Avoid - unless you are just looking for a paper in hand.
Those who want to take cover from ASC360, please understand these facts and then decide what you want to do.
1. ASC360 is NOT registered under IRDAI and if they fail to live up to their commitments, there is NO recourse for you.
2. Their "policies" are not underwritten by any major insurance platform, and you are at the mercy of their discretion if they want to entertain your claim at all.
3. They are super quick to issue the "policy", but (god forbid) if you need to file a claim, they will use all kinds of excuses to deny or whittle down your claim.
I am still chasing them for trip cancellation claim which occurred due to Uttarkhand weather and trekking permits getting cancelled.

We operate fully within the regulatory framework and are trusted by state tourism boards and government bodies across India and abroad.
Regarding your specific case, our Grievance Team has conducted a thorough review. The policy issued to you was correct and active as per your chosen dates and details. However, the claim submitted pertains to events outside the policy coverage period, which unfortunately makes it ineligible under standard insurance terms. Despite this, our team offered multiple solutions and even considered your request in good faith to find an amicable resolution.
Over the years, ASC360 has supported 500,000+ trekkers and facilitated thousands of successful medical evacuations and claim settlements, including more than 100 death and major medical cases, with a total of over $4 million in claims settled so far. Our commitment to the safety and well-being of adventurers remains our highest priority.

I remembered that i had not taken…
I remembered that i had not taken insurance before Kailash Yatra 50 min before boarding I called up Jitendra singh. And he was super fast in sending me the link and quotation. I could hear the urgency in his voice, with the intent to hell me get the insurance before i boarded. He stayed on WhatsApp and answered my queries super fast too! I filled in the website info, uploaded documents. And had my insurance 20 min before departure. Thanks Jitendra!

My experience with Adventure Sports Cover 360
What I will remember about my experience are:
1. Speed of response
2. Clear and crisp instruction on how I need to raise my claim
3. Prompt clarification of my queries
4. Very very proactive
5. Statement with clarity upfront on what is within scope and what is out of scope of their coverage
6. Speedy resolution of bottlenecks
7. Prompt closure of the claim process. I did not have to follow up on anything - very easy and smooth - right through the process.
I want to close by giving a big shout out to Mr. Gagan Deep Jain Claim Manager who was very helpful and responsive right through the process.

Know the steps to follow in Emergency
We went for hiking to the EBC, in October 2024 and I unfortunately got sick due to Dengue and Elevation sickness and had to take Helicopter back to Kathmandu.
The company Boots and Crampons was horrendous to deal with, as they provided no Guidance.
Point to note is that ASC360 was helpful in arranging for my hospital stay in Kathmandu and we reached an amicable settlement, which is a whole better than these low Lifers at Boots & Crampons.
ASC 360, CEO Mr. Gupta was very helpful and returned my phone calls, even with his busy schedule.

During my SandakPhu trek with India Hikes, I got AMS symptoms after which our trek leader took a call for my evacuation. Had a pretty smooth experience after I claimed for the expenses during the evacuation.

ASC 360 Insurance for Everest Base Camp evacuation
Got ASC 360 Insurance for our Everest Base Camp (EBC) trekking and it became useful when we had to use our insurance for medical evacuation due to Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). From Gorakshep to Lukla Hospital.
We were treated as Outpatients, which costed us each 100USD, which after 50USD deductible the balance can be claimed.
Few drawbacks though:
We contacted the emergency number that night we had AMS symptoms at Gorakshep (5164m), and the emergency number connected us to a doctor on call, and the doctor sent us few priscibtions to be taken that night. Where do we find medication at that hour? and at that altitude, plus it was an off season time. June 2025.
My wife had to take a pony ride from EBC to Gorakshep, cause she had shortness of breath at EBC, which costed USD150. But that cannot be claimed. The reson given was that, it needs to be pre approved by the Insurance. How do we get pre approval for the pony? it's about to be sunset and without mobile phone network coverage it'svimpossible to get pre approval?
Mode of Emergency evacuation is mentioned in the policy though ambulance / pony / helicopter.
Even in their letter of settlement form its mention pony. Upon requesting, why is pony mentioned in the form, the staffs prepared a new letter, removing the word pony.
So, looks like all Insurance has it's pros and cons, and you need to be well-versed in the policy or great at arguing. Anyways greatful for the airlift from Gorakshep. Staffs at ASC Kathmandu were polite and patient with our questions. Would be great if all our medical evacuations were covered though.

