Exactly the same as previous customer:
This begins with the car going in limp mode, so I take it to the garage where the car is serviced annually and has been diagnosed with turbo failure codes. I call Handler Protect, I am now told a case has been registered and I will need to supply the codes obtained on the diagnostics tool of the garage. So I did, this was stage 1.
Stage 2
Additionally, they need a professional statement from the garage person as to why the car part failed! And I wonder why do they need this as from a customers perspective 'A cover' is for breakdowns but no that's not true. Handler Protect will only pay if the part broke down suddenly that is the reason for failure is unknown. For any other reason, they will not pay. So I supplied this too.
Stage 3 (Still doesn't end here)
Furthermore, now I need to strip down the turbo, take pictures and email them back. So this is considered proof for them to finally send an engineer to inspect the part and conduct a fair and impartial assessment. Clearly, they couldn't do this right at the beginning because then they would not be able to refuse your claim without having to invest in the engineer to do so for them.
If you have a life, where you drive to work, do school runs. All of this can wait because Handler Protects fair and impartial assessment takes precedence as this is not the only Turbo that has failed in the history of parts and will need replacement but is the one that they will need to pay out for.
Imagine the stress as a consumer you go through for the £1000 , look for a garage who will strip your car and hold the car until HP sends their engineer and inspects.
Even after doing all of this HP will reserve the right to reject your claim as the so called fair and impartial assessment could fairly be impartial towards your claim.
Now you will not only pay for stripping down your car but also replacing the part on your own, having lost time and money both but most importantly faith in such companies that are out there cashing in on others misery.

I’ve had a great experience with Handler Protect. Every time I get in touch, they respond incredibly quickly, which makes a huge difference when you need support. The claims process is also very straightforward and easy to deal with—no stress at all.

Exactly as you’d expect; rude, set ridiculous conditions and exclude most repairs you need. Don’t bother.
Specifically, a lack of empathy for the customer - I, like most people are unfamiliar with the electrical and mechanical functionality of a modern motor engine. Unfortunately I, like most people, have had a string of bad experiences with independent garages in big cities. When something goes wrong with your car, there's an expectation that it's going to be prohibitively expensive and a nervousness that you're naivety is going to be taken advantage of, (hence me preferring to use my brand dealership to handle repairs). I called Handler when the error message came on the dash, the call lasted about 2 minutes, the message can be paraphrased as "I'll send you some forms" no mention of 30-day deadlines but clear on the point that I couldn't use a dealership mechanic. I have no idea why these conditions are in place, wasn't told and don't feel there was any consideration for the fact that I called a few days before Christmas and was unlikely to act before NY.
After some due diligence and references I found a local mechanic who appeared trustworthy. The error message was intermittent and the car was functional. I was provided with an engine diagnostic print-off and quote from the garage - as a layperson I had to accept that this would satisfy - sent it off and after a few days an email came in, "DECLINED" massive, red, bold capital letters, reason for rejection, as far as I can tell is the 30-day condition, the point of which still isn't clear to me. Or maybe it's that the repair itself isn't covered, whilst not listed as justification for rejection, I was encouraged to check the policy on this point, but don't know which parts are required... I was also asked to provide a registered engineers statement on the repair - which the local garage declined to provide.
So now, I'm left with an expensive repair that I don't understand, a warranty that could be valid, or not, penilised for trying to mitigate risk and assure the repair and a garage that can't help me meet a condition to appeal.
Generally a one-star experience
