Decent gym
Decent gym with no pretentious people in it like you find at other more expensive gyms! Good amount of equipment and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Impossible to find parking and public transport not convenient.
Bought tickets for myself and my family to swim but I had to give up, as it was simply impossible to find a parking space. The nearest bus stop is quite far away, so it is pretty unacceptable that they cannot get their act together to build more spaces, when I see so much unused land around. I also would have liked to spend some of my money in their cafe but with such poor infrastructure this was not possible. I had to drive to the main road and sit in my car waiting for my family to finish. I won’t be returning for sure.

The gym and facilities are fine but the…
The gym and facilities are fine but the communal places like stairs and corridors and changing room floors are filthy and not being cleaned. They should be cleaned every couple of hours at least as there are a lot of people passing through. There should be a cleaner working full time and clean every where during the opening hours.

Friendly teacher
Swimming teacher is very friendly and my son really enjoyed his first class. The only problem is that ware in the pool is cold. He was shivering after the lesson.

Freezing pool fraudulently advertised as 29c.
This is a review of Barnet Copthall pool. It is run by a company called Better, which seemingly won the contract from Barnet Council for all its leisure facilities.
We booked tickets today for a pool advertised as being 29c temperature. It wasn’t. It was freezing. Perhaps 24c maximum. I complained to the staff but none of them said they had the ability to measure the temperature. Our child was freezing cold - chattering teeth and all. No-one seemed to care. I told the lifeguards who were a bunch of kids. No response. I told the man behind the check in counter who suggested I emailed someone and wrote an illegible email address on a scrap of paper. So we left after paying a ridiculous amount for a hot drink for my son (who was still shivering).
Bottom line: don’t fraudulently advertise a pool at 29c. Don’t show total lack of care and consideration when this is pointed out to you. Show some empathy. And maybe even offer to buy the poor boy a warm drink when you don’t do any of the above.
One star for lack of service and incorrect temperature.
Time for Barnet to terminate the contract with this company.

Not the best experience so far....
So I use the swimming pool at Barnet and Copthall, why even bother with lane swimming when you have people doing 'test swims' in the slow lane where it is a clear health and safety risk? They aren't looking where they are going and swimming fast, and your staff who should know better and be trained yell at me for telling someone off for repeatedly almost swimming into me at speed?
Train your staff better. Warn people in the slow swimming area if people are doing a 'test swim' whatever that is or stick them in the fast lane?! Ridiculous.
I'm autistic, if someone touches me (which they absolutely should not be doing in a pool) I will freak out, but let me guess it will be my fault?
Your staff seem rude, another time I wanted a coin for the lockers and your staff at the desk seemed more preoccupied with chatting and when I said excuse me after standing there awkwardly for a minute or so he responds with 'yeah?', rude.
Also WAY too many people in the lanes sometimes that it's impossible to even swim properly.
Do better. The only reason I use this place is because it's more affordable swimming than most other gyms.
I just want to enjoy a nice quiet swim and not have the anxiety of people bashing into me and staff yelling at me.