While we try our best to make access to emergency doctors available around the clock, the availability of medicine and alternative transport (like ponies) at such remote altitudes can be unpredictable and outside our operational control.
Regarding pre-approvals, we understand your concern. Although pony/ambulance/helicopter modes of evacuation are listed in our policies, prior approval is required for reimbursement to ensure it qualifies as medically necessary and within policy limits. This is a standard insurance practice to prevent misuse, and we acknowledge the challenges this creates in real-time situations where communication is limited. We are constantly working on improving systems to bridge this gap.
On the matter of documentation, our intention was never to mislead. If a revised letter was issued, it was likely done to better reflect the actual covered items under your specific plan, not to hide or omit any terms.

I had an injury in my left leg (during…
I had an injury in my left leg (during my trek to Everest Base Camp).... the Doctor at the High Altitude Clinic checked me and inspected the injury and recommended that, i should not walk anymore (meaning climbing down on rocky terrain & trek would increase the injury), fortunately i had completed the EBC Summit by then and had to descend back to lower altitude...i reported my stituation to ASC360 Insurance, after consulation with the Doctor they arranged for a Helicopter evacuation the next morning to lower altitude (to Lukla from Gorakshep)... the ASC360 Insurance Staff were very helpful and reassuring during my time of need.. All Thanks to them, was very happy i had an ASC360 Insurance to back me up in the time of my need...

Horrible Company
It did not serve the purpose of emergency evacuation. Being a visitor in Nepal; the telecom company did provide free calling services to any local number but when I had to contact ASC360; I had to call to their Indian number for which services were not provided by telecom company; ASC360 failed to have a reachable Nepal local customer number which delayed the communication. You need someone who will assist and help during crisis and that’s what the insurance is required for and if the the agent doesn’t support and informs that they are not going to send for evacuation, it’s a mess. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to take ASC360, not reliable and trustworthy. Even the claim process was humiliating; rejecting the request by vague terms and conditions.

I am beyond frustrated and deeply disappointed with ASC Insurance Company. When I signed up for their policy, I was assured that in times of emergency, especially during evacuation or rescue situations, I would be protected and supported. That could not have been further from the truth.
During a recent critical situation where immediate evacuation and rescue services were not just expected, but absolutely essential, ASC completely failed to deliver. There was no clear communication, no urgency, and certainly no actionable support. Calls went unanswered, and when someone finally did respond, they offered vague, unhelpful answers and empty reassurances. It felt like I was left to fend for myself in a situation where their intervention could have made all the difference.
What’s the point of paying for insurance if, when it really matters, the company doesn’t show up? ASC’s failure put lives at risk and exposed just how unreliable and unprepared they are when it counts the most. I trusted this company with my safety—and they let me down completely.
I strongly advise anyone considering ASC to think twice. When emergencies strike, you need a company that acts—not one that disappears.

We are disappointed by your review, especially considering the extraordinary efforts made to support you—far beyond the terms of your insurance policy.
First and foremost, both our in-house medical team and the clinic at Gorakshep—where you were personally assessed—did not recommend helicopter evacuation. Despite that, we decided to prioritize your safety and arranged a helicopter within minutes, even though it went against the professional advice received.
You were clearly informed that evacuation was not yet medically approved and were asked to wait for the next update. Instead, you chose to descend on horseback from Gorakshep to Pheriche, which was neither recommended nor approved by ASC360. As a result, the helicopter—already dispatched at high cost—reached Gorakshep only to find you had moved without intimation. We incurred extra expenses to reroute and coordinate your eventual evacuation from Thukla.
In addition to this, we made the Gorakshep clinic treatment cashless—a gesture beyond our standard process—and even paid an additional USD 200 to have your luggage retrieved and brought down from Pheriche, something that is explicitly outside the scope of any insurance provider’s responsibility.
Your injury, as noted, stemmed from a pre-existing condition diagnosed in Malaysia, which technically makes the case non-payable under policy guidelines. And yet, we chose to overlook this in your best interest and proceeded with full support.
Amidst all this, miscommunication was further fueled by your trekking operator, who wrongly introduced unrelated personnel as ASC360 representatives, worsening the situation on-ground.
Given the complete extent of support and financial coverage we extended in your case—despite multiple policy violations and operational challenges—this negative review is deeply unjust and misleading.
We stand by our commitment to trekkers' safety, but we also expect responsibility, patience, and clarity from those we serve.
