was afraid of another intense study course, where you wouldn't be able to keep up.
This course though is a revolutionary wealth of knowledge that keeps you so engaged that you don't want to be anywhere else. I connected with the ways Nickita is teaching, as it truly comes from the heart!
So grateful I could take this opportunity to expand beyond the horizon of seeing birthing and pregnancy just as it is pictured everywhere else!

I took the course in October and wasn't disappointed. Nickita had an abundance of knowledge and I learnt A LOT. What I really enjoyed was how interactive the course was even though it was on zoom, plenty of questions were asked and answered, nothing was rushed.We also got a lot of information in regards to researching so we could teach ourselves further if we wanted to explore different aspects of pregnancy and birth. I met so many powerful women on the course and also learnt a lot from them, we all shared our skills and knowledge, it really is a beautiful online community that doesn't stop supporting you after you finish.
I'll never regret the decision to do this.

Where shall I start?! In 2021 when I was having trouble with the maternity service in Jersey (because I wouldn't take a PCR or wear a mask when in labour) and was trying to find ways to have the birth I wanted, I found When Push Comes To Shove and met Nickita! This was my first encounter with Nickita and straight away she was able to calm me down and told me I had the right to have the birth I wanted. I felt relieved and supported that someone who understood the system was on my side. Nickita helped me navigate the system and guided me with writing a letter to several medical professionals. Long story short - in September 2021 (a few days after my due date) Nickita advised how I could get things going and she was right! - I pumped 15 minutes on each side and my waters broke half an hour later, and within 2 hours after that contractions started. After contracting besutifully in the comfort of my own home (things progressed nice and quickly) I was then told I had high blood pressure (during a heat wave, so this was normal) and was transferred into hospital. I didn't want to be there and felt forced to stay there (even though I said I'd only go in if I was seen to quickly and I'd come back home to have my baby). I ran out of the hospital instinctly and had my beautiful baby boy at home in the birth pool, just the way I wanted to. Nickita gave me so much empowerment to make the choices I wanted to! I am so blessed I met Nickita and was so grateful to have been given the information in order to make an informed choice. Nickita is so so knowledgeable! I wish I knew as much as her So when I found out that the Doula course had been launched I new straight away that it was something I wanted to do - to help woman learn about natural physiological birth, give woman the tools they need to make an informed choice and help them throughout pregnancy and birth.

The course was absolutely amazing, I didn't want it to end! It was so informative and well led. Each day I couldn't wait to jump on zoom and learn - I'd come off the call buzzing each day. I learn so much but there is still so much more to learn. Rachel and Nickita are forces of nature. They have so much love to give and are passionate on their mission to revolutionise birth and I can't wait to be a part of that. I can't forget to mention that I met and went on this journey with a beautiful bunch of women. I love you all! Here's to the my future and the future of When Push Comes To Shove!!

An amazing experience. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to complete the course and to meet Nickita and Rachel and the wonderful women who were on the course with me. I learned so much about birth and what woman need to help empower them to have the experience they want and deserve - despite the current challenges of statutory maternity services.
