I won't say what time and day but lets just say the battery installer in particular went above and beyond 'out of hours'! Nathan too in the office was excellent and supported throughout. I had an enquiry for ways to be more energy efficient and save on my bills, so I went with EEC, and was put through to Craig Ball. Firstly, EEC are a reputable company with over 30 years experience in the energy sector. Secondly and more importantly, Craig was exceptional in his customer service delivery. He was able to fully explain which energy saving methods would best suit our needs. He provided costs for all options, and very carefully explained the breakdown and all the technical parts. A really big plus with Craig, is that he doesn’t hard-sell and end up confusing customers with subject-specific terminology. That was such a big plus, as Craig will ensure you are fully aware of what the products offer, and will very-professionally allow you to make your own decisions, whilst highlighting benefits in a non-forceful and professional manner. My biggest issue with a lot of these energy companies is, you’ll leave the conversation not really having any real understanding of what the product does, how much you can save, and a clear break Down of the pros and cons, based on your situation. I believe Craig has worked with EEC for over 15 years, and it clearly shows. He has most likely seen all types of customers, and therefore doesn’t waste time deploying hard-sell tactics to blindside customers. Based on my experience with Craig, EEC come highly recommended and I would most definitely endorse Craig as someone to help and guide a new customer along their energy saving journey.

The worst company I have ever dealt with for customer service.
On 12th July 2017, EEC Solar/Home Improvements did the following work: Retro fit Solar Edge Inverter and Modbus. at a cost of £5200. The workmanship was guaranteed for a total of ten years.
However, I had the following problems:
The system failed on the 22nd January 2021. After numerous phone calls and emails there was no sign of EEC Solar sending someone to look at the system. However, after a terrible review on Trustpilot this seemed to jolt EEC Solar into action, and I was contacted by the Director Jamie Shevellin and was assured the system would be looked at as soon as possible. A technician duly arrived in April 2021, he stated he could not fix the problem as it was a problem on the roof and required scaffolding to access. There then followed further discussion with Mr Shevellin and in May 2021 two EEC Solar technicians arrived. They arrived 3 hours later than the agreed time and smelt of alcohol. They stated that as the inverter was not connected to the internet (I had changed routers between the system crashing and this date) they could not assess where the problem was, and someone would have to attend with a laptop to plug into the inverter. I researched the internet after they left and found instructions how to connect the inverter to the internet and did it within ten minutes. I advised EEC Solar and Mr Shevellin accordingly re their poor work. Finally, in June 2021 an independent technician from DC Energy attended and stated it was a poor connection on the inverter. He did not have the correct connection but fashioned one that allowed the system to work. In his words it was a bit of a bodge but got the system up and running.
Perhaps not surprisingly the system failed again on the 24th March 2022. I emailed and called Solar Edge regularly to begin with and as experienced in 2021 I was fobbed off with excuses as to why they were unable to send anyone to fix the problem.
By mid-summer I had still not received any potential date to fix my solar problems, costing me £15 to £20 in feed in tariff and extra cost for my electricity usually provided by the system itself. I therefore engaged a local Installer to assess and to fix the issues. He attended my address on two occasions, the first in June 2022 (4 days after contacting him – I still had not heard from EEC Solar after some 2 months had passed) and the second on the 8th July 2022. The first visit he replaced the K&N DC Isolator, the DC cable and all the MC4 connectors to the inverter. This unfortunately did not remedy the issue and for the second visit he attended with a colleague and scaffolding tower and had to carry out onsite fault finding and rectification on existing SolarEdge system. Find continuity issue with string cables. Remove unnecessary cabling left in place by EEC Solar. Replace all site made MC4 connectors. Retest string cables all clear. Re-Pair optimisers to inverter and find issue with 1 x P300 optimiser. Use customer supplied replacement. Test all ok, update monitoring platform to suit new optimiser.
I paid the independent electrician £1231.20 to fix the shoddy workmanship and get my system running again.
I then tried to sue EEC Solar – but any civil hearing I later found out is held at the court nearest to the company and not the plaintiff – ie I would have to go to Liverpool to bring my case rather than have it heard in Cornwall – I was not willing to invest more time and money into this terrible company. After dealing with the Ombudsman I eventually accepted £300 in 2023 as this was my only viable option by now and I was totally fed up with dealing with the worst company I have had the misfortune to come into contact with.
2 months to respond to the review pretty much sums them up - pants.

