EDF Heat Pumps Reviews 

My Journey started in June 2025 with the EDF team who where very helpful and explained the steps and process required to upgrade from my Gas combination boiler to the Ideal HP290 8Kwh Heat pump and Ideal HP Cylinder - PPC210.

The reason I chose Ideal was because of the quality of there equipment and there outstanding technical support after the system has been installed and commissioned.

As mine was a big job including 8 Radiators to replace Cheryl Teall and a team of 5 Engineers and one electrician where on site most of the time doing the work.

Starting on Monday 1st September the team first explained what would be happening and where things where going to go.

1st step was to remove my Old Combination boiler and pipes before capping off the gas.

2nd step was to run the electrics and isolation switch ready for the Boiler and heat pump.

3rd step was to install the Ideal HP Cylinder - PPC210 ready for all the pipes from the heat pump.

4th Step Mount the Ideal HP290 8Kwh Heat pump outside and run the pipes to connect to the Boiler.

5th step while step 4 was been carried out the Plumbers swapped out the 8 Radiators around the house and they tidied up as they went along which was nice to see.

6th Step connect all the new water and heating pipes up as well as insulating them all as they progressed.

7th Step was to connect all the electrics to the Heat pump and Cylinder.

8th Step was to commission the new equipment and bring it all online.

Cheryl Teall and a team where excellent they explained as they progressed and answered all my questions.

The team cleaned up at the end of each day and removed all the rubbish as the job progressed, they where all very polite and would recommend them to anyone getting this sort of work done as it’s a big change on how we heat and get hot water for our home.

As I have Solar and plenty of battery storage it’s a perfect combination for me and now I am fully electric on all my home as well as electric car so no more fossil fuels for me moving forward.

Thanks to EDF and Westwood Plumbing and heating for all there support on a stress free Journey on getting my Heat pump installed I would highly recommend them.

Excellent survey of our property conducted by the EDF Heat Pump Team. The surveyor (Jordan) was courteous and helpful throughout. We successfully worked through the installation particulars, together. I am pleased with the heat loss calculation result, the specified heat pump and the radiator schedule proposal. EDF Heat Pumps have just completed my installation, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the workmanship and the team.

The tradespeople were excellent from start to finish: plumbers Toby, George, Ollie, and Connor, and electrician Connor. From the moment they arrived, they laid down protective floor coverings and made sure to keep everything tidy, cleaning up after themselves throughout the job.

The copper pipework was crafted with so much care and attention that it genuinely looked like a piece of sculpture — a shame to have to lag it afterwards! The standard of plumbing and electrical work has been superb, and everything has been left in perfect order.

The office team also deserve credit — Jo checked in with me multiple times during the installation to make sure everything was running smoothly and that I was happy at each stage.

Overall, a thoroughly professional and skilled team. Highly recommended.

I have been living with the heat pump over 12 months now and have made significant savings on my previous gas supply for heating. The installation was well handled by CB Heating and its specialist installers who completed the work in 4 days.

I am still trying to get compensation for the tenant, who had her towels used to clear up filthy water from the radiators. This same water was allowed to soak into new fitted carpeting and the cleaning left rings of black marks. There was so much junk left in the bedroom, on the evening of the fitting that the tenant could not even use their bed. No apology or warnings given. Black hand marks were left on door frames and paintwork. Not just little marks that could be wiped away.
The person leading the fitting has left the company. Her communication was awful.
I honestly wish I had not wanted to think of the environment and I had just got a combi fitted for one third of the cost. I am nervous for winter! I put today's date but the fitting was back in March/April!!!!!

Highly rate EDF Heat Pumps for their expertise, knowledge and excellent customer service. Jenny is very professional yet compassionate and understanding of our needs. Our old boiler has broken down and we are without any heating. We are very happy with the EDF quotation and it was a close call but in this instance have decided to remain with our local known Company.

Seamless from start to finish. Really lovely and prompt people. Phoebe kept us up to date with everything. Straight forward process. Neat job. Would highly recommend.

EDF offered excellent service. All communication was informative and we were consulted on every stage. We are really happy with how the installation went with the planning and execution with EDF, designer and installers. Overall excellent management of the installation of our air source heat pump and we would recommend their service.

The installation was done by Sam and his team from SNT Plumbing & Heating LTD and they did an absolutely fantastic job, finishing everything much faster than anticipated with minimal disruption, couldn’t have gone better.

The heat pump installation went very well and all the process was clear and fairly simple. I barely had to do anything and was well looked after. Thank you.

