Dulux Decorator Centre Reviews 

Hi, i’m not happy that they wont take a return of an unopened unused role of wallpaper. I’ve spoken to Galerie they have told me to come back to Dulux!
I can’t understand why you can’t take back the extra role which I only took as a precaution.
Not happy.

However when I rang customer services at Dulux they sorted out my issue to my satisfaction via their customer services. Now that’s a great result.

Bought paint and filler from Yeovil branch. Filler was literally twice the price of Screwfix for exactly the same product. Absolutely no discount. Probably because my missus went on her own this time. Last time was offered a discount without asking but we went together. Mark clearly targets single females to boost his sales figures. Well done Mark enjoy your bonus and congratulate yourself on loosing a long term regular customer.

Doing more and more decorating work now and moving away from heavy construction. . Mike and Chris have been very helpful with advice and customer support. Would recommend.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. I was told that it’s not possible to return or refund anything unless the manager is physically at work, which is completely unreasonable. I even had to travel 5 miles only to be told this in person, wasting my time and fuel.
On top of that, the so-called “discounts for small traders” are absolutely misleading. You can easily get Dulux Trade products cheaper from other retailers, so the discount claims feel fake and pointless. Overall, very poor service and not customer-friendly at all.

Went into Herald Way, Coventry today trying to get a colour-match from a tiny slither of paint and the lady at the desk was very helpful and patient, even though it was clear I had absolutely no idea what I was talking about.

Managed to get the colour I wanted at a great price, can recommend this branch.

I would like to congratulate the staff at The Dulux Decorator Centre Milton, Cambridge branch on their fantastic Customer Service. On every visit ( and there have been many) the advice and service has been outstanding - and it starts at the top with Sarah. Any problems are promptly dealt with and nothing is too much trouble. They are all a credit to the Company. Working in the Customer service industry myself it was a pleasure using this branch and I can't recommend them highly enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I used the Dulux Decorator Centre in Basildon and I can't rate them high enough. From walking through the door to leaving they were all friendly, helpful and offered great advice. Went there a few times before finalising our purchase and every visit was the same.

The staff there are a credit to Dulux

Went to them (Aberdeen) as it was on my way to work. I asked for easy care and kitchen. They said they don’t do them and said diamond Matt tinted and diamond eggshell tint was there better alternatives. I said okay and they mixed the colours. Even though the colours are off the shelf in the likes of B&Q. B&Q cost for 3x2.5 is around £85. These sharks charged me nearly £150; wasn’t made aware of the big difference in cost until I was at the till. Never again will I use them. Can’t even return them and go to B&Q instead as they’ve mixed the paint. Crazy how a deluxe shop don’t have easycare and kitchen and pre mixed yet 3rd parties do.

A terrible experience I had a few weeks ago. In March, I bought a Purdy extension pole there, which I used once right after purchase. The next time I used it was a few days ago, and that day it broke — it started collapsing, and I couldn’t paint with it. I took it back to the store, and the lady at the checkout told me she wouldn’t accept it because it was dirty and used. I replied that I don’t buy tools to collect them but to work with them, so it’s normal that it has some paint spots on it. Besides, it wasn’t a Wickes pole, it was Purdy — so I would expect to be able to use it more than twice (especially since I’ve had a painting pole from Wickes for years and it still works).

I felt outraged by the cashier’s behaviour and started arguing with her, saying it was a joke. After a moment, she went to speak with the manager, and when she came back, she repeated the same thing — that they wouldn’t take it back (the manager didn’t even bother to come out). I called customer service, and the lady at the help desk said they absolutely should accept it and send it back to the manufacturer. I asked her to call the store and explain that to the manager. Only after she called did a man come out, who simply took the pole, filled in a form, and took it away — I didn’t even get an apology for the way I was treated.

I’d like to add that I’m a trade customer and recently opened an account there to shop regularly. After this situation, I will definitely never set foot in that store again. I’ve opened an account with Brewers and that’s where I’ll be spending my money from now on.

The store is located in London (Feltham). I do not recommend this place!

Never again didn't scan colour sample gave me completely wrong colour.customer service sent me a limited voucher which was half useless even though they where provided proof of purchase and also had to buy more paint. Worst company ever dealt with!!!!

Terrible experience.

The paint I ordered is a completely different colour to the tester pot.

I sent photos to the store that delivered the order and this was their response:

‘I can see the issue. To be totally honest with you I don't have the answer to why it seems so different. I have checked the tinting process and that's correct. My only suggestion is to give our technical team a call.”

And that is the end of their help!!

Won’t be using Dulux Decorator Centre again!

Ten months ago I bought a 2.5 Lt tin of Dulux WeatherShield Undercoat for £67. This week I bought the same for £96, a 44% price hike. Disgraceful price gouging.

Dawn at the Milton Cambridge Dulux decorating centre was superb. She went with our flow when we were picking multiple paints for different room. Just brilliant customer service!

I ordered 4 paint samples yesterday 22/05/2025. I ordered the free strips/swatches instead of the 250ml sample bottles. Once I put in my details an “order confirmed” screen popped up on my computer. I wish I had taken a screenshot of it because I never received an order confirmation email. I contacted customer service this morning and they said that if I never received an email that means the order wasn’t completed.

“Ok, no problem, I’ll just order the swatches again” I thought. I spent around half an hour browsing the website trying to find the option for those swatches and couldn’t find them anywhere. I tried using my phone and a different PC and nothing. The only samples that I can now access are the 250ml bottles which I don’t want and it’s not showing all the colours that I ordered yesterday. I just want to be able to order the swatches that I ordered yesterday. I’m just baffled at how the website could have gone under such a radical change in less than 12 hours.

The website also takes around 5 minutes to load once you click on something and the general experience of using the website is frustrating and confusing.

I visited the Dulux Decorator Centres in High Wycombe and Hemel Hempstead recently and was very impressed with the service received. There was an instant and friendly 'welcome', great advice, a positive and sunny attitude and great products in the Heritage range. As a shopping experience, it is very rare to find such helpful, friendly and well-trained staff. Well done!!

Went into the Southport branch with my wife to pick a colour for the lounge walls. Hayley & Scott were excellent and helped us co-ordinate our fabrics into a colour scheme using the iPad. We chose the Heritage velvet Matt & Heritage eggshell which are absolutely stunning together. I couldn't be happier with the knowledge and service they offer, much better than some other local centres I've been to. Fantastic, keep it up and I will return soon for my dining room paint.

Not very happy… placed an order and they have refunded with not even an explanation of why…

Will shop elsewhere from now on.

After few days delay , Jack from Stirling store have sorted my order in good manners. Highly recommend him if anyone has any issues he’s happy to help .

I went to the Preston branch for paint. Not being a professional decorator I needed a bit of advice regarding its application. The young woman who served me was able to talk me through the products and suggest options. She was in no way forcing a sale just friendly and helpful. This is how to run a business. Now this was not simply a one off as I have been on other occasions and had a similar result. Probably the nicest staff in any store I've been in. They know their stuff! Needless to say its now my go to shop for paint etc! ( I am not connected to the store or staff in any way)
