I just wasn’t wowed by the fee structure ultimately there were better arrangements for me made available elsewhere which is fine as horses for courses

Professional manner of all staff. The Branch Manager, David Tomlins was always available should you need his advice and guidance and with his years of experience this was greatly appreciated in a long drawn out sale & purchase. We must particularly give special mention to the Sales Progressor, Chelsey Baldwin who was absolutely outstanding in all her efforts to get the deals done. Her support throughout this difficult process was invaluable. We would also like to mention Donna, who led all the viewings who was also a lovely friendly lady. We would have no hesitation in recommending Douglas Allen and in particular the Hornchurch Office to help anyone with their house move.

The Billericay branch have been amazing, taking the time helping me with documents and getting my house sale all organised and progressed, especially Tanya, Oscar, Gary and Sharna

I had an excellent experience with Nisha Kaur, Sales Manager at Douglas Allen Chadwell Heath, during the purchase of my property at 108 Primrose Avenue, RM6 4PR, with completion scheduled for 27/07/2026.

From the beginning, Nisha was professional, approachable, and highly responsive. She kept me informed throughout every stage of the purchase, communicated clearly with all parties involved, and was always available to answer my questions. Her dedication, attention to detail, and proactive approach helped make the entire process much smoother and less stressful.

Nisha's commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring everything progressed efficiently was truly appreciated. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. Thank you, Nisha, for all your hard work and support—I really appreciate everything you have done.

I contacted the Douglas Allen Basildon branch when I was searching for a property they had advertised. Ever since then, I have been receiving a constant stream of marketing emails, text messages, and even letters through the post.

My main complaint is that there is no simple or convenient way to opt out of these marketing communications. Their emails did not provide a clear unsubscribe option, and their text messages did not include any instructions such as replying “STOP” to unsubscribe. The only way I could find to stop the marketing was to call the branch directly, which should not be necessary.

I called the Basildon branch today at 2:14 pm to ask for the marketing to stop and to express my frustration. Unfortunately, the member of staff I spoke to was not friendly or professional. Instead of understanding why I was frustrated, he became defensive and appeared to respond with frustration and anger himself. That made an already disappointing experience even worse.

Aggressive and persistent marketing without providing customers with an easy way to opt out does not reflect good customer service. It feels intrusive and shows little respect for customers’ privacy and preferences.

I hope Douglas Allen reviews both its marketing practices and the customer service provided by the Basildon branch. Making it difficult for customers to stop marketing communications is frustrating, and staff should be able to handle customer concerns professionally rather than responding defensively.

We have been in our new home for just over a week & to say we are pleased is an understatement. The service from the staff at the Wickford office has been fantastic from the first viewing with Caroline we knew this was the house we had been searching for. I have to mention the hard work carried out by Natasha in getting us through the exchanging of contracts & completion process, her efforts were outstanding! Had an amazing experience dealing with Sharna from the Billericay branch, she made the whole buying process super easy and was a pleasure to deal with.

Douglas Allen Hornchurch were brilliant from beginning to end. Our case was tricky due to selling two properties in order to purchase one bigger property, but David from Douglas Allen lined us up with perfect buyers, coordinating 'open house' viewing days supervised by the Douglas Allen Team, all of whom were friendly, on time and professional.

Once sold, our progressor Chelsey took over. Chelsey's skills were second to none. Communication was excellent, always responding to emails or telephone messages. She kept us up to date at all stages and guided us through everything brilliantly.

The experience and professionalism of both Chelsey and David was abundantly evident and they are great assets to Douglas Allen.

Aside from Chelsey and David, whom we dealt with the most, everyone in the team that we came into contact with were helpful, pleasant, supportive, proactive and professional.

I honestly could not fault this team and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to move. If I ever move again, I will definitely be going back to Douglas Allen.

From the moment we met Lisa, who came to value our uncle’s property, I knew we would be choosing Douglas Allen. Lisa was incredibly thorough, warm, organised, and professional throughout. She was honest and straightforward, yet never pushy, which immediately put us at ease. Lisa confidently told us they would sell the house quickly — and she was absolutely right, as it sold within just three days!
Throughout the entire process, Douglas Allen kept us fully informed at every stage. Tanya then took over the sale progression, and she too was exceptional. Tanya was professional, attentive, thorough, and genuinely lovely to deal with. She ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish and always kept us updated, making what could have been a stressful process feel seamless.
Both Lisa and Tanya were absolutely fantastic, and I cannot praise them highly enough. I would wholeheartedly recommend Douglas Allen to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. In fact, I almost feel sad that I no longer have a reason to speak with these two wonderful ladies!

Our experience with Douglass Allen was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. When selling our house, the property was not put on the market for three weeks and was not listed on Rightmove in a timely manner, causing unnecessary delay from the outset.

We were not kept informed of interest in our property at any point, and communication throughout the process was shockingly poor. On one occasion, we specifically asked for a viewing to be cancelled, yet this was not done and a viewer turned up at our home unexpectedly, which was completely unacceptable.

The member of staff handling our sale was off work for weeks, and during that time we were left completely in the dark with no proactive updates or handover. When I eventually called to chase an update, I spoke to someone who was extremely rude and unhelpful, which only added to the frustration.

To make matters worse, keys were released to the buyers before we had confirmed that we had vacated the property, resulting in them turning up before we had even left. This was a serious breach of professionalism and caused significant stress.

Overall, the lack of communication, poor organisation, and disregard for basic procedures made this a very upsetting experience. I would not recommend Douglass Allen based on our experience.

Michelle Idugboe from Chadwell Heath branch of Douglas Allen was great to meet and extremely kind and professional approach. I highly recommend her if you are looking to sell or buy a property.

We purchased a house through Douglas Allen and although solicitors and the legal process made it extremely stressful, the team at Douglas Allen were brilliant. It started with Ann-Marie making sure we visited ‘our house’ and finished with the indomitable Dawn going over and beyond to make sure we made the correct decision and was on-hand with any help or requests. We felt comfortable and reassured in their hands. Dawn is completely professional in her role backed up by the others in the office.
