If I could give ZERO stars I would. Never in my entire life have I encountered such blatant incompetence. I have been trying since March (it is now September) to sell 44 shares of stock. I have been misquoted directions, given conflicting instructions, conflicting forms, each representative literally pulls stuff out of their rear end. I have now taken to documenting each interaction and sending via registered mail to the company. Today was perhaps the best - 10 days ago I was informed because the company made a scriveners error on my address (and they fixed it) they have an internal policy that they cannot execute a trade for 10 days. I wrote it down and asked the rep to confirm that understanding in notes in my account (unclear if he did). Today when I called to execute the sale I was told there is a hold for "fifteen business days" - when I questioned the rep and referenced the letter I had sent via registered mail. she REFUSED to look at the letter and said she needed to check (Clearly she hasn't a clue either - just pulling stuff out of her ass). Kept me on hold for 10 minutes. Now informed me that It is 15 calendar days (yet again different than what she originally quoted and what I was quoted 10 days ago.)
COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE!!!!!!!!!

avoid at all costs. Everything their website is designed to do is to make it difficult for you to access your money. Nothing but delays, mandatory use of snail mail to obtain password verification codes, just ridiculous. I hate everything about this company and am cashing out everything just to be rid of them.

There are over 2000reviews with an average score of 1.8 . What does that tell you. And no responses from the company !

Why any serious company would use them defies logic .

This company is Stone Age and incredibly inefficient and deceitful .

I’ve held some shares via them for many years and decided to sell them on 24 AUGUST , to be told that settlement is T+10 ! Normal trades on FTSE are T+2 .

Then on settlement they tell me that the funds will be in my account “within three to 5 working days depending on the receiving bank “ .Strange how i can transfer funds with immediate receipt by beneficiary?

So , based on my sale on 24 August , it could be 21 days (not working days ) of lost interest to me , but interest gained for them .

Outrageous .

NEVER sell shares via this company .

TOD means didly squat to them. We have fighting this for over 3 years. Our mother had 3 accounts with them and they have only paid out 1. If you know anyone still living that has accounts with computershare, tell them to cash them out and invest somewhere else.

extremey difficult to work with. Sent in a medallion certified intent to sell order, they sold 1/4 of a share 3 days after the date listed on the certified sell order, then told me that the intent to sell letter and the shares held did not match and i would need to resubmit. I never authorized them to sell the a fraction of a share. No notice was provided and I was told it was a 3-4 week processing time to complete the order as well. This is on behalf of a business entity

Sold out of my stock 4 companies due to poor service. Sold out on the 5th did not get my checks until the 24th 19 days. Open the evenlope the correct way barely ripping the checks now i have to order more. If you are counting on computer shares to fix the problem. Pigs will Fly first most put important things in an interior envelope so they are protected. Terrible Service means Terrible Company. Now I am being told it will be September 5 so one month later. If you need your money for any reason dont expect computer shares to get it to you in a reasonable amount of time. Because of computer shares I am borrowing money to pay my rent. I sold out on the 5th. At the most I should have had my money by the 10th not 30 days later. Would not, Could not recommend to any friends, or family PERIOD! In fact if asked I would encourage others to Sell Out and get a broker much much faster service and better service I presume things could not have gone worse.

If possible, avoid doing business with Computershare. This company puts up as many unnecessary customer roadblocks as possible. I've had so much difficulty at every turn - spending literal hours on hold, waiting for a verification code to arrive in the physical mail, needing to obtain a Medallion Signature Guarantee stamp at the bank, having to send a physical form to sell shares...it's truly ridiculous. In financial transactions with other providers (banks, Amex, Charles Schwab, etc.), I've *never* had anywhere close to this level of difficulty and inconvenience. I'm currently on hold - again - and am writing this review after spending 30+ minutes waiting for a response from an agent on their chat - after logging into my account and supplying all of my identifying information. I've also tried calling and requesting a call back. My next step is moving all money out of this account ASAP. I never want to have to deal with them again.

Each weekend over the past month one of my stocks in my portfolio of 11 has mysteriously disappeared and reappeared a couple days later with no explanation.

The customer service is horrible! I have been trying to speak with a live person and remained on the line for over an hour. I eventually hung up. I have been calling for 2 days. The customer service is terrible and online is terrible! I reset my password and it still would not let me into my own account. Never spoke to a live person and that is pathetic. All I wanted was a copy of my 1099. I can't download it because my online account is not working.

Despite all the negative reviews, I had some questions about changing the name some of my shares had been issued under. Took at bit of navigation to get past the Bot and chat to a person. I ended up chatting to Mussa. He was polite and efficient and answered all my questions patiently and correctly, even the stupid ones.

COMPUTERSHARE ..... TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE Customer Service. Pompous organization. Website is software engineering failure. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Absolutely shocking, Service if your shares have been transferred to these people, I wish you the best of luck.in trying to get them back, because they are pretty much gone. They have zero communication.

As an advocate for elderly and disabled services, this company needs to be investigated. Their deliberate inefficient practices are aimed at discouraging individuals from receiving their claims. Long call waits, incomplete requests for documentation, broken and outdated online customer services. Disgraceful they are allowed to practice abusive action on the elderly and disabled.

Terrible never again will I use this broker.

This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my 53 years. The automated service at the beginning kept making the wrong selections. Then I was asked to give a number for them to call back in case the call got dropped. Then I was on hold for 55 minutes. The person who answered could hear me at first but then said she could not hear and left the call. No one called back.

It's very difficult to get information. Difficult to speak to a person and when you do they don't know why your account is locked. The primary way to reach evidently is by chat, but the chat just closes itself out when you try and chat. It doesn't work. This company is holding zillions of shares? Really?

Nobody there knows what they're doing. Despite having files and call logs, each time you call, you need to tell them what they told you on the last call. They don't send forms they are requested to send, they delay processing forms you do send to them. An overall nightmare to deal with and nearly all of their customer service agents are nasty (probably because they deal with unhappy customers all day long).

Absolutely horrible customer support experiences. I have been trying for months to transfer stocks from a deceased shareholder to a trust established by their estate.
Every time I think I have given them all the information they need, they tell me there's a problem, and I need to call them.
Calling them includes long wait times; an AI system that tries to keep sending me to their website (which does not have what I need); and CSRs who either tell me something different every time I call, or who don't record the information I provide into their system.
Then the whole thing starts all over again with them telling me they don't have what they need, and to call them.

The only good thing to come out of this is that I am 100% clear that I don't want to ever have to deal with this company again. Once the title transfers are finally completed, the stocks will all be sold so I never, ever have to deal with ComputerShare again.

(FWIW, my sister also found them completely incompetent 2 years ago when she was trying to change her stocks from a custodial minor account to an individual account.)

Just try contacting them. I dare you. Try do get your own money out of them.

Computershare Australia – Delayed Dividend Payment
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Vanguard and Computershare regarding the payment of dividends from my Vanguard investments in VVLU and VMIN.
I invested in Vanguard ETFs VVLU and VMIN and was expecting dividend payments dated 16 July 2026.
When I checked my Computershare account, I discovered that my bank details needed to be set up. I updated my bank account details on 17 July 2026, but after three weeks I am still waiting for the dividend payment.
I contacted Computershare and was told that I needed to wait longer, but I was not given a clear explanation or a definite payment date.
Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience with two companies that should be providing investors with a reliable and transparent dividend payment service.
