If I could give a negative review I would. I also wish I had searched for reviews before purchasing. I bought 2 pairs of the Widestep buckle shoes and the insoles. The toe box was definitely NOT as advertised - it was squared off and very narrow. No room for my toes. In order to receive my refund I had to send the shoes back to the UK! Needless to say, it was very expensive (over half what I spent for the shoes). Just sent them off today so I don't know how long it will take to receive my refund. Lesson learned - look for reviews!

Buyers BEWARE!! This is actually a zero star review. The 2 pairs of MaryJane shoes ironically advertised to accommodate wide feet are cheaply made and extra NARROW. The return procedure is unstated until you make email contact. Phones don't work. Then you are instructed to return them to Leicester, England at your expense, not the alleged New York address of their website. Fraudulent product and advertising and once you buy you will not be refunded for return of unused shoes.

This company advertises that the flat goes up to 12-12.5. They only go up to 11.5 however. When you try to return them, you have to send them internationally to London England which costs more the the cost of the shoes. Don't get stuck like I did.

Shoes are not wide, neither are they true to size.. I ordered a size.larger than I usually wear and they are at least 2 sizes too small. Company refuses to give a valid return address and will soon be outside the return window for refund. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!

Same as other reviews here. Promised wide widths, arch support and adjustable straps. They are at least two sizes too small and terrible quality! Believe me I will warn everyone I know. I own a caregiving company and at least I can warn my clients!!!

The shoes do not have a wide toe box. They are not as advertised.
I ordered 2 pairs of Mary Jane’s on a BOGO offer, and could barely get them on my feet.
To return the shoes for a refund, you have to sent them to England. The company does not cover the cost of shipping.
If you truly need a wide toe box, do NOT BUY these shoes.

Sad! Buyer beware! Buy one, get one free! Not worth it. Waited over 3 weeks for shoes to arrive. Too small and NOT Wide at all. To return I would have to send to the United Kingdom which costs about the price I paid for the shoes. They are sorry I am unsatisfied and will give be 20% off the original price! If I CANT wear them... what good is that. REPEAT- DO NOT BUY!

I ordered these shoes because of money back guarantee. The quality of these shoes are so poor that I wanted to return it and get my full refund as they claim. If you want to return, you have to pay for shipping to Leicester, UK yourself which is the cost of the shoes. This is such a scam. I am very unhappy with their response.

Do not order from this company if you don’t want to be spammed! I ordered 2 pairs of shoes thinking I would receive what they are advertising. I ordered the Mary Jane style and yes received the colors I ordered but the style was nothing like what they are advertising…..what I received was a very ugly, cheap version of the Mary Jane style shoe. It has a squared off toe, is very narrow not wide and the strap goes diagonal across one’s foot not across the top of the foot! It’s uncomfortable to wear. If you order, you will not get the shoe as advertised but this cheap, uncomfortable knock off! Do not buy from this company! I contacted them and have not heard back. The phone number for service is not working and the NY address is not the company but an arts supply store! Beware!

The shoes are not wide at all...I wear a 6 WW but these are much too narrow. Their return policy is a joke...you pay back to UK to return...horrible company to buy direct from. Never again!!!

My order took longer than expected. When I finally got my order, the shoes did not fit and were very uncomfortable. I assumed free returns meant free returns, however since the shoes were not defective, I would have to pay the postage to return. To make matters worse, the return shipping address is in the United Kingdom! That would be prohibitively expensive. The address used to contact them is in NYC - I surely did not expect to have to send a return overseas when a US address is used in all their correspondence. This is very deceptive and I am stuck with shoes that I can not wear. Do not buy unless you are absolutely sure the shoes will fit!

For those who had issues with the return, start a dispute with your card provider. It will very likely resolve in your favor. I was burned once and now never order from an unknown company without checking on TrustPilot first!

Pennington's has been going down hill for a while now. I find their clothes to be very outdated and just plain ugly.
I did find some jeans I love, they fit perfectly, but the second pair I ordered stink. They smell like they were stored in a sewer. I took the tags off thinking the smell would dissipate but it has not. Customer service is less than useless and rude. When they finally got back to me they told me they do not sell that product and will not refund as adefective item. Excuse me?? They most certainly do as you can still order them.
I am cancelling my account and will shop elsewhere from now on.

Terrible shoes. I purchased these online as they were advertised as wide fit and looked nice. I thought they were a decent price until I was charged and realised they were in US$ (I’m in Australia). They took about 3 weeks before they even left the warehouse in China, and arrived in plastic bags, not a box. They smell like plastic and glue. And they are definitely not wide fit. They are very snug fit for my feet. They may stretch over time, but will likely hurt my feet in the meantime. I should have read the reviews here before purchasing. Very disappointing. I doubt I’ll contact the company for a refund since they came from China and will likely cost more the return than is worth the time, but I would definitely not purchase from them again.

Ads talk about the wide tomboy and these shoes are very narrow. The only wide part of the toe box is that they are pointed toes with the end cut off.

Beware of you don't like or want the shoes. The only way to return the shoes is sending to an address in England! Nothing in their ads say this. What a joke :-(

Got my order finally today. I am extremely disappointed. Not only do these not have a wide toe box, they are in no way a wide shoe. They are comfortable enough to try on, but I sure wouldn't want to feel what they are like after you've been on your feet for very long.
Also, unlike the pictures on the website, the strap does not go straight across your foot. It is on a diagonal. Very deceptive.
I will not try to return these, so you guys win again. I hear that you offer some silly discount on another pair as compensation. No thanks. It also appears that it costs a ridiculous amount to return them.
This is definitely live and learn for me.
Also, it takes a long time for shipping and the tracking is the worst. Warning: they are shipped out of China. That says it all

To return the item, I had to contact customer service to get a return address. The address provided was in the UK, even though the website appears to be based in the U.S. The return shipping cost was over $100—more than the price of the shoes—making the return unrealistic.

In addition, the shoes themselves were extremely flat and provided little to no support, even with the included insoles.

Also, there is no option to leave a review directly on the company’s website, which limits transparency for future customers.

Because of these issues, I would not have purchased if this had been clearly disclosed upfront. I recommend others be aware before buying.

Their customer service is a nightmare! My elderly mother bought 2 pairs of shoes from them. They actually weren't wide (as advertised). Their site states easy returns. FALSE! Their phone number is just an automatic answering machine. Then you have to email them and they email you back as to whether they will issue you a refund. They FINALLY offered my mother 80% back...but she can't even wear the shoes! I highly recommend to NOT order anything from their site. Oh, and shoes aren't even wide!

Requesting a refund they tried to upsell.
Told to send back to the UK (Not in the US as advertised) with a tracking number.
