WARNING: Predatory Lending Practices — Avoid Amur Equipment Finance
This company is a predatory and dangerous entity to do business with. They lack even a shred of transparency in their documentation. I recently read a review from another customer who bought a truck for $120,000, put $20,000 down, and financed the rest with Amur. Despite paying $2,250 every month for an entire year, they still owe $137,000.
This is exactly what happened to my husband and me. We purchased a truck for $47,000, put $8,000 down, and faithfully paid $1,300 every month for 16 months. After over a year of payments, we somehow still owe $53,000. We have paid thousands of dollars, yet our balance is significantly higher than the original purchase price.
The reviewer who stated that this company’s practices drive small business owners to the point of suicide is absolutely right. For those involved in suicide prevention: look into the lending tactics of companies like Amur. Their dealings create a level of financial ruin and despair that is life-threatening.
My husband and I are supporting four children and elderly parents. The immense stress this company has placed on our family is unbearable. Do not do business with them. Save your livelihood and your sanity—stay away.
