Disappointing Customer Service and Product Issues
I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Dyson’s customer service. Despite multiple attempts to reach them via phone and email, I received no response. I even visited their store in person, where the staff acknowledged the issue with my vacuum and assured me that they would coordinate with the company to arrange a shipment for repairs. However, after that, I never received any follow-up emails or phone calls.
Additionally, the vacuum cleaner was still under warranty, but the motor developed a problem. Overall, I’m very frustrated with the lack of support and the product issues. I hope Dyson can improve their customer service in the future.
Dyson is a Failure and Fraud
Ordered a Dyson product 3 months ago and still have not received it. No answers after 5 calls to Dyson Canada customer service that is located in the The Philippines. Can't speak to any decision-making leader in Canada. According to the latest call today, my payment was not accepted and have to reorder. But no refund of my original payment. How can I place another order when my first was never even processed and I do not have a refund as yet? Dyson promises an epic experience. It's an epic failure and a fraud. They may portray being a high-end product. But it's hit or miss. Never by a Dyson !! If there was a -10 rating, I would rate it so. My call just got disconnected while awaiting to speak to a Supervisor that can provide answers. Companies like this have to be held accountable !!
I bought the Dyson V8™ (Silver/Nickel)…
I bought the Dyson V8™ (Silver/Nickel) cordless vacuum in July. It stopped working by November, and it’s now January 16. I’ve spent significant time with a Dyson representative and manager who promised a different courier and express delivery for a replacement, but that didn’t happen. They say they can send me a new unit if I mail mine in, but they still can’t locate my address. So 3 months later I still have not been able to use my vacuum.
I also purchased the Dyson hair dryer, which lasted only about a year and a half and didn’t perform well, especially considering the price. Overall, I am very disappointed with the products and customer service and would not buy from Dyson again.
And don’t buy from Best Buy cause they will not help you either. Has to break within 30 days. So I’m out $500. Worst companies ever!
Terrible customer service
Unfortunately, I received very poor service recently. I attempted to purchase the latest Airwrap ($895). The website offered a 10% discount if I provided my contact information, and I received the discount code via text message. However, the message did not include an expiry date.
At the time, the model I wanted was out of stock. About two weeks later, it was restocked and I was notified, so I went back to complete my purchase. When I tried using the 10% discount code, it didn’t work.
I’ve reached out to Customer Service multiple times, and the conversation goes in circles with no resolution. I was told the 10% code was for my “next purchase,” and this was my next purchase — it would have been my first-ever online order from their website. Any other purchases I’ve made were in-store.
They can clearly see in their records that I’ve never ordered online before, so I don’t understand why they won’t honor the offer. For an $895 hair tool, I expected better support. I’m not paying full price after this experience, so I won’t be purchasing. Terrible service and a complete waste of time trying to resolve this through their customer support team.
Oh my god !
Oh my god !! The absolute absolute worst company to deal with. I am still chatting with them is now one hour and 45 minutes just to get a replacement hose. Additionally, they want to charge me for shipping. They should be covering this hose and shipping at this rate an hour and 45 minutes of my time talking to two different chat agents who don’t respond at all additionally, the agent despite me sending numerous photos and even typing out the model number and the issue for him various times then was trying to place an order for a completely different part for a completely different model. Do they not read these chats? What are they doing? Can they just pay attention to one chat at a time?
You order on boxing day
You order on boxing day, they wait until the item has passed when its supposed to arrive, to tell you theres a problem... 4 days after you called them to say theres a problem because it has not shipped. you end up having to cancel the order and lose the discount it was on on boxing day... I will never ever order from dyson again.

Ordered a Dyson Big Ball vacuum at the beginning of December. I watched as the delivery criss crossed the country (even though I was an hour away from where it originated). They could not seem to deliver it even after 2 weeks. The courier returned to sender (Dyson). So, after more than 10 hours with Dyson customer service, they still have not issued a refund. They said it would take another 4 weeks to process. How is this possible?????. I might see a refund in February for an item I never received that should have arrived at the beginning of December. NEVER BUY A DYSON!!!

I bought a dyson V8 6 month ago when battery died. Contacted Dyson customer service who told me battery is not a warranty item and tried to sell me a new battery for 150.00 Can$.

I called their sales department, pretending to buy a new battery. I asked if they have stock and if I can get one quickly, No problem, we have plenty in stock, was the answer. Nice people these dyson guys, eh.
New generation is terrible
New generation of Dyson products just does not last. The design of the filter does not make sense. They clog easily and cleaning is much harder. The filter needs to be changed way more often than the older version. I use the vacuum regularly. I had version 8, lasted 8 years, and version 14 lasted one year, and then I had to replace most parts. The plastic breaks so easily. I would not buy a new one again. Not worth fragment of the cost.

