Very disappointed with the delivery service. The gas is consistently delivered late and rarely arrives when promised. We rely on having our gas delivered on time, and the repeated delays are extremely inconvenient. The company needs to improve its reliability and communication with customers.

If I could give ZERO stars or BELOW, this would sum up Elgas's performance (as poor as it is!). They constantly make up excuses, are wholly unreliable.

9 calls to their '24/7' call center which is pretty much a glorified answering machine service. They don't take ANY accountability for any calls they receive. Average wait time? 25 MINUTES.

When I found their local depot and asked what was going on, I was given some really LAME excuses about management issues, no drivers, drivers being fired, gas supplies and that they would make sure to get back to me. Well, that didn't happen until the NEXT day.

Apparently the drivers have no access to the delivery schedule system? How do they plan their days and delivery routes? Sounds like BS to me.

It took TWO WEEKS for these numbskulls to get around to delivering my gas.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND FINDING A BETTER PROVIDER, BECAUSE THIS LOT ARE THE WORST, EVER. THE <2.0 SCORE SAYS IT ALL.

UPDATE: 18/09/2026 - Still no contact with ELGAS. TERRIBLE!

The company’s pricing was not sufficiently transparent, and some service fees were not clearly disclosed before the service was arranged. Additional charges became apparent only after the transaction, making it difficult to understand the total cost in advance. Customers should receive a clear, itemised explanation of all applicable fees before committing to the service. Furthermore, when the unused gas bottles were returned, we received no compensation or refund for the full bottles we had already paid for, which was particularly frustrating and seemed unfair.

The customer service response to my concerns was also unsatisfactory. When I requested clarification about the charges and asked about compensation for the returned full bottles, the representatives I dealt with provided limited assistance and communicated in a dismissive manner. Rather than addressing the pricing questions directly or offering a clear resolution, they did not adequately explain the basis for the fees, the lack of compensation, or outline practical next steps.

What an absolute Pompous and Arrogant Business. Do better or find another job where you have no interaction with Humans!

Awful customer service, they made a mess setting up my account over the phone, didn't call back when they said they would. Didn't explain the pricing structure and lied and said they had. Didn't apply a discount I should have received. I made a complaint and asked to speak to a manager, they said someone would call me back and nobody did. I will take my business elsewhere. Avoid this company!

Elgas are horrible to be with I will be changing gas companies , they swapped my gas bottle that was 1/4 full and no compensation, customer service never knows what's happening and aren't helpful , EXPENSIVE ASF!!!! keep upping the price but never goes down with gas prices

Elgas have been charging me 3x the going rate for LPG. Disgusting business.

Waiting up to two weeks for delivery after order of bottled gas. Customer service is non existent, asking you to chase up the delivery. Used to be a good company, not anymore. Several issues over the past 3 years means I'm taking my business elsewhere. AVOID, especially Macedon Ranges Elgas.

I’d give them 0 if there was such a selection and rename them Hellgas. Why didn’t I look at the reviews first! 😭 they have been shocking. Appalling customer service- when I had the gas replaced the technician mis-threaded the gas line to the bottle and created a gas leak. I called them to get someone to come fix it and they said it had nothing to do with their workmanship- must be old age- despite the house being less than 5 years old and it happening the very same hour they changed the gas. They made me pay to get it fixed and now won’t refill the gas until I have a certificate to say there is no gas leak. That happened last October which would mean I need to pay for another plumber to certify. And they made me pay for 2 bottles in advance when I rang to order and then told me I could not order due to the non existent gas leak. They now say they will refund me but heaven knows when! I am closing my account. Highly recommend you DO NOT GO WITH HELLGAS.

Repeatedly hopeless service. Been a customer for 20+ years. Always paid our account promptly. But now have to beg for gas. And then the promised delivery is not made. Endless, pointless calls to the useless call centre that get me nowhere. Elgas is a gas delivery company. That’s all they need to do. But they can’t do it. Surely it can’t be this hard.

Elgas gave us no service in 2025. Do not put up with it. We have moved to Origin. Much better service

Constant issue with being on hold anything up to half an hour on the phone to order a new cylinder. They called me to tell me the hose from one of the cylinders was leaking and they would not be able to deliver again until it was fixed - two weeks after my delivery, and no they did not turn the bottle off! Have had half a dozen cylinders delivered, approx, since they took over from ongas, (with whom I never had a single problem) with this lot every cylinder replacement has been a drama, usually late, or not sending invoices on time, meaning if you don't pay the invoice you have yet to receive, they won't deliver another!!!!! Clown company.

