Discover Africa planned our 10 day trip across Botswana and Zimbabwe. From the very first call, Vihann at Discover Africa was hugely knowledgeable and communicative and understood our brief perfectly. Vihann was quick to send us a first itinerary and responsive to any comments we had to help us create the perfect trip. In the run up to the trip, Vihann remained on hand for any questions. During the trip itself, the organisation was seamless and the lodges that Vihann had chosen were exactly what we were looking for - relaxed luxury, close to nature and small-scale. Planning our trip with Discover Africa was a great experience, which I would highly recommend!

This was a trip of a lifetime, beginning with seeing a leopard right off after pick up at the Seronera airstrip in Kenya! We used Elewana properties for an 8 night stay, 3 in Kenya (Sand River camp), 4 in Tanzania (Elewana Pioneer Camp) and 1 night near Ngorogoro Crater at the Manor. 5-star service at all these properties. Susan Susan Veldman's attention to detail in what I considered a bit complicated itinerary was spot on. From the time we were picked up at the first airstrip, I knew we were in good hands. The seamless transfers were appreciated---I have some anxiety over a trip this complicated and I never suffered any angst during the entire 9 days! Wonderful itinerary planned for us and I just wish we could do it again soon! Don't hesitate to book with Discover Africa!

The entire experience was incredible! Susan Swanepoel was a very responsive agent who helped plan everything seamlessly from Cape Town to Vic Falls to Sabi Sands. Stayed at Sabi Sabi bush lodge. Spotted big 5 at least twice over in a 4 night stay with 6 drives. I would highly recommend Discover Africa, Susan and the entire trip!

From our first communication, our Discover Africa contact, Megan Warrington, listened to our wish list and did everything needed to provide us with a once in a lifetime experience. I wanted to go to Botswana, and we went to two camps in Botswana, which Megan recommended and which were outstanding; I wanted to see elephants, and I saw herds of them; I wanted to see the big cats, and saw them up close; I wanted to see Victoria Falls, and was awed by them. The itinerary Megan put together made our whole trip seamless from start to finish. I would highly recommended Discover Africa

Our initial call with the agent identified what our needs, and preferences were (budget, experience, types of accommodations, etc.). Everything went without a hitch. While we expected the game drives to be wonderful (which they were), other recommended activities exceeded expectations.

Discover Africa provided a fantastic itinerary for our first visit to South Africa. Our agent, Diane, was very helpful in making suggestions and adjustments, and a true lifesaver when we became ill on the trip and needed to rebook some of the itinerary day of! We'll be back to the African continent in the future and will be using Discover Africa.

We loved Sabi Sabi Earthlodge. The daily safari was terrific. We saw many interesting animals. The guides were excellent. The place itself was beautiful and the people were friendly and accommodating.

Antoinette put together a terrific package for us (6 travelers) that exceeded all of our expectations. I provided the dates, general guidance on the type of experience we wanted, and budget. Antoinette did all the rest. I usually plan all of my own vacations, but I could not have done this on my own.

The Kenya part of the trip was excellent. The driver/guide was very knowledgeable and supportive. The Tanzania driver/guide was inexperienced and the vehicle also was not up to the standards. During the later part of the trip, the vehicle broke down and we had to hitch a ride on our own with another party.

Trip planning was terrific as was the execution.

The best thing about the trip was the staff and guides, everyone from being picked up at the airport was fantastic. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was the first hotel was too noisy. The room was ok staff were great but the noise level from the street was terrible.

I rarely award 5/5 stars for any product or service but in this case I am delighted to make an exception.
Last September I reviewed safari holidays and travel agents in South Africa and after seeing outstanding reviews for Discover Africa in Cape Town I decided to use them.
My advisor with DA was (the excellent?) Vihann Van Wyck and I found him efficient, knowledgeable and competent. He organised a 9 day holiday consisting of a 4-day safari at the wonderful Timbavati Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park followed by 4 days in Cape Town touring the stunning scenery surrounding it.
The service from start to finish was excellent from being met at Johannesburg airport by a personally chauffeured car to wonderfully attentive staff at Timbavati to a great personal chauffeur/guide showing me around the beautiful Cape town area.

Discover Africa was a great company to plan our African dream. Devryn was always responsive and patient with us! He planned a great trip. We went to the gorillas in Rwanda, went on a 3 day Serengeti safari, and a beach holiday in Zanzibar.

I found the agency through an Internet search and contacted it without really knowing where I was landing.
We were late and had special requests. Susan, our agent, understood our requirements very well and worked to meet them. All her proposals were very well targeted. Very pleasant to have someone listening. Easy interaction, even at a distance, great availability. And this didn't stop once the reservations were made. I'm thinking in particular of the follow-up for health and consular requirements.

On site, everything worked very well. Smooth, on-time transfers, attentive, very professional staff.
We stayed at two lodges, in Kenya and Tanzania, for a total of 6 days. Two different experiences, two top experiences. Beautiful facilities, friendly, smiling staff, competent and attentive driver/guide. Two game drives per day, a lot of animals, small ones, big ones, thousands of pictures, lots of magical moments.
My siblings and I went on this safari to honour our recently deceased older brother. The response from the people on site was simply incredible in its warmth and humanity.

Yes, a safari isn't cheap, but it's an experience, a gift to yourself.