My Heat Pump installation has just been completed so it is much to early to comment on the functionality or running cost of the system. However the whole process from initial contact and quotation through to start of installation has been very professional with friendly, courteous and helpful staff, including Maxine Wayland, Stephanie Byrne, designer Charles Gillard et al answering my many queries and questions promptly. My installation was not a straightforward one with the design/layout of the property complicating the issue and needing some quite difficult pipe runs in not easy to access locations and 8 large replacement radiators. The installation team led by John Tutill with Mackenzie, electricians Ash and Jack worked extremely hard throughout and kept me informed as work progressed. There were one or two hiccups along the way and the job took longer than expected (80 man hours) but the end result is to my satisfaction. I am a retired Chartered Engineer and a bit of a perfectionist so am usually very on edge when work is being done on my property but I quickly realised that John and team knew what they were doing and I relaxed, although the work rate they put in and the 3 long days left me exhausted and I was only watching! During the installation some unavoidable minor damage was caused but after discussion with John remedial work to my satisfaction was expedited. EDF is my energy supplier and I'm very happy that I chose them to do this job as I was expecting the process to be pretty tortuous; but in the end it has been much less disruptive than I expected and much of that is down to the efficiency and commitment of all those involved. All I need now is some cold weather to ascertain whether the system delivers the benefits I hope for!

Everything was organised perfectly, it all arrived on time and the installation went as planned. Throughout the process my main liaison was Phoebe and the communication from her and the rest of the team was perfect. Couldn't ask for more.

Had our heat pump installed in December 2024. It was the last day as CB heating and first day as EDF heating. They were great fitting us in before Christmas, the installation team were quick and tidy and the system is delivering over 4 COP so we’re are extremely happy with the service and product. Can’t recommend them enough.

When I first decided that I wanted to install a heat pump in my house, I wasn't at all sure about what the process would involve. I chose CB Heating because they had extensive experience in that area, and am pleased to say that they guided me well through the process. They arranged the survey, the design process and the actual installation, as well as visits from an energy assessor to provide an Energy Performance Certificate and an electrician to install an isolator before installation began.
The installers, led by Mark Cranmer, were here for three days and inevitably there was disruption, and I was without hot water for a day, but they kept me informed about what they were doing and cleaned up after themselves each day. There was a hiccup over delievery of the materials - I was initially told that they would be delivered a week or so before installation, and the driver duly arrived, only to then be told by his boss that he couldn't unload anything until the installers were present. So, he had to come back again on the first day of the installation. But the installation then proceeded on schedule. Throughout the whole process, Phoebe Matthews kept me informed about what was happening - and she was there to answer the phone when the problem over delivery became apparent.
The installation coincided with the start of warmer spring weather, so I can't tell yet whether the heat pump will heat the house effectively when needed. Nor can I get much idea yet of the running costs. But it has been working and supplying hot water for over three months now, without any obvious problems.

Great experience from start to finish, especially Jennifer Humphrey who demonstrated the different heat pumps available. Lana Barrett kept in touch all the way through the process & answered any questions as they came up. Fitting team arrived at exact time & date as was agreed. Well done EDF heat pumps.

The installation of our Ideal HP590 monobloc heat pump by the preferred installers for EDF - DMR heating and plumbing was first class - from Dan who did the survey through Daryl and Ben who worked hard quickly and the pipe work is an absolute masterclass - any issues were rapidly sorted and nothing was too much trouble - the device itself has been thoroughly tested from a hot water side and it is just as good as our old gas system for heat ( with the added benefit of having a cool place to stand during the heat waves in wales just like an outdoor aircon system) - the staff at EDF were also polite responsive and helpful - thumbs up all round - Ed North Wales

A year ago CB Heating (EDF arm for air source heat pump installations) did a really good job of installing a High Temp Air Heat Source pump, from design to installation everything went smoothly, they assured me that they would stand by me for any warranty and servicing and has performed really well through the winter months, all very good.
However, it's come to the time where the system needs it's first annual service, I contacted customer care via email, they responded we don't do servicing you'll have to contact Daikin here's the telephone number goodbye! I was somewhat mifed with this attitude, but contacted Daikin as stated. Daikin responded that the system had not be registered with them and now because I haven't had a service within the year the 5 year warranty is also void, until it's registered they wouldn't give me any contact details of a servicing agent in my location! I'm furious that the system hasn't been registered by CB Heating and even more angry that CB Heating won't service their own installations and have invalidated the warranty even though they said that they would stand by me post installation. To rub salt into the wound the system has now developed a fault and is leaking water over the roof space and no longer works. I have no idea who is going to service this white elephant because there doesn't seem to be anyone in my location willing to do it.
I always say that you don't know how good a business is until you need aftercare or a warranty claim and how they resolve the issue. I'll leave it to the reader of this review to consider what I have said and to make their own mind up if they would like to hand over £13-14,000 to CB Heating and have little to no post installation back up when required.

*UPDATE: After I wrote this review CB Heating immediately contacted me and were very apologetic for what had happened. First of all they quickly organised an engineer to repair the system, within a few days it was running as smoothly as it usually does. They then contacted Daikin to resolve the the annual service agreement and reinstate the 7 year extended warranty. At every stage I have been reliably telephoned and emailed by Danny Tracey, I couldn't have asked for more, he was understanding, supportive and totally brilliant with getting the issues sorted.

Summary: My view of CB Heating, well all companies can fail at customer service from time to time, I guess it was my turn this time, but it's how they support you when things go wrong that defines how good a company is. Would I recommend them, I really would, they have supported me through what was a frustrating moment where I had doubts about them and my choices. The title of this review will remain because CB Heating came through with the support when I really needed them, well done!
