I am so grateful that I found focusmate. Cuz one months ago I found it was so hard to start preparing for my exam and now I already finished over 60 sessions which means a lot to me. It helped me build up my confidence, help me visualised my time. I highly recommend it if you have ADHD or difficulty managing time!

I've been using Focusmate since 2023, both the free and paid versions, and it is such a helpful resource.

When I'm procrastinating and just can't get myself going or when I'm doing a task that I know is not going to be enjoyable even after I get started, the folks on Focusmate help.

I usually use it for reading, studying, writing, and creating presentations, but I just wrapped up a session during which I cleaned my oven (I was inspired by a previous session when my partner cleaned her apartment while I was studying).

Love meeting people from all around the world, even briefly. The global element is what makes the platform so reliable, too. (It's always someone's productive time somewhere!)

The platform can't control people who flake, but very few do in my experience, and when they do Focusmate finds you another partner quickly.

Just saved my routine and stopped my procrastination once and for all. Besides, I can meet new people and practice my english. I hardly recommend it!

I've used it on and off for years, especially when I need to get myself out of a rut with my creative projects or life admin that I just keep putting off. I've always been met with wonderful people across the world, on a platform that makes it really simple to connect and get work done.

Focusmate is an absolute game changer. The day I found it I knocked out so many things I was avoiding for so long. It's an incredible mind hack to whip myself into shape. It works so well. I'm beyond grateful to be giving them money every month because it's so worth every penny. I tried out a couple different body doubling sites before landing on this one and WOW it's everything I've ever needed plus an incredible backend team. I don't read 99% of my emails but I do occasionally read one from FocusMate because I have such positive associations with them and they've helped me so much - plus their emails are pretty funny. I love being able to log on anytime and within 15minutes be getting work done. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Reading back on this review I sound like I was paid to write this but NO - 1000% works really well. Simple. Powerful. Effective.

Don't waste any more time not getting sh*t done.

Focusmate has been a game-changer for my bar prep. The focus and accountability have made studying far more effective, and receiving a scholarship made this support possible when I needed it most. I know I’ll continue using Focusmate throughout my legal career. Highly recommend for law students, bar takers, and attorneys.

Focusmate is one of those tools that benefits everyone, not just neurodivergent individuals! The reason I say it's a tool everyone can use is because while many of its users are neurodivergent, it's something that a neurotypical individual who works remotely or from home can use to help bring some vivacity to the isolating nature of their routine, through having 'virtual' coworkers, or if you just want company as you clean, do a household chore like feeding a pet, decluttering, or packing, or follow through with executing healthier habits that help you live more intentionally such as reading, gardening, or yoga.

As a woman living unmedicated with ADHD, Focusmate has been an incredible coworking space I have used over 3000 times over the past 3 years (I started using it in the fall of 2022) to get things done. Focusmate helped me immensely as I pursued my Master's degree, and the community of people I have worked alongside helped me learn how to give myself true grace, and truly have self-compassion, and ultimately, nurture my self-love.

I'm very disappointed and very frustrated that I haven't found this sooner! I just found out about it now as a 30-year old. If I would've known about this when I was still studying, it would've helped me out so much!
There is something magical happening when I'm working with a stranger, there is just the right amount of pressure for me. I've been searching for the perfect "productivity hack" since I go to school and now I finally found it! I can't recommend it enough! I procrastinated on starting with this because it seemed so dangerous and weird to connect with a stranger, but I'm now over 50 sessions and didn't experience anything weird, everyone is very friendly and just ready to get things done!

This is absolutely brilliant. I've always found that I will do anything for someone else, but nothing for myself. So knowing I have an appointment ensures I get out if bed and stay out of bed. I do chores to the end and don't get distracted by Facebook or loss of focus.

For someone who can procrastinate HARD, this is a life and deadline saver. Absolutely no negative interactions so far, and for those who might feel camera or video shy, there are always options.

It's a great idea and the fact that you're speaking with someone does make you feel more focused on what you are trying to do. However, I've only used it 3 times and in all those times I found that the other person seems like they can't be asked to do this with me. I was hoping for a bit more enthusiasm but it actually made me feel more down after seeing their faces. I don't know why they bother using this if they can't be asked to speak with the other person. I think I would like to do something like this with friends instead. Some sort of interest in what the other person is working on would be nice. Maybe it's just in the UK. I will try to pair up with people from other countries to see what they're like.

I really enjoying use focusmate! Since day one my productivity go to the roof. I think this body doubling methods is really effective as it holds you accountable for other person.

If you can't sit down and work, you need this. I had undiagnosed ADHD for 25+ years. I always thought people functioned like the way I did - boy was I wrong. Middle school, high school, college - things were fine because they have a structure/system of accountability but in real life, you face consequences.

I had tried everything, and quite frankly, I was tired and went into the spiral of self-doubt: "maybe I'm just dumb" - then CHATGPT recommended focusmate. And everything changed. I can actually sit still and work now. Yeah, felt intimidating at first but I got used to body-doubling after a couple of sessions. Would highly highly recommend this.

While I'm a native American speaker who can write as well as the vast number, I find the langauge inkredibly⁵ suboptimal, espeshially on harmless emfasis and spelling, espeshially for learners like children and nonnatives struggling to learn our langauge.

It's so helpful to work with others everywhere and anywhere kolaboratively⁵. I appresiate and could not work as fast without all the Hippokratik hints I receive. I hope I'm returning the favor suffishiently in kind and that I'm not falling too far short of kalmunity⁵ hopes and burning needs; I know I kan be hard to work with on kritikal sprints given how divergent I sometimes get switching from prevention to emergensy⁵ and back again.

While I don't believe I have attention defisit, I do have breadth-first lantern or floodlight kuriosity⁵ akross a krushing number of topiks, and body doubling on Focusmate or in the real world helps konsentrate me into 70m+ of spotlight attention mode when I'm working, and I argue it kan help huge numbers of people who aren't in attention defisit but just have too much responsibility⁵ stay on task even when attention starts to switch, flit, or flag between priorities.

So many of the other members I fase use Focusmate for anything from kreative work to household chores, and along the way it forses me to deklare a konsentration and not switch, in the overwhelming mix of tasks I have, from one kritikal priority⁵ to another until each reaches some better definition of kompletely⁵ done.
I really appresiate this kalmunity⁵ and I'll keep trying to keep up and do my part.

Focusmate is more than a productivity tool. I first joined Focusmate during Covid, at a time when I was studying alone every day and struggling to stay motivated. I use focusmate for doing my accounting, for networking for a job, for cleaning house, for taking time to meditate. It's been a real game changer since working from home.

I love the supportive community on Focusmate. For tasks that I tend to procrastinate on, Focusmate makes all the difference. I find myself overcoming that "wall of awful" and just getting down to what needs doing. I'm so grateful this website exists!
