Engineer was very informative and gave us an excellent service

Booking a service is always a pain because after your initial call they say the team will be in touch to make an appointment,but they just randomly send a date,which you then have to change.
The engineers are great but the office isn't.

Contacted company on sunday by email following a fault on my boiler, receive an email first thing monday with a job number, by 1230 monday engineer had visited and fixed the issue. Great communication and customer service. Engineer was great too , explaning the fault and remedy.

THE HEATING ENGINEER WAS QUICK, EFFICIENT & PERSONABLE.
MY ISSUE WAS NOT KNOWING IN ADVANCE WHEN HE WAS LIKELY TO ARRIVE IE MORNING/AFTERNOON. I HAD TO RING H/O TO ASSERTAIN WHEN HE WOULD BE COMING.

Our boiler is 5 years old.

We have had an annual service plan with Alpha for several years. Last year we requested an annual service when it was coming up to the anniversary of our previous service. Alpha refused to provide this at the time as they wanted to focus on "breakdowns". They eventually did the service 4/5 months later (despite multiple emails chasing). This meant our annual service was actually delivered 15/16 months after the previous one.

About 2 months later our boiler broken down. It took 5 days for someone to come to fix it. This was in July, so not a massive issue for heating. However, we have a baby in the house and a toddler, hot water is essential to clean and wash them.

I made a complaint about the delay in our service, whether this caused damage to our boiler and the fact that we had gone through a 12 months period without a service, which we paid for in a service plan, despite our requests. As part of the complaint I asked if there is an "emergency cover* that they offer to prevent a delay in breakdown response if this happens again. I was told there was not, but was told we would be refunded the cost of our service plan, as we didn't receive a service in that year.

Now, less than 4 months later, it breaks down again. It makes me wonder whether it is the poor quality of the boiler, or damage caused by their failure to conduct an annual service.

Further, they have failed to refund the cost of the service plan - which they agreed to as part of the complaint.

We will now have to wait the best part of a week at least to get an engineer to come, even though we have a baby and a toddler in the house and needing heating through autumn.

To add insult to injury, I have seen in at least one other review here that someone is claiming to have a breakdown cover with Alpha for emergency call out if there is a breakdown - which is what I had asked for months ago.

Avoid like the plague. Do not rely on their service package.

Good communication before arrival, skilled engineer who knew the Alpha boiler very well and undertook the annual service very efficiently and advised on the optimal use of the boiler settings to use.

Excellent engineer visit, serviced my boiler was very friendly and polite and just got on with the job. I would highly recommend these guys.

I bought the boiler from Alpha four years ago with maintenance service plan with the company. The boiler was working fine and the service was done once a year without any problem. During the service they they identified issues couple of time and fixed it on time without any charge according to the warranty agreement. I am completely happy with the product and service.
