How and why are they still being allowed to get away with this scam .Its being going on for years .It's theft

You can find the address for this company that never redeemed my voucher on companies house! Maybe everyone who has been scammed should ring his doorbell! Maybe he will be kind enoigh to cook us all dinner :) What a scam!!!

Called to book but always goes to answerphone. Tried to book via website - but the website is not available (8/2/2026). Emailed the Voucherredemption email address supplied, on 4/2/2026 to book for 8/2/2026, but still no response and confirmed with restaurant that they had no booking - now 8/2/2026.

I received a gift voucher to the value of £50 issued by Gourmet Guide. The voucher has a unique reference number to be quoted for redemption on their website when making a restaurant reservation for any of the restaurants included in the scheme. The voucher value should then be transferred to the recipient’s chosen restaurant by GG as a contribution towards the payment for the meal. The redemption request has to be done at least 24hours prior to the reservation date. I followed the instructions on the voucher requesting the redemption online a week in advance, having checked that the restaurant is a part of the scheme. I have not been notified that the process has been completed, or that the voucher value has been transferred to the restaurant. The restaurant have confirmed to me that they have not received any communication regarding this from GG. I have called GG three times - there is a message service advising that vouchers can be bought and redeemed via their website and giving their email address. I emailed them twice asking if the voucher has been processed. I have not received an acknowledgement or reply. I have since read many reviews on Trustpilot and other review sites, and it seems that there are many other people with the same complaint from last year right up to this week. Nobody can reach the GG office by telephone and emails are being ignored.

My son bought me a voucher from The Gourmet Guide, which expires I'm March. I have tried to book a restaurant following instructions on the website. I filled in the form and submitted, but got no acknowledgement. The restaurant have my booking but nothing from Gourmet guide about the voucher redemption. I can't get through to anyone on the phone and they are not answering my emails.

This is a complete and utter scam! You have to book a table viva the Gourmet Guide website who are then meant to pay the restaurant on your behalf. Except they don't! There is no way to call them. You are directed to the website which has been stripped back to include no useful information. After googling an email and contacting them, we have had no response. We are left unable to use a £50 voucher. This has clearly been going on for years if you do some basic research online. Do not purchase any vouchers from this 'company'.

Scam or gone bust ……..unable to redeem voucher and zero response to email enquiries.

Do not purchase anything from Gourmet Guide.

Would have given 0 stars if possible. Presumably Gourmet Guide has gone out of business or was a scam all along? Money launderers maybe? I got a confirmation email to redeem my £200 voucher but they didn’t pay the restaurant we booked so we had to pay ourselves. Small claims court here we come!

This is a scam.

Impossible to book. They answer some emails but make it impossible to book anywhere on purpose.

We got money back via credit card after going through resolva.

I was given a £150 voucher as a gift but after contacting all the restaurants, hotels pubs etc.listed locally by Gourmet Guide as participating they all refused to use the scheme. Some didn’t know they were on the list and others said they had problems getting paid. The majority thought it was a scam. Gourmet Guide doesn’t answer the phone and refers you to their website. They have not submitted latest accounts to Companies House.

As previous reviews have stated this is a scam. Do not use this company. We were gifted a £150 voucher from our son. We followed the procedure to redeem our voucher successfully , went to the restaurant who knew nothing about the booking etc. We then had to pay the bill ourselves. Like others we are getting no response from the company. These people are crooks .

I was given a voucher and decided to use it at The OXO Tower. I followed instructions and the booking was made. When I came to pay I was told that I couldn’t use my voucher as The OXO Tower had stopped using the company as they had issues with it. I have phoned the Gourmet Guide number several times, never get to speak to anyone, just get redirected to the website. I have emailed twice but never get a reply. The person who bought me the voucher is extremely upset and so am I.

I purchased a voucher for what I believed was for a restaurant I frequent as a xmas gift. Payment made but didn't recieve the voucher.
I contacted my bank to cancel the pending transaction.
Thereafter read the dteadful reviews, wish I had read before the purchase.
It would have prevented undue hassle on xmas eve!
I can't comprehend how rogue businesses believe it is acceptable to take hard earned money from the general public.
Shame on you!

We have had an awful experience we booked with a restaurant and asked GG to sort the payment , the Wednesday before the restaurant contacted us they do not deal with GG but would try and sort I emailed them no reply the restaurant tryed as well , in the end we did not go for the meal, we have emailed GG 3 times called 10 and we now are nearly out of time for the voucher, as they do not respond,
This is not the first time this has happend we had same about two years ago, since we have just told the person who buys these vouchers to stop 🛑, becouse the administration is not good at responding back , do not book Ebrington Arms they do not know why they are on the website

WARNING do not use. It’s a scam, I don’t understand how they are still trading !!!!!!.
You receive the vouchers , but you cannot then contact them by phone. They emailed to advise the requested restaurant had been booked, THIS WAS A LIE. They then didn’t respond at all.
I’ve just been through section 75 with my bank who have refunded me.

Complete scam, I sent £80 on vouchers for my dad's birthday. Not received any vouchers or email to book a restaurant. They have answered my emails though saying there is a problem on my end that's stopping the email to come through. I've asked for a refund now as his birthday has been and gone. I feel bad as it looks like I forgot his birthday. I will hopefully get a refund !1

Absolute rubbish, would never recommend them, I'm in the website looking for a Restaurant and all it does is buffer. If you get the chance, go with another firm

Initial contact and redemption fine. But when I tried to book the final £50 - with the same restaurant - Gourmet Guide disappeared on me. Didn't reply to several emails. Never answered the phone. I would not recommend using them at all. I note many other negative reviews. Far too risky. Reported website to Google and National Cyber Security.

Having the same experience as all the other people. My mum bought the voucher and I’m so sad she’s been scammed. Has anyone managed to get their money back? Can anything be done to stop them taking money from people?