Have been trying to get this joke of a company to remove gas bottles from my old house for 7 months. Have complained, emailed, phoned and still nothing. Whatever you do don’t get your gas from these idiots.

Terrible experience- would stay away from this company. Elgas has delivered our lpg bottles multiple times, this time the delivery person decided we had too poor access for the gas bottle to be delivered (despite it being the same house). Our money was taken for the order but no one called to let us know that it wasn’t going to be delivered.
It has taken multiple calls (and countless hours) to figure out what was happening with our order- nothing. Poor customer service and communication with lack of accountability or sensibility from the numerous people we encountered. We are two days away from Christmas with no gas despite placing an order 3 weeks ago.
The best we got is ‘we understand this is unfortunate but we can’t deliver’

Again let down by this company, no call to let me know they arrived. As I have a disability the driver left our gas bottle at entry gates of our property as the call centre now claim that there drives don't have phones on them because it is Elgas policy. What BS, that in 2025 a driver doesn't carry a phones. I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING LIED TOO. SO IF YOU WANT A COMPANY THAT LET'S YOU DOWN ELGAS IS WHO YOU CHOSE.
AS I WITH A DISABILITY WAS LEFT TO TRY AND BRING IT UP TO OUR HOUSE NEARLY 50 METRES AWAY AND THEN CONNECT. THIS ALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THE SERVICE WHICH WE PAID FOR. No offer of a discount just a pathetic apologise of lies. We will not recommend this company due to not being truthful and transparent and providing the service we paid for.

Probably the most dishonest business in the Gold Coast, and perhaps all of Queensland. We have had gas leaking out of our bottles. When the bottles were replaced, Elgas assured me there was no leak detected. However, our bill went from being every few months to every few weeks. I insisted something has to be wrong, and they said no. I then noticed with EVERY SINGLE bill, my rate went up! This has been over the 4 ore more years I have been with Elgas. Every single bill had an increased rate. I did not realise they increase their fee with every single delivery. When I changed to a new provider, they said it was as clear as daylight that our regulator was leaking and probably had been for some time and put our home at risk. Of course Elgas said it wasn't so they could just keep billing us more, and more frequently. Incredible dishonest company. Of course, Elgas's reply to me when I advised of the above, was that they accept no responsibility. Exactly what I expected from this shonky company.

I'm joining the avalanche of complaints about Elgas. I also have been with them for 23 years. I live on a farm which has 2 wheel drive access on a dirt track.
Received a message that the next delivery would be made on the 1st November. Didn't arrive. 12th November I rang, only to be told they will not deliver to my property anymore and that my account had been cancelled! NO notification. You have to be kidding. This is a major company.

I was a relatively high use customer of ELGAS for 18 years only to find out that the price I had been paying just under $20 extra per bottle than was their standard price so I contacted them and asked way this was and got the worst response from any company I have ever had. Rude and arrogant horrible litter man blasting me because apparently I had ok'ed them to charge such overpriced gas for this long. For the first time ever on the phone I swore at a 'customer service' person and hung up on them. Unbelievable! I was shaking. Don't let them bait you in with a free start up special as you will definitely be paying them back big time in the future for it. Definitely avoid this company if you are able. With Rockgas now. They said that they hear these sorts complaints about ELGAS all the time.

I have been with Elgas for over 20 years, the last few years it has been a struggle with everything, delivery, price increases, no way to contact them, etc. It is always impossible for talk to somebody at Elgas. Usually you get redirected to the phone center where they only note down that you have called. I asked for somebody to call me back as it is easier to discuss any issues directly. But no, instead of phone call, more than two weeks later I get an email, that they can do nothing. I replied to them that they are literally asking me to change supplier, no reply at all.
Not sure how they can always have busy period - does not this mean that they need some more customer service?
I changed the supplier (I was able to talk to a knowledgeable person, who answered all my questions, no problems, just solutions as you would expect from customer service). Now I have to fight to get the credit from Elgas for the reminder period of the rental charge.

Avoid ELGAS, high prices, bad customer service, late deliveries

Elgas after 8 years of filling bottles refused to fill the bottles. They have been empty as they refused to fill em. They send an invoice for a yearly rental. Guess what you should take them as u refuse to fill them. There is no new regulations they just refuse to fill them.
