We entered DFS Lincoln today not entirely sure what we wanted and what our options were. Sham kindly showed us a few financial options and explained the availability of certain products. Sham we patient with us as we eventually decided on what we wanted to decorate our new home with. I would highly recommend a friend or family member to ask for Sham next time they are in need of furniture.

Josh was excellent he made my 82 year old mum most comfortable, found the right sofa and extras she needed. 10 out 10 everyday

Really wasn’t looking forward to trawling around Lincolns furniture shops and having visited three arrived at DFS. Parking was excellent, free and virtually on the doorstep. Good size store with loads of choice with everything clearly priced including various offers/ bundles. Having walked in after a few minutes was approached by Megan who asked if she could help, having explained I was just having a look around she offered to assist should I need anything and was happy to leave me to look around. Having seen a couple of things I was interested in that could be bought either individually or a bundle Megan was happy to talk through the options. With those explained I planned to return the following day with my wife to have the final say, ie which suite, what colour and what material and the job was a good un.Happy wife happy life.

From entering the store our experience was first class the staff were friendly and made a coffee for us, my wife is in a wheelchair and they made sure we could access all the furniture we wanted to look at when we had made our choice they explained all the options fully including delivery etc. The young man who looked after us was polite and very knowledgeable I would certainly recommend DFS in Lincoln to anyone who is thinking about purchasing a sofa

Great selection of sofas to try out and choose from. The salesman (Little Josh) was brilliant. He was helpful and knowledgeable but not pushy. He gave us space to wander around the store and make our own decision but was there for advice when needed. Once we had chosen, he took us through the ordering process and advised us on some useful features and add-ons. Great products and excellent service.

We went into the Lincoln Branch on Sunday 31st May for some ideas on sofas. Daniel approached us straight away, introducing himself and asking if we had anything in mind. We gave him our wishlist, which was quite lengthy, and after 3 suggestions, we found the sofa we loved. Daniel was able to find the material we wanted, the configuration and provided us with all the information we needed. He was a great character, so professional and so polite. He gave us so much confidence and we felt truly listened to and not pressured. We have told some of our friends to go to DFS and ask for Daniel!!!

Megan was very helpful and clear when telling me about how to look after the recliner I bought and the sofa care package. Also, had great humor!

Shocking aftermarket service and quality of material.
Having purchased a corner sofa from DFS Lincoln with recliners we had had the sofa just over six months when we lodged a complaint to DFS about the wear of the material on one of the recliners and sagging of the cushioning. They initially agreed that the material was not wearing as expected and came out to replace the material cover of one of the recliners and replace the padding. The repair was undertaken but It was evident that the colour of the new material was distinctly lighter than the rest of the sofa and the padding quickly sagged. We raised this issue with DFS immediately - and they sent out numerous people to view the sofa who agreed it was not satisfactory. However on the final visit by the manager she disagreed to agree and would only offer a padding repair but was not prepared to replace the material and said the colour match was down to wear and tear of the new sofa even though the material was only two weeks old after the repair. We was given other options to change the sofa but at a cost. Sorry once bitten, twice shy - why would I want to pay more money to a company I’ve now lost complete trust in. I involved the Ombudsman but they have failed to understand that I’m complaining about the repair but instead refer back to the original sofa as they too have quoted wear and tear is reasonable after six months plus. This is not possible as the repair was only two weeks old.
Everyone who I invite into the house to see the sofa feels the same as me and they are shocked by what they can see and how DFS are treating us as a customer. I’ve explained to DFS that it is a short term gain for them for a long time loss as I will keep taking every opportunity to make people aware of the quality of their sofa I’ve bought and their aftermarket service.
All I will say to anyone purchasing a sofa is too think twice and ask DFS how the material is expected to wear, what it should look like in six months time, ask them to put it into writing before you buy and ask them how they would treat a complaint in the future if you experience what I’ve been through. I’m very happy to let people come and view my sofa if you wish to make your own judgement rather than take for granted what the salesmen tell you in the shop. Since I’ve populated my concerns on a Facebook I’ve been sent many similar horror stories.