I purchased a brand-new Dyson Airwrap and was shocked to discover the unit had clearly been opened and used: damaged packaging, scratched attachments, and signs of prior use. I provided Dyson photos and proof.
Dyson acknowledged the issue and approved an exchange, but refused to expedite anything — even though this was their fulfillment mistake. Their “solution” was making me wait around 15 days for a replacement. That’s completely unreasonable for a premium-priced product.
The frontline rep was empathetic and tried to help, but Dyson’s policies are rigid and customer-hostile. Instead of taking accountability, they made the process slow, stressful, and dismissive of the situation — especially frustrating since this purchase was tied to my gender-affirming self-care journey.
I ended up requesting a refund and taking my business elsewhere. For a company selling “luxury” products, Dyson absolutely failed to meet even basic standards of quality control and customer care.
If you expect new to actually mean new — and expect a company to correct its mistakes reasonably — be very cautious buying directly from Dyson.

The Dyson warranty program is a scam.
The Dyson warranty program is not functional and is very frustrating. A broken part on my vacuum has not been resolved after 8 months of trying by email and phone to get a replacement part. They don't respond to emails and make the phone process so complex that it's not worthwhile. This will be the first and last Dyson that I purchase.

I would give zero stars if I could. It was supposed to be a Christmas present for a important person. However, Dyson cancelled it for me without asking me. I didn't get a shipping confirmation after made $670 payment after three weeks. So I called customer service twice, and they kept telling me it would be shipped soon. And then they suddenly cancelled the order. The customer service told me that because the payment didn't go through. They said they could give me a new Boxing Day deal for reordering. During the reordering process, the phone got cut off. Then they told me that it was wrong, and they could offer another price. Customer service asked me to reorder the next day. However, when I called the next day, they told me I had agreed to the original price, which I hadn’t. I also asked my bank why the purchase didn't go through. The bank agent told me the payment had been approved. Overall, Dyson's customer service is a joke. they put me on hold for over 1 hour many times and they lied to me, Very unprofessional.
Abysmal product and worse service
I see I'm not the only one disgusted with Dyson's products and "customer care" which is an oxymoron. Almost two years ago I bought a Dyson Gen5Detect which broke after several months. Despite my describing the problem they sent me a new battery which did nothing. Eventually they replaced the whole vacuum but the head broke almost immediately. They then claimed to have sent me another new vacuum, but it never arrived. When I panned their service in the Customer Satisfaction Survey they contacted me to say they pride themselves on customer service - that's a joke. By this time the part was no longer made so they promised to send a newer model, that was 8 months ago. Calling their service line is an exercise in frustration since it's in India and they have a script that is guaranteed to keep you on line for an hour, after which they've put you on hold numerous times, only to find that nothing can be done. If you're thinkiing of buying a Dyson, put your money in a pile and burn it, at least you'll get some warmth for a few seconds.
I would expect better from a big company…
What an appalling excuse for “customer service” Dyson have. From being told my payment isn’t processed because it is an issue with my financial institution to being told that the payment will process once the order is ready to ship. Not to mention I was told my account didn’t exist when I was literally logged into it staring at my order on the screen. The issue wasn’t entirely resolved but I was tired of repeating myself and having to provide the exact same information that I had given 5 minutes prior. I was told to just wait for my order, which I will some more. But if I’m not provided with updates on shipping within the next few days then I’ll be cancelling. There is absolutely no way I want to have to go through that level of poor customer service again. Absolutely terrible service, stay far away!!

Can we do negative rating? I just spent 40 minutes going nowhere with a customer service rep to not be able to order a product because they have a bug in their checkout process that hasnt been solved in a week although we're in the middle of black Friday...
It takes ages to get an answer and even if you get one, it will just be a waste of time as you won't get what you ask for in the end.

I purchased a Dyson hair dryer which was quite expensive at 800$. Within 6 months it started flashing it was not working. I was told to send it for repairs, which I did. They sent it back to me still broken! With no explanation! What a waste of time.
Worst customer experience – lost package, denied help, and no accountability
I have had the most frustrating experience with Dyson and I will never order from them again.
I never received my original order or the replacement order. Both packages were marked as “delivered,” but I did not receive anything. I provided Dyson with all the information I had, including a police report, and asked them to look into the issue seriously.
Instead of helping, Dyson kept repeating the same script that Purolator showed a “proof of delivery.” The signatures on the POD do not match mine, and I clearly told them that, but they refused to investigate further. They denied a refund, denied another replacement, and basically blamed me for a delivery failure that was completely outside my control.
I expected a premium company like Dyson to stand behind their customers, but they were unwilling to take any responsibility or even escalate the case properly. Their customer service is slow, unhelpful, and extremely disappointing.
After this experience, I will never purchase from Dyson again.
If your package goes missing, don’t expect Dyson to support you. You’re on your own.