We acknowledge the delay in dispatching an engineer to investigate your concerns. However, it's important to note that another company was appointed to assess the fault before we had the opportunity to investigate it thoroughly. Since installation of your Solar Edge Optimisers in 2017, there had been no previous issues. Subsequently, you proceeded with rectification works based on a report provided by a competitor and invoiced EEC after the completion of the work.
We would not normally settle an invoice based on a competitor's report, as it may contain self-validating information with additional work suggested. Under consumer law and our warranty policies, we are obligated to be given the opportunity to investigate any faults. Unfortunately, EEC was not afforded this opportunity. Had we discovered any fault arising from our workmanship, it would have been covered under our insurance backed warranties.
In an attempt to reconcile the situation, EEC agreed to reimburse the cost of a call-out fee, equivalent to what we would have charged for an investigation. We understand that this gesture was not accepted by you. Subsequently, complaints were filed with both the insurance company and The Ombudsman. Upon presenting the case from both sides, both the insurance company and The Ombudsman endorsed our offer as a resolution, which was accepted and duly paid to you.
Regarding the small claim proceedings, it's our understanding that the courts typically hold hearings at the location nearest to the complainant, not necessarily the defendant.
We sincerely apologise for any shortcomings in our service and assure you that any future concerns will be addressed promptly.

AVOID EEC SOURCE HEAT COMPANY
I have been a customer of EEC Source heating since 2019 after they installed an air source heating system. I contacted them in October 2023 as my heating appears to have a problem and if an engineer could come out to carry out a maintenance check (which was not due until Feb 24). I have sent numerous emails, made numerous calls since October and keep getting told that my request has been sent to the bookings department. It is now the 2nd of February 2024 and I am still waiting for a response to resolve my heating problem. I would not recommend this company what so ever they do not care that you have problems with their system and their customer service is so poor! It has been very distressing and I have had to buy additional heaters for each room to make the house more comfortable which is costing more money.

Glad I took a decision to go with EEC for heatpump installation for 2 of my new build properties. They were next to each other and wanted it fitted at the earliest. Nathan @ EEC was my single point contact right from the beginning, and within 3 weeks I got an appointment for both installs and both installation took 3 days! both house heats up great! installer perhaps went out of way to connect my underfloor heating with its own sperate control, which I really appreciated. Even though their lead time for install is more than 3 weeks currently, since I was on their fit ASAP waiting list, luckily I got early cancellation. Professional company and Hassel free. Highly recommend. I will use them again in future.

Great experience after some delays in getting a replacement quote
We bought a house that had solar panels and a battery system already installed from EEC. We easily moved the warranty over to my name after we moved in. We experienced very bad storm damage to our panels in 2022 (3 panels flipped over and almost fell off the roof) and we phoned up EEC straight away telling them about the panels hanging from our roof.
They quickly sent out roofers who flipped the panels back over and patched some holes in the roof. We then tried to get a quote to sent over to our insurance company to get the repairs done (2 broken panels and torn cables) and I eventually gave up as we were not getting any response from EEC after plenty of emails to them.
We left it for over a year and then resumed trying to get a quote and Tim reached out to us apologising for the delay and quickly got things moving. We had a quote drafted up, sent to our insurance company and the scaffolding went up very quickly. We then had the new panels installed with a new mounting system which looks much more secure than the previous installation.
The scaffolding has come down today and we are very happy with Tim's contact with us throughout this whole process. Thanks again Tim!
