Asked them about costs and the modification they found my paypal and tried to invoice me without me agreeing to the service bit dodgy shit service

I’m trying them every night in the nightclub you basically can’t hear anything you hear only a prima and no Base at all. I can compare these expensive and good quality headphones with no even £10 cheap headphones they got absolutely no Base at all isolation 0 no isolation at all. I don’t know if this headphones are defected or they are like this. I believe they defected because can’t expect something like that they awful very bad quality.

Dopo una Sennheiser HD800 e una HD800S sono entrato in possesso di una cuffia Sennheiser HD650. Da sempre, ormai molti anni, sono pilotate da un amplificatore Little Dot MK VIII SE a valvole, queste ultime sostituite con delle NOS Mullard anni '60, e upgrade dei condensatori con degli Audyn ed eliminazione delle strozzature quali fusibili sul percorso del segnale e selettore guadagno già alto di default, oltre allo smorzamento del telaio per prevenire vibrazioni o risonanze. Doveroso aggiungere la sorgente con meccanica di lettura Teac P30 e DAC Wadia X64.4, la prima con nuova interfaccia e la seconda aggiornata negli elettrolitici dell'alimentazione e nuova sezione d'uscita a discreti in classe A. L'amplificatore cuffie non è collegato all'uscita del DAC, soluzione più breve, ma ho preferito interporre un preamplificatore Pass Labs X0.2 che mi offre, a parità di timbrica, una migliore spazialità del palcoscenico. Andiamo al punto; amo la HD800, un po' meno la HD800S acquistata per sopperire a una certa mancanza di bassi. Nonostante trattasi di cuffie top di gamma manca qualcosa che ho trovato nella mitica HD650, a fronte di un palcoscenico più raccolto internamente alla testa e una risoluzione inferiore. Una timbrica più calda con un punch superiore che non esasperando il dettaglio rende la musica più emotivamente coinvolgente. Bene, soddisfatto per tanti anni, allora? Si, sin quando tempo fa non mi sono imbattuto in un articolo sul web che parlava della modifica della Custom Cans riguardante la HD650 che mi incuriosiva, ma non al punto di acquistarla, forse incredulo. Settimane fa, in un sito di appassionati, di nuovo un altro incontro; qui si dibatteva su alcune cuffie e tra queste la HD650 modificata con il kit Copper Mass Loading. Valutato quanto letto, questa volta la curiosità ha fatto propendere la mia scelta per l'acquisto, invero abbordabile economicamente e da non farti pentire in caso di mancati risultati. Arrivato oggi 28 aprile il kit, ho preriscaldato l'impianto e dopo gli ascolti in cuffia versione originale ho proceduto prima all'eliminazione delle spugnette interne e fatta una prova il cui risultato andava nella direzione da me gradita, maggiore aria con un incremento della sezione medio-bassa e bassa che faceva, però, trapelare anche un pizzico di durezza. Quindi, posizionato, come da tutorial, il Copper Mass in ogni padiglione ho rimontato il tutto e ho iniziato gli ascolti con eguale discografia, neanche a dirlo. I mancati risultati a cui prima avevo accennato sono stati subito archiviati da un coinvolgimento emotivo durante lo scorrere della musica. Scomparsa anche quel po' di durezza, veniva fuori la caratteristica timbrica della HD650 che la vuole un po' ruffiana, ma questa volta con più estensione in basso e maggiore risoluzione, medi egualmente presenti ed alti più estesi che conferiscono maggiore aria; il tutto a favore di una spazialità che tende a uscire dal cranio. Da questo punto di vista si avvicina, solo per intenderci, alla HD800S, meno alla HD800. La parte medio bassa e bassa ne risente positivamente di più per impatto e risoluzione senza trascurare la tipica rotondità. Insomma, una gran sorpresa il cui risultato è ottimo a fronte di un piccolo impegno economico e di pochi minuti di appassionato lavoro. Altamente raccomandati, sia il Kit che l'azienda Custom Cans; unica nota negativa le spese di dogana non imputabili se non alla Brexit! Grazie per l'attenzione. Buoni ascolti.

The headband strap is of good quality and the support was reactive, however I had to manually cut the M3 tape and the glue was "out of stock", I would need to reach out to them again if I wanted some new.

I had contacted Sennheiser directly about a replacement part and they said they do not sell such a part. Custom Cans, however, was all over it and kept in contact throughout the order process. It arrived in Canada very promptly and I am thrilled to have my headphones back. Thoroughly considering custom colours now.

I like the concept of what this cable is as well as I find sonically it just gets out of the way. It does not impede what is presented from the source all the way to your eardrums. Product is well made and very well thought out. Custom Cans is great and will be returning for sure.
