Fongo in a really inconsiderate company. Fongo loves to send out texts in the middle of the night disturbing people's rest time. Pathetic how we have gotten text messages between 1 am to 5 am night... Toon meer

I think they have a bunch of 16yr old kids doing their programming, while playing on their iPhones.

it is extremely difficult to get help if you run into any issues, stay away from Fango, other wise you'll regret it.

Customer support is non existent. I tried many times to contact Fongo. Only way was to initiate a customer support email. Response was that a customer service representative would be in contact with me. No one ever called. Based on a non response I initiated another email. By doing so my original support email was cancelled and rolled into a new support request and a new reference number was issued. Taking me back to square one. If they just called as per my request Fongo lost a new customer. Apparently there is no human contact.

I am no longer able to receive or send SMS messages. I could for three years and it just stopped. Says it needs to be activated by the provider and of course no answer. I’ve sent texts about my problem but still have not got anything resolved. It’s a terrible company to deal with and you never get to speak to a live person. I’m still waiting for them to activate messages for me.
Fongo not honoring grandstream warranty
I purchased a ht801 through fongo when getting their home phone service.
The ATA died within a few months and fongo refused to honor the 1 year warranty.
I reached out to what appeared to be the ceo who said they would investigate

I was looking for a reliable VOIP provider and I GOT SCAMMED BY FONGO
First you need to Pay $25 for Porting your own phone no.
And when I emailed I need help and assistance to install and some technical support to call me, they said,
“We don’t offer phone support, you have to email us…….”
And so I asked for the refund for the $25
I said nothing in your website says anything about “NO PHONE SUPPORT, YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN”.
So then ok, I accepted I just got scammed for $25.
Then I switched to Telus and had given FONGO to port my phone no.
Then Telus said FONGO REFUSES TO PORT IT, due to some address issues.
But there was no issues.
Unfortunately, now if anyone call my business no. It’s saying not in service.
And then FONGO said we cannot help you because your phone is no longer in service. And now I have no one to talk to, since FONGO is hiding and YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN,
YOU’RE SCREWED
I WILL NOW HAVE TO CALL GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES TO CRAXK DOWN ON THIS.
I THIS IS COSTING THOUSANDS OD DOLLARS, My store awning has my phone no. And customers will hear “Not in service” you cannot just change phone no. On signage, biz cards, store awnings.
So be FOREWARNED

I've been using both Fongo's home phone and internet for years. Although recently I did have major issues with my DSL connection so I made the switch to their cable service and so far it's been great even my home phone works better. Their customer service was friendly and patient as they helped me with my installation. I also believe with their lockdown pricing they can't be beat which is one of the main reasons I continue to use Fongo. I would of gave them 5 stars but their DSL connection sucks
Avoid Fongo
This is an honest customer review and I am not being paid by anyone as Fongo seems to think so. Avoid Fongo. I used their online website to port a landline and they have been trying to port a cell line. I told customer service the issue and it appears they dont read. Now they threaten me with failed port charges and non refund policies. WtF? Also be aware that they have NO live agents and you are left to automation and no answers.

I signed up and in just few hours started to get tons of garbage calls to my other real number (the app was installed on my real phone), I moved it to my spare phone and scum calls started on the spare (no sim or any other number).
My email which I signed to their service started to get spam too (this address never got any spam since it's not in use) STAY AWAY! the authorities should shut this company down.

Trying to find medical help considered "Excessive Use"
I was on the phone desperately trying to find doctors accepting new patient this morning when I received account suspension. "Your account was suspended due to a violation of Fongo's Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy for Fongo Mobile and Fongo World Edition. An excessively high volume of calls in a condensed period leads to carrier suspension (from other carriers), which we cannot reverse. Please avoid repeated calls to the same number in a short period, as this leads to carrier suspension. This is your one and final warning; we have unblocked your account for now."

Stay away from Fongo. Worst service I've ever had to deal with. No live customer service or any live people to help you out for that matter. Everything is done by text messages and you have to be an IP expert to deal with them. I did get a person one time out of many calls and he had the attitude they don't care and said he wouldn't blame me for stopping their service. That's their employee saying that WOW ! My service never worked at all and I tried to cancel but no one will get back to me. I've been scammed by this company. "STAY AWAY"
0/5: Account suspended without warning, getting inconsistent status updates from tech support on restoration.
My freephoneline.ca (Fongo) account got suspended at least a week ago without warning after 13 years of service. Since Fongo didn't respond in a timely manner to my initial complaint, I have decided to port my number for voip.ms and Fongo has been unhelpful with restoring my account so I can port my number out.
I received two different ticket replies at almost the same time this morning, one telling me that my account is in order, the other telling me that I need to set my registration timer to 3600s despite having been set to 3600s for several days already.
I have been told at least twice that "everything looks good and I can port out" but both times, I still get the "account suspended" error when trying to log into my account and I am unable to call in/out even though my ATA or soft-phone is registered. Incoming calls land on a dead line (no ringing indicator tone or "unavailable" message, just silence on a land/VoIP-line or an immediate hang-up calling from a cellphone) regardless of registration status. Out-going calls just don't get routed out, getting a fast-busy tone a few seconds after dialing.
Can't imagine a much worse experience with a phone provider than being over a week without service due to provider-side issues with tech support that has a 24+h turn-around time on what appears to be critical failures on their end: their support staff cannot even agree on my account's status, which gives me zero confidence that techs telling me "everything is in order" are accurate.
Had I known Fongo would make holding onto an FLP account this frustrating, I would have ported my number out before Fongo started charging monthly fees to one-time-fee clients.
Zero-star rating but I cannot click on fewer than one.
Since it looks like Fongo sometimes reads reviews, check tickets #1140154 (the one I opened when I found out I couldn't call in/out with my line anymore) and #114124. (The one I opened when I found out my account got suspended and decided to port out to avoid having to deal with Fongo ever again in the future.)
Update 2025-07-04: Fongo un-suspended my account on June 20, filed a port-in with voip.ms on June 23, voip.ms sent the port request to Fongo on June 26, still waiting for the port request to get completed or rejected.
